I contacted this company through Angie's List and they never contacted us back. The "todo" list was the following: 1) Baseboards installed in great room. We were very surprised that they didn't even call. Work done by another company was $1,000. I guess it's easy to see who wants to work and who doesn't

Women In Construction were truly a miracle team in helping to manage not only one project, but many in our move to a house that was not livable when we purchased the property. They did all the demo work themselves, and worked from very early every day from 7 am until very late and even weekends to keep on schedule. I have not seen such attention to detail and follow through in any group before Women in Construction. Their willingness to be available and listen, and teach me what needed to be done was incredible. From choosing fixtures, to finding painters, etc, etc. they kept my best interests in mind. constantly. The quality and craftsmanship of the tile work has received many compliments.

Denise made sure that the work was done correctly and she had a good attention to detail. She made sure to ask questions about the little things that I hadn't thought of (e.g. the edges). The work was done quickly (it took two days) and it came out beautifully. The quality of the craftsmanship is apparent when you see the finished product and I hope to enjoy my new wall for many years to come.

Denise McEwan and her helper definitely had a great attention to detail!! They made the caulking lines so straight and perfect that it looked like new tile(tile was 12 years old). They were prompt and professional and thorough. I would hire them again in a minute to do an entire kitchen or just tile sealing or grouting.

Despite the fact that our 90 year-old house probably doesn't have a right angle in it, the work does not give that away. Why? Every effort was given to making sure the idiosyncrasies of this old house were taken into consideration and met the high standards this company sets for itself. From the beginning, Denise's sharp eye & experience, as well as Molly's clear words in writing a thorough contract (and the necessary addendum), gave us the information we needed to feel we'd chosen professionals we could trust. Since the job was done the week between Christmas and New Year's, the residents were in the house while they worked. While we expected the demo to be messy and loud, we were amazed at the amount of detail that went into re-building the floor, especially the number of judgments that had to be made to accommodate its irregularities throughout the process. The entire project was a learning experience. When the tile was in and it was time to choose the grout, the four of us deliberated in the afternoon until we came up with a color that worked well. However, before purchasing it, Denise insisted that we confirm our choice during the brighter light of day. How smart that was, as we now have a different (and perfect) one! Aside from doing such a great job, keeping us informed as the days went by and instructing us on how to best care for our new floor, Women in Construction did us a huge favor by allowing for the toilet and lavatory to be reinstalled after we had time to re-plaster and paint the walls, allowing that job to be much easier and to have infinitely better results.

Great. They even spotted the corroded connectors in the bathrooms and identified the need for a sealant around the kitchen basin even though they were working on the floor tiling (I'm not sure that they even charged for this). They treated my home with the same care and consideration as their own. Well worth the dollars.

I called Women in Construction on a Wednesday and on Saturday they were out giving me an estimate. Within the week, they started taking the existing bathroom down to the studs. By the end of the first week they started their work preparing the areas for the tiles in the shower area and the bathtub. Every aspect of their job worked like clock work. Their subcontractors showed up on the exact days that they planned for and they all did quality work. In every aspect of the job, Women in Construction paid incredible attention to every detail and delivered on a superior product.

I called on a Wednesday. That Saturday they came out and gave us a bid. The following Monday they began the job. For three plus weeks they were on the job at least six days a week, with every sub-contractor lined up without a hitch. (Plumber, Hot-mopper, electrician) They were very conscience of being clean and very respectful in the house. The end job was finished well ahead of there planned schedule with every detail of the job addressed.

They did not charge me for the consultation they even gave me a quick fix idea until I can come up with the money to get the work done right. They were the only company that knew what needed to be done.

They are honest and I would use them again. I had a feeling they would be very careful and they were.

Absolutely fantastic. Denise returned my call same day, came out for an estimate within a day or two, discussed project with me, set a date to do the work. Actually asked and came two days early to do the work even in the midst of the San Diego fires. Showed up early a.m. and on time, worked hard throughout, worked all day. Did an excellent job. Couldn't be happier with their professionalism and craftsmanship. Will hire them to do my bathrooms.

First things first: the now-installed tile looks beautiful---exactly like I wanted it to look! But back to my first call to Denise: she called me back the same day, but did so at the end of her work day so that she didn't interrupt her attention to the job she was on. To me that meant that she'd be giving her full attention to my job if I hired her---which is exactly how it was. She was professional, reliable and prompt in her follow through both prior to and during the project. Denise is a contractor who is on-site performing the work herself along with her capable assistant, Molly. Together they are meticulous in their attention to the details that result in a quality tile installation. I was very comfortable having them in my home, have nice attitudes, and were good to my dog & cat too! If I have further tiling projects in the future I will definitely contact Denise, and if I had to wait a bit to fit into her schedule of work orders I would consider it well worth waiting.

PERFECT! Women in Construction are truly the best at what they do. Their professionalism, attention to detail and work ethic are first rate. Right from the start they took control covering carpets, keeping me advised on schedules as well as things I need to consider. I am a perfectionist myself and these two ladies were up to the standard and more. This is the kind of company you are looking to hire as a homeowner. The tile job is perfect; the layout, the alignment, the grouting, the attention to every detail. "Perfect" a word Denise takes special pride in. But what made this experience a real pleasure was the the ladies themselves. They enjoy their work and it shows. By the time they finished (ahead of schedule) I felt as if I had made two new friends. My only wish is that I wish I would have met them earlier. So I could have had them do my other projects.

Excellent. I had spoken to several tile contractors who subsequently didn't show up or weren't on time to do their estimates. Denise was a few minutes early for every interaction we had. She gave a detailed estimate and turned it around same day. I had a number of sample tiles and she worked with me to select the best one for my bathroom and gave me a number of sample ideas (she had photos of many different jobs she had done) to consider for design. The work was completed within the time frame and cost she estimated and looks amazing. She was also extremely conscious of my home (meaning cleaning up after their work and ensuring there was no damage). She also went above and beyond the call and fixed my tub faucet which was loose. She actually went to the hardware store and got the part on her own to fix it for me (no charge). She passes along her contractor discount on tile which saved me a bundle. I can't say enough good things about Women In Construction.
