I am writing this review to let everyone know that Two Men and a Truck is a self-described NON -professional moving company. Or at least that’s what they told my wife and I when they refused to move our sectional couch up to our 3rd floor apartment. During the pre-move phase I provided Two Men and A Truck with a rough estimate of how many boxes I had as well as larger furniture that would also need to be moved. I let the company know right off the bat that there wouldn’t be an elevator in our new apartment, stairs only. The project manager (PM) said that they have moved into that specific building before and that moving the large couches (sectional) would not be a problem. I noticed while touring the building prior to signing a lease that all units on the third floor have sectional sofas, so we weren’t that concerned that our furniture wouldn’t fit. Furthermore three weeks leading up the move I called the project manager and mentioned that I underestimated the amount of boxes I had. The PM said that there was no problem and that there would be no change based on the original estimate I had given as they had reserved three movers and a 26 ft truck for my local move. I believed everything was all set. The movers arrived within the hour window I was provided. I told them that I hoped that the PM had communicated with the movers regarding the increased box total from the original estimate. The captain on the move told me the PM had NOT told them the updated box amounts and that the movers were scheduled to assist with another move after ours. He said the PM was on vacation in Hawaii so there was no way to communicate with someone about getting additional help for our move or for getting another team over to the other location for a PM move. One of the movers even had the audacity to tell me that I am lucky that the captain of the team decided to “go forward” with the move because the quote was incorrect. Uh, excuse me?! I am the lucky one? I I told the project manager multiple times that my initial box estimate was incorrect. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s not the customer's responsibility to ensure that there’s quality communication within a company’s own organization. The movers themselves were lazy and I even saw them smoking a vape pen in the truck and on the sidewalk to and from my apartment. I really hope this wasn't cannabis because they were handling our valuables. I am not opposed to cannabis but I guess these guys are not professional movers and I shouldn't have expected them to not be under the influence. When we got to the new apartment after about 3 1/2 hours of moving out of our 2 bd 2 ba apartment, things started to get strange. I previously offered to buy them all lunch but they said that since the move was larger than they thought they would just work through it. But then they took almost an hour long break between the local move locations... When they arrived we started hearing comments "oh this is going to be tight fit" and more "your lucky the captain decided to move forward with your move." After all the boxes were moved in it was time for the couch. They didn't even attempt to move it up the first set of stairs - instead they simply said they can’t do it after just eyeballing the space. I spoke to the captain and expressed how frustrated I was because I was told by the PM that Two Men and A Truck has specifically been hired to move other people in and out of this building AND I hired Two Men and A Truck only AFTER they said they would be able to move my sectional into the building. Our movers asked my wife on how they should try and get the first half of the sectional up the stairs. She’s not a mover or engineer, so every suggestion she gave was met with a response of: that won’t work, or the movers would have a storied answer - saying they tried that once before and scratched the wall or they did that at another location and it resulted in $2.5 million in damages. Frustrated, my wife asked them what they recommended. They told my wife we should have hired professional movers. They said that professional movers (which Two men and Truck are NOT) come to the locations and measure things to ensure a solid move. Two men and truck are more laborers than experienced movers. The captain started citing fine print stating that I should have measured the passageways and provided the measurements to the company in advance. Please be aware that they self-described themselves as being “not professional movers”. I asked them to leave our couches outside the apartment while I figured out what to do. I got a huge sigh and eye roll from one of the movers when I simply asked them to bring up the cushions for the couch to make it less appealing to steal. The move did not end on a positive note because of these comments over the course of the move which I would have probably just ignored if they actually completed my move. Since they did not, this rating is reflected as such. DO YOUR RESEARCH, this was my mistake as I hired them thinking they are professional movers. Maybe other franchise locations are better but certainly not this one. I later hired Reliable Delivery LLC which is a local moving company based in San Diego. I was able to get someone out within a week. Guess what...they got the couches into my unit in under an hour. No complaints or side comments just friendly experienced movers. Reliable Delivery LLC is the company I will be using moving forward. To summarize, if you have just a few boxes and a few small pieces of furniture then I guess take your chances with Two Men and a Truck. However, if you are looking for seasoned professional movers that will go above and beyond to ensure a satisfying move choose another company.

The three men from Two Men and a Truck arrived at the old address on time. They carefully loaded all boxes and furnishings into the moving truck. They traveled to the first address in an acceptable amount of time, off-loaded a piano, and placed the piano in the requested area. They then traveled to the second and final location. They carefully off-loaded the contents of the truck and placed the boxes and furnishings where requested. They were very professional, respectful, and helpful.
