+ -1 moreThey were amazing. They were very good, they were very conscientious, and they were on time. He really knew his stuff and there were some things that I wanted trimmed back and he said that if I did it this time of year, there are some sort of bugs that can get into it, so he didn't do it. They are really experts at what they do. They were a little on the expensive side but knowing that they are not going to do any harm was worth the price. It was to pay for.

+ -1 moreWe didn't have any problems with them but we switch to someone who is working with our neighbors as well. But, I'd say in general they were pretty good. Davey is good. They did everything they said they were going to do and turned up on time. They were very professional. I had no complaints. I think they were a little high but they were still pretty competitive. We like everything they did. I didn't see anything that was a negative.

Description of Work: We have a lot of trees on our property. They raised the skirts and thinned them out. They also cut back some volunteer trees.

+ -1 moreThey did a great job. Trees look great and the clean up was pristine. Also, each one of the team members (Nathan, Pat and Matt) were super personable and professional. They were quick; in and out in about 4 hours total.
Description of Work: The Davey team fertilized my Queen palms and Magnolia trees and pruned trees in the front and back yard.

+ -1 moreI really like them very much. I would definitely recommend them. I like that it's very personal every time I call for something. The supervisor comes out. The crew is usually the same. Everything that we talk about actually gets done. I have been using the company for 4 or 5 years. They have high-degree of professionalism. I see the same faces over and over. They are doing well. The quality of work is excellent. Their responsiveness is very good. Their punctuality and professionalism are excellent.
Description of Work: They come usually twice a year. I just have my regular tree service. They trim all my palms and they do the fertilization.

Description of Work: I've used Davey Tree on several occasions for tree trimming and removal and general yard cleanup, but hired them on behalf of a private trust. Their arborist and workers are professional through and through. The quality of their work and depth of their depth of their knowledge are excellent. However, they're pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

+ 0 moreDaniel Kump came out and we reviewed my needs, he immediately gave me an estimate and the work was scheduled the following week. The two member team of Jose Cardenas and Kip Otis did an outstanding job from start to finish. Everyone was prompt, courteous and professional. Jose, again is an artist, worked with me in making or not making a particular cut. The overall job took about five hours (and it was a big job). They did an excellent job of clean-up too. I will definitely be using Davey Tree for my future needs.
Description of Work: I have very mature palms reaching in height of over two stories that were in desperate need of trimming. The project included trimming five queen palms, a wild date group, a Guadalupe and a Bahia fan. After receiving two other estimates I went with Davey Tree who did an outstanding job. The tree trimmer, Jose Cardenas, is an artist.

+ -1 moreSee above. Overall, I would not use these people. Their approach to me really turned me off. I don't know how he got my name. I don't understand why SDGE would not actually send out fliers in their bills about free removal of trees. I don't know why they could not put something in the mail if they really had an address. No work was performed.
Description of Work: It was an unsolicited cold call to our house. The man on the phone asked for me by name. I said "Who's calling, please?." He didn't say his name, but said he was from Davey Tree Service. He went on to say that a tree in my yard was in the way of power lines. They'd remove it for free. He said they had a contract with SDGE. I said send me something in the mail about it. He said he was "outside the property right now" and he would bring me the paperwork. That made me feel really creepy. For one thing, it's raining today. For another, I did not see anyone or any odd car outside. I said again, just put something in the mail. He said, "when would you like me to stop by?" I repeated,for the third time. "just put something about it in the mail." It just felt weird and unprofessional to me. The caller ID said "cell phone 619.346.1969". ********************** This same person just called again. This time I asked his name: He said it was "Leo Zaragosa." He said "in the past, we've sent emails or faxes, but never had to send things through the postal service. Could he fax or email me something? I said no. Now I am even more convinced that something is wrong here.

+ -1 moreWe have had them out a couple of times and they are very nice. My sister knew about them and had used them years before so we just decided to call them for an estimate. I can't remember the name of the man who came out but he was very knowledgeable, nice and patient in answering our questions. I will contact them for another quote in the future.
