Terminix - San Diego -Termite & Pest Control

Description of Work: It is a quarterly treatment around the house to keep bugs out. They have other services for specific pest problems but I have not used those yet. The price is cheaper if you pay for the year in advance.

Description of Work: Purchased house that had a terminex "protection plan." | |For $200/year terminex would come by and "inspect" the house and say "no termites." | |However, I kept finding little bits that looked like sawdust on tables/chairs. | |Finally, looked up what that "sawdust" meant and realized it was termite excretion. | |Terminex returned for an inspection, walked around the house, then said "no termites." | |I said, "then what is that stuff?" And pointed out the termite droppings. | | |Inspector first said it was "nothing" but I asked him to write that down. | |He then took a second look and said...."you might have termites." | |Long story but Google "terminex scam" and you will find tons of horror stories about how terminex reaps in money from these protection plans while not inspecting homes and/or ignoring the presence of termites. | |If you are considering them and their "protection plans" do your homework first!!!

Description of Work: spray for ants, spiders and other pest around house. Will handle any problems with same pests in house but haven't needed this for many years. I do feel our Terminix man is very reliable.

Description of Work: we had a contract (insurance policy) that we had paid on for years |when it came time to use their services they said the policy did not cover our type of termite problem |this had never been explained to us before |I tried to get someone to talk to me or come out and resolve the issue but all i could ever get was a front line phone person rather than a supervisor |I finally gave up and went with another company

Description of Work: I pay a monthly service charge so the annual inspection was free. They are prompt, on time, and very professional. I have been using them of about 10 years. I had my house tented 10 years ago send hey did the work. No complaints.

Description of Work: Routine quarterly pest service. Our tech is very knowledgeable and professional. We did not, however, choose Terminex for termite removal.

Description of Work: Perimiter spray of house and outbuildings for insect control. I have been using Terminix for 10 years with no major problems.

Description of Work: a 10 minute injection of poison in 1 localized spot on their 3rd visit to my house. I have invested way to much money into a guarantee of termite protection over 14 years to quit paying now. I just hope there are not more termites that they did not find or kill.

Description of Work: We have a service contract with them to check over the house and treat for termites. They did not even go into the attic where most of our termite activity is. He stood on a ladder and opened the attic door. Never entered the attic and told us there was no termite activity (within 2 minutes of opening the attic door). Wow!!! A miracle. He must have x-ray eyes to see the roof, 10-15 feet away in the dark. Subterranean Termites were found in the cellar. Our contract covers baiting for subterranean termites, he would not bait. Said it was not necessary. REALLY! I had to treat the termite infestation myself. DO NOT waste your money or time with these flakes. We cancelled the service contract after the last visit. This was not a one time event. The year before they did the same thing and I ended up crawling around in the cellar treating the termite infestation myself.

Description of Work: I used Terminix. They sweep the gutters and the tiles to get rid of any cobwebs and they also spray around all the exterior concrete and the perimeter against bugs.

Description of Work: ant control. Did not fix the problem, I still use them at my other home and will see how they do there. Am using another service for my home.

Description of Work: My two sisters and I needed to sell my Mom's home after she passed away, we initially called to have the rats in the attic exterminated. We had three quotes and we chose to use Terminex due to their"good" reputation and name. Initially George was very responsive,this is when they were trying to win our business. We had the house tented to kill the rats and the termites and tear out insulation in the attic and replace it, we paid $4700.After the tenting we noticed that many of the concrete roof tiles were broken, it took months for them to get back out to the property to fix the roof tiles. We then found that we had termites swarming in the backyard, called George out again and he informs us that we now have subterrainean termites and that was not covered by the first treatment, so we pay $1845 to have them bore holes in the concrete and around the perimeter of the house. In the meantime we are given fix it items before we will be able to get a final clearance. We call in our own workers at this point and pay about one third of what Terminex would have charged. At some point we noticed that three of the roof tiles were broken by the crew that fixed the twenty or so that were broken from before.(These never did get replaced and we have since closed escrow). To top off everything the house was in escrow, an inspection was done and we got written up for termite damage after Terminex inspected and gave us clearance! We lost that sale! By this time my sisters and I were so fed up with their lack of response that we had our RE agent deal with Terminex; I don't know how many times she tried to get them out for the final clearance on the job. In my opinion Jason and George failed us after we trusted them and gave them our business and our money. I would not recommend that anyone ever use this company unless they want many headaches at a very high expense.
