Sullivan Solar Power

It took about four days to complete the work. They took care of the rebate offered from the state. The service was fabulous and I liked everything about them. They were nice, on time, and professional. They were responsive to my questions and I could not be happier.

October 7, 2013 I called this company to get a proposal for solar installation for my home. We did a proposal over the phone. I was told I would get an email proposal in about a week . For three weeks I contacted them and reminded them I was still waiting for my proposal. They kept telling me the guy was working on it. On October 24th I sent my last email to them and told them I was tired of waiting. Follow up: Sullivan apologized to me for not responding to my emails and asked if they could come out and give me a proposal in person instead of online. The person seemed genuine and serene in making amends. I have not decided yet to take them up on their offer.

Professionalism from start to finish. Scott O'Hara called and we met within the week. Instead of simply coming by and pitching his company, he came prepared with all the information I would want to know and in writing so I could explain it to my spouse. Advantages of solar, the industry changes, the solar panel manufacturers (which is very important since many are going out of business), the financial cost and payment structure, my payment options, monitoring of my panels after installed, warrantees and maitenance costs. He was prepared with the history of my electrical expenses from SGDE and after viewing my house by satelite, he made a guess about how many panels we could fit on the roof and prepare an estimate of how many kilowatts the panels would produce each month on average. All the legwork was completed except, then he went up on my roof and with a very specialized piece of equipment, conducted a survey of the exposure of the roof area for where the panel placement would not be ideal, such as a tall neighboring tree that shawdowed the part of roof. By avoiding this area and the area shawdowed by the chiminey we were still able to fit 22 panels instead of 23 which still provided 90 o/o of our average annual electrical cost. The financial presentation showed how much we could expect to recieve as a tax reduction and any specials or referral discounts and determine an expected payback period. Once we signed the contract, a preconstruction meeting was scheduled. Scott had explained the process to me ahead of time and would remind me of the next steps each time which was very helpful. Anyway, I was introducted to the construction manager of the project Rick Rios, he and Scott and I discussed what electrical conduits I would see and where the inverter would be placed so I would not have any suprises. They explained how the process works and that they would be sending a link to sign up with SDGE. They took care of all the paperwork for the permits and the SDGE requirements. They worked seemlessly with my roofer and always showed up when expected and when the roofer wanted to go over how they would work together. The installation crew went over what we decided during the preconstruction meeting to be sure if anything had changed. confirmed the inverter location and size to expect, etc. Once we got the okay from SDGE that we were patch into their grid the same day Sullivan called and came to turn on the systm and verify the working order. They came by a second time to go over the working of the equipment and logging onto SDGE to see how much klwt we were producing. Sullivan has their own monitoring system of all of their clients and are notified if any panel is not functioning 85%. If any of the panels fall below this production level, based on exposure expectatins and the other panels on the roof, they call us! Scott not only provided his cell phone number, he was always helpful and quick to provide any of my needs, like "the roofer is here and wants to coordinate with your installation crew, soon". When Rick went on vacation I was notified a week ahead and introduced to the construction manager who would be covering for him by email and phone. Nice! Finally after all was completed, Scott came out again to go over anything that I might have a question about and to walk me through how to log into SDGE and also their monitoring system. Believe it or not, there are more good things I could write about. I am thouroughly impressed with this company. While they seemed like a very professional outfit in terms of their presentation, their quoted price was an astonishing 40% higher than other bids on the same system, and they wanted to do an electrical panel upgrade to 400As, which NO ONE else thought was necessary. Moral to this story: shop around. Needless to say, I did not use them.

Brian was extremely professional, FAR EXCEEDED OTHER SOLAR COMPANIES WE TALKED TO AND WAS THE MOST THOROUGH in looking at our roof and all our electrical sub-panels.

Good. There was a 5-month waiting list before the panels to be installed. Everything went well with the installation. Have been very satisfied with the solar panels and the people associated with the company Sullivan.

The experience was very good. The only glitch was with the project manager who was kind of absent and not really attending for the project but that was an internal thing that I’d fixed with them. Everybody was extremely professional, polite, clean and neat. They did everything they said they’d do except for the project manager. He was the only flying the ointments with the whole thing. Their pricing was very competitive. It was pretty consistent with everybody else. With the exception of the project manager, everybody showed up when they were supposed to and did exactly what they said they would do. The project developer was just outstanding. The installers were probably 2 of the most professional people that I’ve ever dealt with. So I was very impressed with them. I have already recommended them to other people who are using them right now.

He was on time and professional, had a nice presentation.

Sullivan Solar Power is fabulous. They are outstanding. They are so polite, so nice and so helpful. I cannot say enough wonderful things. I have went through 3 different proposals and this one is far better than the others and the panels are better. They have more experience, they have been doing this for a long time and the quality of the help that they have are superior as well. I would certainly recommend anybody to them.

The quote was about $20,000. I think they are a professional company that does a good job. The people that came out were professional.

Its now been 3 months since installation and we are producing 20% more than promised. The installation looks amazing and when I see other homes with solar I can see the difference. There are no visible conduits and the all black panels really make a difference compared to the ones with the aluminum border. My Project Developer was Scott O'Hara. scott.ohara@sullivansolarpower.com. He was awesome. Came to the house and gave examples of the system that would work for my home. Went over all the different options to pay for it.

Mike answered all our questions and sought help on a couple to make sure he had the right answer. Mike turned the project over to Sean for the installation. All appointments kept with excellent, detailed follow through.

Installation went well. It was on schedule. The workers were prompt and did their work expeditiously.

I can't say enough about this fantastic company. The professionalism of the entire company was just exceptional! The experience was smooth which is a far cry from most contractors that we are all used to dealing with. It took the crew about 3 days from start to complete the installation, during that time they provided updates throughout the entire process. When they were finished for the day they would let me know what they accomplished and the next steps for the following day. When everything was completed, they showed how to log in to the website to check how much energy was being produced. I can say unequivocally that this company provided the smoothest installation of anything I have ever had installed. If you are looking to have solar panels installed I wouldn't look any further. The proposal and installation stages went very well. The communication and service level from the project manager was poor. It had been suggested that after the contract was signed, the project manager would manage the details related to the installation. after an initial meeting, he was pretty much a no show. The installation team was fantastic. Over all, I am very satisfied and would recommend Sullivan.

When the County inspector came out, he told us this is the best system he has seen, he was very impressed. That in my opinion is big time cudo's. We have already seen our meter run backwards......Awesome! Everything so far is just great. It was actually the project director that referred us to Angie's list for an extra $500.00 coupon. I joined right away and was legible for the coupon. This too, has been a good investment

After they gave the quote, I realized they did not understand the technical aspects of the system that was required. They misrepresented the equipment they intended to use. I reported my experience to Angie, this report was published, then the contractor called me and tried to have me change my statement.

I called the office and setup an appointment. Mike Silva called me the day before the appointment because he saw some potential problems with trees blocking the sun at certain times. He was still willing to come out the next day for an evaluation. Unfortunately because my next door neighbor has some tall trees, Mike said that it would not be cost efficient. If my situation changes I would definately check back with Sullivan Solar.

There were terrific comments about Sullivan's on Angie's List, and I learned a lot. They broke the pricing down to the panels, installation, and different components. They are my plan of choice right now. The rest of the solar folks I talked to were a bunch of scams. Solar is a service which needs much more attention, because most of the providers are scam artists. They don't have a clue what they are talking about or what kind of service they can provide. I was very impressed by the comments I found about Sullivan's on Angie's List.

They seemed to be honest. They were nice and very informative. I would refer them.

Very smooth installation from start to finish. Nice company to work with. Every step of the project was explained and they took care of all the rebate paperwork involved. Also dealt with the design review committee of my HOA.

The experience was quite good and I would recommend Sullivan to anyone interested in solar power.

Jason gave a professional estimate and answered all my questions prior to hiring Sullivan. Casey, the project manager met with me prior to installation and explained the process thoroughly. Cesar, the installer worked professionally and left my house clean when he was finished. I have recommended Sullivan Solar to friends!

Sullivan provided one of the most thorough quotes, including a good explanation of the federal and state rebate programs. Their presentation and quote included key information that other solar companies did not include in their quotes. Their salesman, Eric, answered all questions in a timely manner, did not push me into making a decision until I was ready. All that was promised during the sales pitch was exactly what was delivered. During installation the crew arrived when they said they would, completed the job within the original schedule, cleaned up well. There were no problems or surprises during installation. All of the crew were courteous and professional. I was extremely pleased with the work done, love getting most of electricity from the sun. I have referred Sullivan to friends.
