Dave took pictures to show me where the repair was needed, as well as pointing out a couple other 'issues'. The job was completed, flawlessly, the same day I called, and for the same price or less than someone else quoted me (that was booking 2 months out. by that time, my house would have been damaged.) Daves employees were polite, respectful, and cleaned up everything perfectly, let me know when they were done. There is no reason to call any other roofer - I would not hesitate to use Shake, Shingle again and would highly recommend to anyone needing roofing services.

The bidding process was thorough with the owner going every price line item (with options for going lower or higher) and his contract terms in clear concise English. This impressed us. He addressed his strengths and weaknesses. It was surprising and refreshing. We learned quite a bit about roofing during this phase. He left us with a low pressure quote that turned out to be in the lower half of estimates received. He stated that the same team of experienced roofers would arrive each day. He wasn't hiring day laborers and sending them unattended to the house's roof. In fact, the owner made it once a day to check in on matters. His roofing team, one of several that he manages on a f/t basis, was prompt, clean, and dedicated to the job and our satisfaction. In the end, the bill was a little higher than the estimate but that was due to the rotted wood for which we were warned. No arguments there. The overall experience with this company could not have been any better. The owner is an honest low-pressure salesperson with whom I would do business again. Plus he offered great warranties on his work. Overall we lived through the process of re-roofing and for 4 days and were never inconvenienced.

We tried to get a quote to replace some tiles on our roof. This company gave us a quote for $2500. The work they suggested was extremely extensive (our roof is still in pretty good shape - 10 years into a 30 year warranty). They did not know we received quotes from 3 other companies. The other companies (all found and rated 'A' on Angie's List) did not find our roof to need the extensive work, and gave us quotes ranging from $200-$450. We went back to Shake Shingle and Roll to see if they had given us the wrong quote (perhaps someone elses?) and they stood behind it. I realize 2009 was a tough year, but come on! I guess they didn't realize we were getting alternate quotes and hoped we would fall for theirs.

I wanted to use their services but instead used the services of another contractor who had done some other work for us. Their estimate was the lowest compared to others. They were very straight forward and gave me reasonable options. They were a small firm but that was not the reason for not using them. My colleagues had recommended them to me and I had almost decided to go with their services.

My windows started leaking and they continually come to my home to ensure the problem wasn't a result of the roofing job. They stand behind their work.

Excellent pre-sale support; excellent support prior to installation. Work was done in a professional and timely manner. Roof was not completely covered by the end of the work week, so one employee worked on Saturday to place shingles in the event of rain - This was done without even asking if I wanted it - good service.

ALTHOUGH MOST OF THE WORK WAS DONE WELL ENOUGH, THE COMPANY WAS SOMEWHAT UNRESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER NEEDS EXCEPT WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR THEM TO BE PAID. WE HAD TO REMIND THEM TO COMPLETE SEVERAL PORTIONS OF THE JOBS THEY HAD SOMEHOW "FORGOTTEN" TO DO, AND THEY LEFT A BIG MESS AFTER TEARING OFF THE ORIGINAL ROOF. DAMAGED WOOD WITH RUSTY NAILS STICKING OUT OF IT WAS LEFT ON OUR LAWN FOR THREE DAYS AFTER IT WAS TORN OFF. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OTHERS NOR WOULD WE USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

THIS IS A LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD COMPANY THAT HAS DONE A LOT F HOUSES IN THIS AREA. PUNCTUAL AND WORKED FAST, BUT THE CLEAN UP, ESPECIALLY OF NAILS, WAS NOT THE BEST.

THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THE WORK IS GOOD AND SEEMS TO BE HOLDING UP FINE THROUGH THE RAIN. THEY WERE NICE AND I FEEL THEY DID A GOOD JOB.
