SGO DESIGNER GLASS

Very bad. The contractor is really just a middleman. She works with a third-party glass fabrication company and a freelance artist. The contractor's only real work is coordinating the fabrication, delivery and installation. The contractor didn't have a good working relationship with her artist so it was up to us to deal directly with the artist who is an extremely difficult person. The contractor had a third party deliver and install the window. The SGO glass folks didn't send a representative to the install. After building the scaffolding, the delivery team brought the window in from their truck. It did not meet the specifications in the contract so, figuring I would be stuck to have the installers return if I had them put it back on the truck, I asked them to install it with the belief it could be fixed in place. Turns out the contractor couldn't fix it and she ended her professional relationship with the artist for not meeting the design specs in the first place. When we tried to discuss the issue with her on the phone she lost her temper, screamed some obscenities and charged our credit card for the remainder of the balance without our consent. I have since contacted the California State Contractor Licensing board. SGO Glass had been cited for operating without a contractors license. SGO Glass has been cited by the State of California and I am still weighing my options.

We got her the piece to refinish and then we got it back 1 1/2 months later which we thought was a bit long considering the small sized piece. Overall though excellent work was done and we were satisfied.

I called Lindsay from a flier I picked up at the Del Mar Home and Garden Show. I looked at the many options in her showroom near Bay Ho Costco but was drawn to one that was very similar to the oval stained glass design in my nearby door. Since I see one of the doors as well as the ugly smoked glass bathroom window from my Jacuzzi tub and deck, I asked if she could duplicate the door design in my bathroom window. She showed me some pattern options and even let me take them overnight to see which ones matched exactly. She went through great pains to keep from damaging my old aluminum frame both when she measured the glass and later when she installed the finished product. Lindsay emailed me the design to review before she ordered the beveled glass and film. She was very pleasant and cooperative when I asked her to change something in her design to make it match my door a bit more. The window matches exactly and looks more beautiful then I imagined. It brightens the whole bath room.
