The crew was prompt, worked hard and performed a large project in a very professional way. We were very pleased with the result.

ViI worked with many roofing vendors and Sequoia would be my next choice in future. I did not choose them this time only due to schedule and had a more competitive bid from another provider for the repairs. When I go to replace the roof I will call Sequoia again.

He came out and in the process in climbing around on the roof his ladder sliced a piece of decorative metal. He said he'd take care of it. I said fine, got quote and he took care of it. I cannot comment on his work because I did not end up using him, but his customer service was outstanding.

All was good though we eventually went with another contractor. The price was on the high side.

Update 9/26/2014 - Around 0830 the morning after my missed appointment and this review, i received a phone call from Paxton who sincerely apologized for the missed appointment and we then re-scheduled for later this afternoon. Shortly after that phone call i also received a phone call from the owner, Mike Rochholz, also apologizing for the inconvenience and asked for the opportunity to show us what Sequoia Roofing is made of. Paxton was very professional and knowledgeable while he was here for the estimate, answering all of my questions. Even though what happened yesterday was unprofessional, they made a solid effort to make it right. If we decide to move forward with Sequoia Roofing, it will be because of that effort, they actually seem to care. The phone call went well. I called and requested an quote for a roofing job in North Park, and was told that someone would call me back to schedule the appointment. Only a few moments later I received a call back and asked if there were any times available for the following day, the person on the phone told me that they had a few times available ranging from 0830 -1430. We scheduled the 1430 time slot and she even gave my the name of the contractor coming to give the estimate, Paxton I believe it was. It is now 1630, two hours past our scheduled time, no one has shown up, and I have received no phone call. Unacceptable!

I had a persistent roof leak so I asked Sequoia Roofing for an inspection. Since my house is over 25 years old, Rudy, a representative from the company, recommended that we remove and replace all the existing cement tiles and install new high quality underlayment. The job also involved replacing the roof vents and replacing any dry rotted wood. The crew was extremely hard working and completed the job in 3 days. They were on time each day and worked through some of the hottest days of the year. Rudy stopped by each day to check on the progress. They found quite a bit of dry rot. They replaced all the defective wood and painted any new exposed wood with matching paint. They also replaced many cracked and defective tiles. They even added a new bathroom vent for me making sure that it was positioned correctly. Unlike the original installation which had none, they installed drip edge flashing and a metal riser along two sides of the house. Sequoia Roofing is a very customer service oriented company. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work and I highly recommend them.

Like many of us here in San Diego, I was getting tired of paying huge electric bills to SDGE. My home has two air conditioners, a jacuzzi, a 2nd refrigerator in the garage, and two boys with no sense of the high cost of electricity. As we all know, electricity is just getting more expensive as time rolls on. My wife and I have considered doing solar for years and never did because of the high cost of the systems in the past. Recently, I did my research and realized that now is a smart time to install a solar system. Prices have come down on the equipment and the technology has improved. The 30% federal tax credit definitely helps when you are calculating your return on investment. I started doing my research on solar companies and I got several bids. I hired Sequoia Roofing to install my solar system and I can say that I am 100% satisfied with that decision. It was clear to me after meeting Mike (Owner of Sequoia Roofing) during the bidding process that Sequoia Roofing was the right decision. Not only is he very knowledgeable about solar systems and the installation process, but he was the only one that talked about preserving the longevity of my existing roof. I have a tile roof that is in great shape and Mike wanted to make sure that it would stay that way for all of the years that I will be enjoying my new solar system. During the installation process, I was very impressed with the crew that was working on my project. They treated my home with respect and they cleaned up the job site perfectly before leaving. Except for the new solar panels on my roof, you would never know they were here. My system is running perfectly and its great watching that meter on the side of the house run backwards. My bill is now down to ZERO! I highly recommend Sequoia Roofing to anyone considering installing a solar system on your home.

went really well.we had three estimates from different companies.Sequoia saved us 8,000.dollars total then what the others wanted.there work was good and professional.I myself recommend sequoia roofing for all your roofing needs.

We had a very good experience. They were excellent. I researched a lot of companies, and I really liked their price, I liked their professionalism, and when it comes to the price, it was better than most of the people I interviewed. It wasn't the lowest cost, but I really liked the person I worked with ,and he had worked in the past with solar company that I would be using.

I like their professionalism and the speed of completion of the work. They came out and spent about an hour with us going over different products, processes and options that we would have without knowing if they were going to get the bid or not. We took in three bids. They were not the cheapest one but it was offering us a better product and they were able to install the entire roof in a matter of three days after they were saying that they typically would take five days but they were able to get it done quickly. They had a great crew. They just rocked.

Best Solar Company in San Diego! If you're like me you're getting at least 2 solar sales calls/week! Let me save you the pain of meeting with all these people. I had 5 companies come over for a "Solar estimate". These meetings took anywhere from 1-3 hours!!!!!!! There is a lot to discuss if you want to be educated. I also called my CPA and confirmed the 30% Federal Tax rebate was legit. It is. I can tell you that most of them did the high pressure sign up today routine. The quotes varied widely and there are endless panel brand options. The company that stood out after these consultations was Sequoia Roofing & Solar. Why? The owner (guy named Mike) actually came out for the consultation Absolutely ZERO sales pressure. It felt more like an honest education in Solar. They will not try to sell you a lease program (You absolutely want to own your solar if you don't you won't get the Tax credit) They are ROOFING EXPERTS. A lot of their business is going on peoples roofs and fixing the destruction created by these solar installers! Solar installers are like real estate agents in So. Cal they are popping up everywhere and most of them are bad and not qualified to get on your roof. They drill through your tiles, they break tiles and don't replace them, etc. They were very competitively priced The owner (Mike) was doing two installs in our neighborhood and came by the job at least a dozen times to answer any questions (You will have a lot of questions) and make sure everything was proceeding as planned. I would encourage you to get a couple of quotes if you have 5-6 hours to dedicate to it. If only to see how much more professional Sequoia is than the other so called Solar experts. By the way our first bill just came in for a partial month and SDGE owes us $31.00 Thank you Sequoia!!!!!!!!!!

Mike came on time to the appointment - we inspected the roof, he explained new technology & method, quoted a price & agreed, workers started a few days later right on time. satisfactory clean up by workers, respectful, worked diligently on the project. will have to wait for a heavy rain storm to see how the roof works & if all moisture is gone. competitive pricing - would recommend getting a quote & evaluating for your roofing projects.

Mike was right about doing the above to help combat my growing utility bills. The house is now much cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter. I have really saved on my utility bills! The workers were wonderful and quick. Answered all my questions and made sure both my gates were kept closed to keep the dogs inside the yard. They unloaded materials in an area that was out of my way. They cleaned up every night. They made sure there were no pieces of roofing paper or nails left behind in my garden. And when the job was over ~ they walked the area with me to make sure I was pleased with the job. All of the workers were very respectful of me and very professional. I had 4 bids on this job. Mike took the time to answer all my questions and never rushed me to make a decision. His bid was not the cheapest ~ but his knowledge of his profession was what made him my #1 choice. I am very pleased with Mike, his employees, and the job that was done. And extremely satisfied with 10% new tile. It's a dead ringer match to my old tile!

It went great! Rudy & his workers were nothing but professional, polite & punctual. Rudy took care of details he could easily have expected me to do. When they were done, you would never have known they'd been here. They cleaned up every little bit of debris from the carport & drive. I couldn't be happier with the job they did.

After just moving into our home, it rained and we found that there quite a few leaks, so we knew we had to do something with the roof. We had several roofers in the area come give us estimates and talk to us. We liked the products that Sequoia Roofing used and felt they were the better fit for us. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive roofing estimate that we got. The roofing team showed up on time every day for the 5 days it took to do the work. They worked very hard and tried to keep the place as clean as possible during the process. The roofing re-roof went off without a hitch and the roof looks much better, since the original roof had some very ugly large vents and was shorted tile. The new vents they use can not been seen and look great. We had to have over 300 tiles added because the original roofers had stretched the tile to go further, thus the reason why the paper had completely disappeared. Though we had to do this work, we are glad we found Sequoia Roofing.

Sequoia Roofing was great! So glad i finally found someone to do our roof. Got quotes from 6 other companies that were either way too expensive, cheaper but I didnt trust them, or companies that werent very familiar with tile roofs and preferred to do shingles. Mike was very knowledgeable,about the benefits of tile roofs, solar fans, attic ventilation, etc..., easy to talk to, educated in roofing and keeps current with the industry (classes, conferences, etc...- unlike other companies I talked to that were very old-school), and reasonable with the price. Same 10 yr warranty as all the other roofers, and fit me in his schedule in just 3 weeks. For my roof, we plywooded the whole house first (because had skip sheathing from wood shake shingles) and I also opted to do the Energy Efficient Roofing System by Boral which is raised battens (wood planks under the tiles for better air flow (attic stays cooler longer), nice bird stops for more air flow, and a ridge vent at the top of house in attic. Of course the tile roof looks great but Im also glad we did raised battens for AC savings in the summer. Since we were on a budget, Mike mentioned we could skip the raised battens on garage (a quarter of our house) so that was a welcomed idea. He even had that side look raised up to a degree so it would blend with rest of house tiles raised on battens. Juan, the foreman, was very knowledgeable and has been doing tile roofs for a very long time. Overall, very pleased with Sequoia Roofing and highly recommend!

I Contacted MIke for an estimate and he responded promptly. He was very thorough in assessing the property. He went through the property with my husband and followed through with all that was promised. He provided the service within a few weeks and the job was completed in 3 days. My home is a 1927 craftsman and his workers replaced all the boards that were damaged or rotted and a few pieces of the eves on our home that I had noticed in the past needing replacement. I felt like I could trust him and his crew to make good decisions on my behalf and do a quality job which they did. They even replaced the flashing related to our solatube. I wasn't able to get back to them to approve this but it was only $90.00 for materials. He did it because it needed to get done which I appreciated and the cost was so minimal, it didn't really change the estimate much. I was relieved they found the problem and fixed it. Apart from the great work they did, their rates were so reasonable and their work was exemplary. My husband and I are so busy and don't have any time for contractor nonsense, and with Sequoia roofing, it was completed drama free. Imagine my relief. After spending many, many years working with contractors that don't take pride in their work it was so refreshing to finally have such a positive experience with Mike and his crew. I will recommend Sequoia roofing to anyone who needs a great roofing company. I wish everyone had the integrity and work ethic that Sequoia has. It went great! We've not had great experiences with contractors but based on the the reviews on AL we decided to let Sequoia have a look at the roof and see what they would charge. Mike was very responsive and returned my request for a quote within an hour. We arranged for Mike to come over and have a look. He was prompt and arrived when he said he would. He was very easy to talk to and listed to our previous bad experiences. We've had some problems with leaking and so he told what he could do to mitigate the leaking. We had some rain a week ago and were very happy to see that there wasn't any leakage down the side of the house. I can't say enough good things about Mike and the crew. The crew that did the work were here on time and worked very hard to get the job done quickly. I wish Sequoia did other things besides roofing because I would hire him without hesitation.
