The contractor was extremely professional and did a great job of fixing the leak. The roofers were able to perform the repair within four hours. We were amazed at how quickly they made the repair -- minimizing any further damage. I would highly recommend this family-owned company to anyone needing roofing. They are very responsive and professional and I feel that the price was very fair for the amount of work they did and how fast they were able to get to us.

Mike was exactly on time for the estimate and for the work. He's knows what he's doing and is very thoughtful. He offered to place the original older tiles in the highly visible areas and put the new tiles where they're not easily seen. They painted flashing they didn't have to but did to make it all look fresh. I found Mike and his employees to be hard working, professional and to care about doing a quality job. They were a pleasure. I would have them again and I highly recommend them.

Called for est. 11/18/10. Owner Mike Rochholz inspected roof at appointment time 11/19/10. I recieved wrtten est. same day. Work was scheduled for 12/6/10. Here at 9am, worked till 4:30 and cleaned up all debris. Returned 12/7/10 by 9am, worked till 3:15 and cleaned up all debris. Owner Mike Rochholz supervised work both days. Juan was responsible for the labor and very easy to deal with.

Called for an estimate based on the number of good reviews. A representative showed up, but didn't have a ladder with him. Told him to come back with a ladder so he could give me a proper estimate. He said he would return the next day with a ladder but never showed up. Very disappointing given the good reviews.

Overall, an excellent experience. Punctual, professional, courteous. They worked fast, carefully, and cleaned the site well.

When they inspected the roof it looked fine. The problem was an old skylight that was falling apart. They didn't even charge me for the evaluation.

Originally asked for a new roof qoute. After getting a few quotes and comments from this contractor and other contractors, it was determined the roof will be good for another 5-10 years. Sequoia suggested just resealing all the skylights and pipes. I also had them change out the skylight from a single pane to a dual pane at the same time. Overall, great contractor to work with. When I need a new roof down the line, I will definitly call them.

A roof leak under non-functioning solar panels - and our desire to have those panels removed - prompted our request for a quote from Sequoia. We wanted the leak repaired, of course, but also wanted an expert opinion on the condition of the entire roof - which is 20 years old. Mike responded to our bid request immediately, and came out the next day. We found him highly professional and extremely knowledgeable. He walked us through our options - repair vs replace entire roof underlayment - and discussed features we could consider - including elevating the roof tiles by installing battens, allowing increased air circulation. We received his bid - for both repair and full re-roof - the next day. We decided to go with the full underlayment replacement - keeping our existing tiles. The work began exactly as scheduled the following week. The crew arrived on time - a very professional team - that worked diligently each day, and never left until all debris was cleaned completely. Mike drove up each day to review the progress, and let us know what he found and what work was left to do. The project was completed in 4 1/2 days - ahead of schedule. We were extremely pleased with the results. I highly recommend this company - and Mike - to anyone needing re-roof or repairs, or just some advice on what is needed, or what is optimal.. For such a large and expensive project - and we did feel that the quote was reasonable given comparisons we did - Mike and his team made the process as painless for us as possible.

I was so pleased with this company. The owner Mike was exactly what you hope for from a professional. He's very personable and communicates well. He's out to do it right the first time! He is very knowledgeable and will provide you with a detailed explanation of what he's doing and why. You're never left wondering, what is going on with all that noise they're making on the roof. Although he was not the one up on the roof doing the physical work, he has some great guys that work hard and fast and clean up better than I've ever seen a crew clean up before. Mike does visit the work site periodically to make sure things are moving along, and he always checks in to tell you what's happening and what's to come next. His pricing was beyond fair and I would suggest him to anyone that says they need any kind of roof work done. I had two other estimates and one was too weak and the other was too extreme; they just told me I needed a new roof. Mike was straight with me and gave me the perfect alternative, and told me that his work would prevent us from having to do any thing major over the next several, several years. He's got a great warranty and that gave me confidence as well. Someone that is willing to warranty their work means they're going to do it right the first time. We also decided to get our skylights replaced and he assisted us with that as well. As I discovered, the skylight industry works closely with contractors and roofers, therefore Mike was our middle man and he was willing to help as much as he could to make the process easy for us. He actually brought in a contractor friend of his to take a look at our skylights since they were custom sized and get an outside opinion. That was above and beyond for me. Mike is great to work with!!!

I was in the process of purchasing what I knew to be a "flip" property and because the seller never "lived" in the property, they were not held to a Seller's Real Estate Disclosure. The roof came up on the General Home Inspection so I opted to have a professional roofing contractor come out and evaluate its condition. i came to Angies List for help with selecting a contractor and SEQUOIA ROOFING not only was able to accomodate my time limits based upon the contract but also was extremely thorough in their evaluation. Because of their service, I learned that my roof's condition was excellent and they even provided to me a Roof Warranty for roof problems that might occur over the next Two Years! As it turns out, that purchase fell out of escrow and I am in the process of negotiating a new ppurchase. Should that negotiation go through as hoped, I will be calling SEQUOIA ROOFING again to inspect the next property's roof!

I've had two experiences with this company, the first went really well. I had my roof tuned up. They came, fixed all of the flashing, Patched some leaks, replaced tiles. They were punctual and seem to have done a very good job. My second experience has been frustrating. I asked to have two vents installed in my roof to allow me to vent bathroom fans. The workers came to the house twice. Were 1-2 hours late both times. And one of the times did the "we have to go and get parts", and were gone for hours. The vents seem to be installed well, but I think they are the wrong kind of vent as there is no way to attach a vent pipe to it. I asked that they return to check the work, when the guy came out he said that he didn't want to fix it while I wasn't there. I'm no roofer, so I keep asking...was this done correctly. And get no answer, there has to be a right way to do it. I've now left a 2 messages at their office with no return call. Which is odd because I haven't paid them. Hoping it will work out, as I did like dealing with them the first time. If they corrected the issue I would still consider using them in the future. UPDATE: Addendum 7/15/10 ? Since posting my first comment Mike has been in touch with me many times to follow up and has made every effort to correct this issue. Mike?s follow-through and customer service has been excellent and he has done everything to make this right. Mike?s resolution was to find another company that specializes in HVAC to come in and resolve the problem and he is paying for 100% of their costs. Not sure if I can change the initial grade, but if I could they?d get an A+ for customer service, follow-through, and resolution. Mike is an honest stand-up guy, he has made this right, and I would use this company again without question.

Very good! Very professional and on-time.

They were excellent. He was very professional. He came out right away the next day after the storm. He had guys out repairing it the next day. Everything was excellent. He was very reasonable. It ended up costing a whole lot less than what I thought. I thought it would cost us thousands of dollars and I just about fell over when he told me. They could have taken everything off and charged for new. They didn't do that, so I felt that he was very conscious of price. Not only was Mike very professional but so were the workers he had out here. They cleaned up well after themselves. It was a pleasant surprise to find somebody that had a lot of integrity.

We will definitely call Mike at Sequoia Roofing when we need a roof in the future.

Everything was good except that I got no-interest financing with another company; if it wasn?t for that, I would have been glad to work with Sequoia. They were quite professional.

The company owner came personally and did the survey. He then gave me a quote, which I accepted. His crew of workers came on the day agreed to and performed the job with a great amount of efficiency and professionalism.

Mike visited the work site three times to check on things. I watched most of the repair work. The two workers, Guillermo and Juan, worked hard and effectively. They were also courteous and neat. Guillermo was obviously highly experienced, and he found a problem area that had not been appreciated before the work began. The crew worked without interruption during each of two days required to complete the job. Except for one area at the side of the house (probably overlooked), Guillermo and Juan cleaned up everything when they had finished.

I would recommend them to other people. They were very professional, very friendly, and very prompt. They showed up when they were supposed to show up, and they did their work very well.

We thought it would have to be replaced but he told us we had five more years on the roof. He replaced the edging. We could have gotten someone who would have sold us a new roof sooner than we needed to replace it. The experience was very good. The owner came out to look at the work while it was in progress. I plan on hiring them in five years for my new roof.

They did a very timely job. They came back once when the tarp had blown off. They took the time to fix it for us. They worked with the fact that we were out of town and did an excellent job.

Mike adapted to some unusual requirements of the City of Encinitas just to re-roof our duplex. The crew showed up on time and worked around the rain that was predicted this month in February, 2009.

Sequoia Roofing's owner (Mike) came to estimate my roof. He was on time and very personable. He measured my roof and then discussed several different options with me. The other two bidders that I had come out seemed as though they had much better things to do. Sequoia's pricing was right in line with the other two bidders. I chose Sequoia because I felt comfortable with them. The job went off perfectly. The owner was at my home everyday that work was being done. My roof is great. Sequoia is really the best company that I have ever had do work for me. I would never use another roofer.
