Description of Work: They put in a fence for me. It was fantastic, nothing but a positive things about them. They had to remove some roots and things and they did it free of charge. They did the backyard fence and some gates.

 + 0 moreInstalled sub-standard cedar planks in my opinion. Half the planks had 3 to 4 knot holes almost 2 inches large with see through cracks in them. When I complained about it they insisted it was grade 1 wood. I was told I would have to pay up to $9 a plank for better wood. They confirmed the wood was purchased from Home Depot. The Home Depot near me did not have that poor quality of wood when I visited. When I asked for a supervisor to come to my home to show my complaints, they refused. There were also gaps greater than a 1/4 inch in several areas. When I complained about that, I was told all the wood would eventually have gaps like that via aging. As if that was an excuse for initial poor workmanship.

 + -1 moreCalled on 6/26/2013 for a quote for a chain link fence. Took all of my info and said an estimator would call me back later that afternoon. Never heard back. Update: received a call with profuse apologies. Got the info I needed and it was much higher than other quotes I received. I may end up using them as he was far more detailed than the others. I just wanted to revise my review in fairness to them.

Description of Work: Estimator came to the house on the date of agreement and spent time measuring and taking notes to replace a fence. He promised that I would receive the estimate by Monday, no later than Tuesday. It would be in the mail. To this day, I have not received anything.

The lady on the phone took all my information down, then asked what work I need done. I was told on the phone my job did not meet their $1,000 min for them to come out to give me a bid. On one hand, I appreciate the upfront about the job wasn't big enough for them but then on the other hand there delivery was not very professional.

 + -1 moreWould recommend them, very thorough and professional. Did not use them due to availability of vinyl fence accent in darker color we wanted.
Description of Work: We got 3 quotes, San Diego Fence was in the final 2. Quote included removal of our old wooden fence and installation of new 5-6 foot vinyl fence around our home. Brett was professional and very responsive, he provided a competitive quote and was available anytime I had questions while we made our decision. His price point did not go up, even though we did not decide to get the work done until the summer. I really enjoyed working with Brett, ultimately it came down to color and availability in those colors. We decided to go with a darker color vinyl with an accent which the vinyl company they use does not make. Note: Darker colors are more expensive, and Brett requoted with our new choice. They were still very competitive, and although they could provide the privacy the darker color, they could not provide the accent feature.

 + -1 moreCalled 5 times, could not get an estimate from them. Last call they asked ME what day and time and the name of the estimator...a month ago! Going through house paperwork to find another company, I noted that part of the job was to replace fencing they did wrong 13 years ago! They are also the Home Depot Contractor, and 3 calls to them got me a promise of an estimate by 5:00 pm that day, but, of course, I never got one. Obviously doesn't want a big project of business, so, hey, we found someone else good!
Description of Work: Estimator came to the house on the agreed date and spent an hour taking notes for about 150 ft., two different fences. Promised estimate by the next day.

 + -1 moreI called their office for an estimate. A day later, I missed a phone call from an estimator. I called back within 15 minutes and office said he was out in the field and would give him my message. After no reply for a couple days, I called back again and asked for a return call. After still no reply, I called and left a message one more time. I have eliminated them as a contractor. It is apparent they do not want business. This is not an acceptable way to be treated by any service company. Their behavior shows no respect or consideration for the customer. I will not do business with a company like this.

 + -1 moreGet wood redelivered and pre stain it. also their contract exempts them from damaging hidden underground structures. They caused $450 in damage to sprinkler lines. There contract exempts them from being responsible from these damages. Though it would have been ethical for the workers to tell me when they broke sprinkler PVC lines when they were digging post holes. Then i could have marked the site. This would have save me time and $ digging a trench following the PVC to each broken site.
Description of Work: remove existing fence. Install eighty 10 foot posts. THen install complex comptemporay cedar fence on an uneven grade while keeping all pickets horizontal and correctly gapped. Installed Approx 325 linear feet to a height of 6'. Job took about 2 weeks.

 + -1 moreSix adjacent houses in our neighborhood got together to share the cost to replace our old cedar wood back and side yard fencing. ($3500 was our share for 1/2 of two sides and three gates.) Brett from San Diego Fence did an excellent job meeting with all the neighbors and coordinating the estimates and schedule. It took 3 weeks altogether to do all six yards. The work involved removing the old wood fencing, digging & cementing new post holes & installing the new fencing while taking into account differences in heights in the various yards and working around sprinklers systems, drains, plants, & other obstructions. The work crew did an excellent job and the fence looks great. All homes are happy with the new vinyl fence and gates.
Description of Work: Replaced old cedar wood backyard fence & gates with new Duramax vinyl fence & gates.

Description of Work: Replaced wood fence on East side with wood. Replaced wood fence in rear of house with wood fence. Installed new vinyl fence on front of property with walk through gate on East and double driveway gate on East. Installed pickets on West side fence.

Description of Work: They removed the old fence one day, did some prep work, and the following day installed the entire fence. They gave separate contracts so my neighbor and I could each pay our share. They were responsive to my email questions. Price was slightly better than the other 2 bids. All employees were polite and professional.

Description of Work: Excellent job, done on time and exactly as promised. This was a 60 foot back fence to replace one blown down during the San Diego Fires of 2007. The provided a full written estimate giving entire scope of work and materials used. They hauled away the old fence, dug new postholes near the old ones, dropped in pressure treated 4x4's (8ft) one one weekend. Next weekend they returned and installed the fence, a standard cedar affair with stringes on top and bottom, 8 inch planks, and a top board. 2.8 years later and I am still very pleased with quality and how the fence is holding up. They were worth the money to know I was dealing with a professional company.

They gave me 15% off at the end of the first week. They did what they said they would do. They showed up on the day they said they would show up. They completed the work in lesser time. They didn?t need all the time on the second day. I will definitely use them again in the future.
