+ -1 moreThis was an emergency situation at 5 PM as the springs on garage door broke and there was no way to open the door. Cars trapped inside and so were we! I contacted San Diego Door Pros and they told me they would rearrange their schedule to they could be at my house first thing the next morning! Andy arrived promptly at 8:15 and got right to work. I was so impressed with his punctuality, professionalism, and expertise. He was so congenial and easy to work with. Since nothing at my house is ever the "easy fix", (older home), there were some issues but Andy solved them quickly and the whole repair took less than hour! I am more than pleased with the customer service and technical service I received!

It was important that the garage door opening/closing be as quite as possible since it is directly under a bedroom. It is even better than we hope for. We have the quietest garage door in the neighborhood. Love it.

I appreciated how thorough the technician was and how he explained everything to me. My questions were all answered. There were no high-pressure sales tactics. I can recommend Garage Door Pros without reservation.
Description of Work: I moved into my present home in 2014. Built in 1975 as part of a senior community in Oceanside, it has been well-maintained but needs ongoing maintenance, repairs, and replacements. I have been especially focusing on safety. In May 2015, I was particularly concerned that the power garage door of my one-car garage was not opening or shutting smoothly. I was concerned about its stability and also had no idea what the condition of the motor was. I found Garage Door Pros on Angie's List. I was able to make an appointment with a 2-hour window of time. Their technician did an evaluation and then carefully explained what he had found. He showed me where the leading edge of the door -- the edge resting on the ground when the door is closed – was buckling and starting to crack. When the door was first installed, a strong metal bar was supposed to have been attached running the length of that edge, but it had not been. Therefore, the stability of the door was compromised and a crack was developing, running from the center of that door edge and extending upward into the panel . It was a potentially dangerous situation. I assumed I would have to replace the entire door and was seeing dollar signs flashing before my eyes. To my surprise, the technician told me that he could install a bar similar to the missing one and that would stabilize the door well enough to stop the progression of the buckling and cracking. The door should be good then for a few more years. He also examined the motor and the remote control system. Not surprisingly, given how those mechanisms had been functioning, he recommended replacing both the motor and the remote control system. I agreed. He was able to do most of the work that day and returned 4 days later to finish. He replaced rollers, lubricated everything, and programmed the remote and the motor. When he had finished all the work, he gave me a demonstration. I’m sure my jaw dropped open when the door started to move because it did not make a sound! I was completely amazed. The control mechanism on the garage wall was a big improvement on the old one and even was programmed to give the time and the temperature. The remote I put in my car is easy to use and has not given me any problems.

Daniel was finished at another job early, called ahead and waited for us to get home. He determined that a tune-up would not solve the problem and the opener needed to be replaced. He worked on it promptly and did a good job. The new opener is nice and quiet. Door Pro had previously done work on our rental homes and we have been very satisfied. We would definitely recommend this company.

+ 0 moreI initially contacted this company to get a garage opener installed on a pre-existing garage door. When the technician arrived, he stated he couldn't install it because the garage ceiling was too low and had to order a new door panel to fit the railing of the opener. I agreed to go through with it and he told me it would take a couple of weeks to get the new panel in. 1 month later and no word from them I called and sure enough the new panel had "just arrived". I scheduled the installation of the panel and the opener right away. A few days after the installation, the opener started to act weird and it would keep opening and closing and shaking my door. At some point, the top panel actually started bending from the force the opener put on it while attempting to open the door. So I was left with a bent door panel and a non working garage opener. Upon calling the company again, they replaced the opener who was deemed defective with a new one (a previous model, with less features, less expensive, but no refund whatsoever) and the promise they would order a new panel to replace the bent one from the malfunctioning door opener. Another month passed by and no word from the company. Avoid at all cost. Expensive, no communication and bad customer service.

Twice we tried to schedule with them and they did not keep the schedule. My tenants were scheduling with them. That was a rental that we owned. They were scheduling to try to get them to come out and all I got was a phone call from them saying that they did not show up. The pricing seemed fine if they just showed up.

The worked included adjusting the springs, balancing the door to ease the load on the lift motor, inspecting the cables, tightening all the nuts on the panels and rollers, lubricating everything and checked the door operation when finished. I am completely satisfied with Andy's work.

I contacted Angie's List and told them I just wanted the service and I still have not heard from San Diego Door Pros. This company obvesouly does not want to honor the coupon they sold me so I would like my $250.00 back.

+ 0 moreJustin came out to perform estimate. Professional, prompt, called prior to arrival. Showed me options for a standard door. Answered all my questions. Estimate sent via email the same day. Approved and made down payment for door the next day. Was told I would receive call to schedule on Monday, received the call a.week later. Confirmed the appointment and work to be done. Installation scheduled for 1-3 window over the phone, Daniel called around noon to say he would be at my house in 20 minutes. He said he would wait at my home for me On arrival, Daniel was professional and we reviewed the job. He didn't know about replacing the door jams. He called to clarify and they were able to deliver the materials so Daniel could move forward with the job. Daniel was efficient and explained some things he would have to do, which were not clarified in the estimate. But it didn't appear to be a big deal. Daniel said he would call me when 30 minutes from completion, as I couldn't stay at my home for the completion. I was able to return, review the work and make the payment. The door and motor work great. So quiet and functional. Would recommend them. Was told I would receive

There were additional charges beyond the big deal amount as I needed springs for the door. It was another couple of hundred for the springs. The follow up service was very good.
