Carlos and his team were great to work with. They completed the job earlier than expected and it looks amazing . They were great to communicate with and overall we were very pleased. Worth every penny!

These guys were amazing! Carlos walked the property initially and provided a very reasonable quote for painting the exterior of my house - a 1927 craftsman in desperate need of scrapping, patching and painting. On the day work began, Carlos and his crew arrived. He took time to introduce his crew and reviewed the work to be completed and timeline once again. Every day the crew showed up on time, worked, cleaned up and knocked on the door to say goodbye at the end of their work day. Carlos remained in touch thruout the project and his lead guy on site always checked in with any questions or to discuss areas in need of repair due to discovered wood rot. The job completed one day longer than originally quoted but that was due to additional work I added to the job. I highly recommend Carlos and his crew. They are a professional family owned business with considerate and skilled workers. We will definitely recommend to to those we know in need of professional painting services.

Carlos and his staff were great! They paid attention to details, were clean, and if anything needed touch up they did it with a smile and “no problem”. They were pleasant and easy to work with. Do not use this company. Horrible experience. Prepare to have your intelligence insulted. No knowledge of customer service. I RARELY review anyone because I know the power of negative reviews. This was only my experience. Your mileage may vary. First day only 1 worker shows up despite a promise of having 2-3 workers. Carlos knew my timeline and pressure to get our tenants in by the end of the week. Each day the new lease was pushed back cost us $100. Carlos promised to meet me at 8. As I am on the way he tells me he will be there at 10. First day I find painters were cleaning brushes in my bathroom sink and paint all over BRAND NEW faucets. No answers, just excuses. The next day more of the same. Of course the toilets were used with little respect for my property. Job included resurfacing and new texture on ceiling. Only done because I wanted improve for resale. Carlos specifically agreed to SKIM, SAND PRIME and PAINT. Later I catch painter trying to avoid actually using paint on the ceiling. After asking where the flat ceiling paint was, I had another long argument with Fabian about how they always use one product to seal prime and paint in 1 step. A PRIMER primes the surface for a finish coat. Why am I having this discussion, I was promised paint. After listening to the call (on speaker) between the painter and Carlos, including the insults in Spanish directed to me, they agreed to buy the paint. This of course lead to a later argument about how and why it needed a second coat. I had to request repeatedly that Fabian remove the two light fixtures. I reminded him the ceiling needed to be sanded after skim coat. Fabian and Carlos refused to do either. I spent more time with them arguing then it would take to remove the light fixtures. Instead they skim coated AROUND the lights even after I explained we intend to relocate lights or might put in can lights. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to match texture later and why should I have to. His response was, “you never asked to remove lights”. Fabian reluctantly agreed to remove light leaving us with a large unmatching texture area which still is slightly visible. Fabian later tells me Carlos told him NOT to remove the lights. They then sprayed a thin texture of orange peel on the ceiling. I pointed out the finish was to be a medium texture to blend with existing variances on walls. I pointed out it still showed defects and swirl marks from the original skim coat which they refused to SAND as promised. It was also obvious that after priming and painting, the thin finish would likely disappear revealing only the visible defects. More arguing and they spray a second fine orange peel, at least in some areas. This was a little better but still shows waves and irregular surface. Fabian, as always responds “COME ON MAN… ”. I pointed out to him chunks and blobs of texture on the ceiling which obviously could have be knocked off but they of course are still there, PAINTED over. Every bedroom wall revealed roller marks on the ceiling which I later had to touch up. I was told they were there previously. No one raised this point with me until after I raised the issue after they left the job. This was amazing since we never used this color before and it perfectly matched the wall color they just rolled. While ceilings were not included, the touch up was, they simply never did it. They left the job without repairing a door knob hole.The walls also were covered most of the time and it was behind the door that was mostly left open. Exterior work left overspray on wood fascia because Fabian was rushing to go home and did not mask it.This required me to go out on a Sunday morning to color match paint at my expense to finish a job for tenant move in later that day. After they left I found paint on window frames, screens and glass because it was not masked. I had to clean all myself while I was simultaneously trying to take care of a long list of things for tenant move in. I then found and removed paper and tape they left on the garage window inserts. New trim installed by Fabian has hammer damage marks he was to lazy to putty over and sand before painting .His reply...”COME ON MAN" and telling me he needs cerveza. Fabian also caused damage to stucco when they replace a section of rotted wood siding. They didn't bother to mention the stucco damage they caused and didn’t even bother to caulk it. I guess they thought I would not notice. I spent much time cleaning paint off light switch face plates because they were too lazy to remove them. Blinds were not reinstalled, light fixtures were not remounted, etc.... A screen security door was to be cleaned of old paint drips and clogs but instead they painted right over it making it look worse than when we started. Areas that were to be repaired from prior bad texture and to level out some walls was done to average quality at best and only after REPEATEDLY showing how the areas still not level. Fabian’s response, “COME ON MAN”.... THE TOPPER was CARLOS calling me a liar when I pointed out things found after the job on Sunday evening. While our arrangement was to pay upon completion I received numerous request for payment before the job was done. One included a guilt trip about having to feed his family. One would expect that with a long “punch list”, Carlos would walk the job and address my concerns. I never expected perfection but at least an “above average job”. If I wanted an average I would have done it myself! Carlos claimed that I had walked the entire job with another worker and didn't say anything. I explained I had only walked in the house for 1 minute with Moises (with whom I could barely communicate) to make sure that he had rerolled a door with the proper semi gloss paint after he had used the WRONG satin finish paint earlier in the day. Instead of offering to resolve these issues he responds by asking me whether he needs to file a small claims lawsuit on Monday? If this sounds like a company you want to work with good luck. Carlos obviously is struggling, bidding jobs too low, and trying to cut corners to make a profit. He has ZERO customer service skills, poor communication and his painters and average at best.

Carlos and his crew were very professional, courteous, and clean. Carlos and his crew actually finished ahead of schedule and were a pleasure to be around, let alone to work with. Can't recommend them enough!

To start this was my 2nd time using Angie’s List and I would like to say, so far so good. I will definitely use the website again. As for Rubio’s Painting Services, the company delivered exactly what it promised AND MORE! The whole process was super quick and easy. I filled out the info regarding what I needed done late one night and by morning Carlos had already called me about scheduling an appointment the next day for a walk through to discuss a price, (which included the paint), date, time, as well as what needed to be moved/taken down, etc.. On the first day Carlos sent a text message letting me know of his approximate arrival time, and once he arrived he got to work straight away. Just a little back story, I had a difficult time taking down the curtain rods and moving some of the furniture since I was alone, but Carlos didn’t bat an eye, he said no worries and he took care of everything. Since I’m renting I wanted to go with the same color the owner had already used in certain rooms, but was unsure how to go about purchasing the paint and making sure that it matched. Thankful Carlos took care of that for me, he matched the paint perfectly! Carlos finished a huge chunk of the painting the first day by himself, and honestly after he left I found myself excited because he had already done such a great job that I couldn’t wait to see the finished product. Carlos had already informed me of the employee he would have finishing the job the following day, he also came over the next day with that employee to introduce us and go over the plan. By the end of the day everything was finished, and not only was it completed to my satisfaction, but in each room I had painted the room was left as clean as it was when the job was started, no drips, and not even as much as a piece of tape was left anywhere. My experience with Rubio’s Painting Services, as well as Carlos in particular, was amazing!!! In the future for any painting services, Carlos will be my first phone call. Thank you. ~Wendy 😊

They did a very professional job protecting the floor and walls. They moved all furniture that was in the way. They did a super job of cleanup, other than the newly painted ceiling you would not even know they had been here.

Excellent work. Carlos arrived on time to introduce his painter and direct the work. Painter exceeded our expectations. Careful around detail. Good clean-up when finished, very pleased. I will call Rubio's for any work in the future.

Carlos did an amazing job his staff is prompt as always they communicated exactly what they were going to do and when they were going to do it. They have painted the exterior of my house and the interior of my house and the work has been outstanding.
