I was ignorant of the fact that you should not let a roofer know who you are getting another estimate from because they may know each other and elevate their prices to match--even thought the nature of the two jobs are totally different.
Description of Work: I contacted RSI for an estimate for roofing my house with 30 year OC asphalt shingles. The estimate was reasonable but I called the next day to put the project on hold until I could decide on trying to salvage my metal roof. According to the contract the estimate was good for 30 days. In the interim, I contacted and almost committed to another company to salvage the metal roof for a much higher price. However I decided against that option after contacting the maker of the aluminum, who advised against pulling all the shingles and applying new felt. Finally I went back to Mr. Torres at RSI and was told that the two companies new each other and had talked. He said he needed to re-figure the proper roofing of my house and the new bid would be at least 4,000 more--it now needed new sheathing. Within 24 hours the price went up to 18,400 because the "price of plywood had gone up". This behavior is unethical and better to discover before entering into a roofing job.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY COMPETITIVE AND SEEMED TO RETURN CALLS MUCH FASTER THAN OTHER COMPANIES. SOME OTHER RAIN GUTTER COMPANIES HAVE YET TO RETURN MY INITIAL CALL REQUESTING A QUOTE.
Description of Work: INSTALLATION OF SEAMLESS RAIN GUTTERS ALL AROUND THE HOUSE. TO INCLUDE DOWNSPOUTS AND IN COLORS TO MATCH THE FASCIA AND THE STUCCO.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE NOT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY DID PROVIDE THE INSURANCE AND LICENSING THAT WE HAD ASKED FOR. JOB TOOK A BIT LONGER THAN QUOTED, BUT LOOKS REALLY NICE. WOULD RECOMMEND THE COMPANY TO OTHERS.
Description of Work: INSTALLED 30 YEAR SHINGLES ON THE ENTIRE HOUSE AFTER TEARING OFF THE EXISTING ROOFING MATERIAL. APPROXIMATELY 1800 SQ. FEET.
