Roy L Schwartz & Son Tree Service

Roy is the best and most knowledgeable tree service provider we've ever used. He's reasonable and excellent. We highly recommend him.

I had tried to go with another company, but had some issues, so I called Roy to see if they performed the bush removal. He came out to provide a quote, and we went ahead and scheduled the work. This is the 3rd time I have used his services. Always on time, cleans up, takes care of business. My neighbor actually hired him on the spot to trim his trees while he was here. My wife thought they got a little carried away and went running out to stop them, but they explained that the neighbor had seen them doing the work and hired them while they were on site. Can't go wrong with Roy and team.

Roy came out to follow-up on his workers. His son actually led the crewof 4 this time. They were punctual, neat and extremely courteous. The stump grinder would not fit through the side yard, but they were able to bring it through the house on my approval. Again, they were extremely neat in doing this.

I sent a message through Angie's list requesting a quote on 1/31/2013. Roy called that afternoon and said he could come out to give me a quote the next day. When I reminded him it was New Year's Day, he said it was ok and he could come if it was ok with me. It was, he came on time, gave me a fair quote, and agreed to come out the next morning to do the job. When we talked about the scope of the job, he was knowledgable about the growth pattern of the tree, how it should be trimmed and coaxed to grow. I appreciated his knowledge and his obvious concern for the proper care of the tree. I was surprised when just his son showed up the next morning to do the job but he went right to work and in about 45 minutes, the trimming and thinning was almost complete. He asked for my input and offered suggestions when I asked questions. He was very thorough in his work and left my yard and neighbor's yard immaculate. The entire job was done in less than two hours. I was extremely pleased with the entire process. I highly recommend their services.

He was great, but we have not been able to put that project on the front burner yet. He seemed really competent and knowledgeable. He looked at the bark of a tree and pointed out three different things which I would never have noticed. He really knew what he was talking about.

They did a good job. They did great. They were really good. The guy was efficient and he did everything I expected him to do. He cleaned up. I have no problems with them.

Everything went very smoothly. Brian Schwartz assessed the work that we wanted done and provided the estimate. When we had further questions on the BioBarrier, Roy Schwartz came by to look over the situation we were facing with the root growth and answered all our questions. Brian and an assistant did all the work in 2 days. They were punctual, informative and professional in their work. They left the work areas clean and hauled away all the debris. We were very pleased with the whole experience and will have them back when the trees need further trimming and shaping.

I called Roy on Sunday afternoon informing him that I am a property manager for a commercial property that has a 100 year old Live Oak historical tree that has fallen over that must be removed Monday, for Haute Pink to be able to open for normal business hours Tuesday morning. He went out on Sunday, gave me an estimate of $2400 and promised me that they could complete the job the following day. He brought in several crews, and they cut up this tree in 8 hours. I countred 9 trucks filled with debris pulling away, 3 pick up loads of fire wood I took as well. They were very professional, very friendly. Good people. They will always be my tree company in the future.

When I called to set up an appointment for a fairly small job, I was told that it would cost $200.00 just to come out for an estimate and when I described what needed to be done the lady said it would be about $650.00!!! How can this be, especially when other companies I called gave FREE estimates? Was someone playing a trick on me? Needless to say I gave my business to another company.

Great job! They arrived on time and did a great job! They had a lot to do since I had not had the trees trimmed in a while and they were growing out of control. Everything looks great!

Excellent -- as usual. Roy is now my go-to tree expert and trimmer. If only all businesses would work as professionally, efficiently, punctually, and honestly as Roy, our world we be a better place.

The owner was the only one of 3 individuals who came out to give us an estimate. It was exactly in the ballpark of what we thought it would cost. We had a flowering pear that towered over our house and looked dead from fire blight. We were told that they would be out at 8 am to remove the tree, and they were. The tree was removed and the debris was chipped and hauled away. The wood was cut into fireplace lengths and stacked and the stump was ground. All the leaves and debris was cleaned up. Except for the bare spot you would never know we had a tree removed. Fantastic work and service!

Roy came out when he said he would and did a great job stumping a 3 foot tall 3 foot in diameter palm tree stump. He got right to work and made quick work of the stump. He made sure the work area was cleaned up and hauled off the stump reminisce.

Our front yard was dominated by a Chinese Elm. The previous owner had it topped for years and when we moved in, we let the tree grow--and boy did it grow. Roy came out and recommended raising the crown and thinning to keep the natural integrity of the tree. He was right and Brian transformed the wild mess into beautiful tree. In addition, Roy and Brian brought down our fruitless mulberry tree. It was a difficult decision to take out an established shade tree but the tree was not well maintained prior to our ownership. It was planted too close to the house, thus the previous owner topped it every year causing heart rot in the trunk. Roy and Brian were careful to bring the branches away from the roof/house to ensure cuts would not cause branches to fall on or damage the house. Once the tree was down, the stump was ground beneath the surface. Also time was taken to grind out the surface roots. Clean up was spotless for both trees and the mulberry tree (per our request) was mulched and left for us to use around the yard. Overall, the experience was great and I will use Roy L. Schwartz Tree Service again in the future. However, I was a bit disappointed with the answering service. When I called to schedule service, there were too many days between my call and a return call from Roy. I'm not sure if it was just a fluke or an area that could be improved but I'm glad I waited it out because the result of the actual tree service has given me a new love for my Chinese Elm.

Roy and his crew were VERY knowledgeable, meticulous and kind. This 5-man crew worked long hours to get our common area in pristine condition. We had huge tress that needed to be laced, trimmed and cut back. One of Roy's crew members had 30 years of experience and did a knock out job lacing and trimming our trees. I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the overall tree trimming and tree cutting services. The entire crew cleaned up after themselves, leaving our common free of tree trimming debris. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. More importantly, this is a father-son company which is evident when Roy and his son work side, by side. It is nice to see a family owned business run smoothly and efficiently.

I found Roy L Schwartz and Son on Angie's list. Roy and his crew arrived promptly and arranged their truck and chipper so they wouldn't block the neighbors' driveway access. They carefully removed limbs from the elm tree that were hanging over the neighbor's garage. They laced out the elm while maintaining it's shape and correcting problems from a previously bad trimming. They removed years of accumulated needles from the pine tree and trimmed a few problem branches. They treated the pine tree for red spider mites and other bugs. In forty years this is the best trimming job performed on the elm tree. It is beautiful. The pine tree, which was very messy, is now very clean and green. Roy and his crew were very careful and professional in all aspects of the job. Roy applied the Angie's List discount to the price, and I believe it was a very good value. I highly recommend them.

Mr. Schwartz was professional. I sent him a photo of the tree and described what i wanted done. He promptly responded with a reasonable estimate. He showed up right on time and did a professional job. I didn't even have to remind him of the AngiesList discount -- after I wrote him a check based on the original estimate, he pointed out the discount and had me write him a corrected check!

Roy and his son were right on time. They were very careful, and took the time to get everything done right. They cleaned up the yard, sidewalks and street so it's hard to tell they were even here. Very fair price, very polite. I'm glad I got them.

Roy's estimate was a little bit higher than a couple others I received, however he gave me a discount when I asked for it, and most importantly, he was at the site the entire day and worked in the tree himself. Roy is a Certified Arborist, and finding one of those guys (do your research, some claim to be but are not) that wanted to do the work, let alone stay for the entire job is rare. Another Arborist I interviewed was half the price, but he would give direction at the office to his crew, and they would come out alone. For that, I could hire a standard tree cutter - not an Arborist. Roy and his team were able to do the work a week after the estimate, they arrived promptly on the site, were professional and kind (answering my questions throughout the day), and did an excellent clean-up when they were done. The tree is shaped perfectly and now structured safely. At the end of the day Roy met with me, went over my remaining questions, and gave me advice on how to take care of the tree now and in the future. I couldn't have asked for a better job and I'll be calling them back in a few years for a follow-up trim.

The project went smoothly. The workmen did a very nice job, despite having to work around a stuccoing project that was going on at the same time.

I had Roy and his team remove two different trees between two visits. I had a large pine tree in my front yard that was too close to the house, and a very ugly palm tree in my back yard. I had called several different tree servicing companies, and only Roy showed up. Her gave me a quote for both tree's, but I could only get one done at a time with several months in between. His team came out promptly at 8am both times and quickly took down the trees, ground the stump down, and cleaned up the mess. Definitely would use again if I had any more trees.

I spoke with another arborist about the work of lacing and treating our very large pine tree but did not have confidence in his knowledge and expertise. When Roy Schwartz came, it was immediately evident that he is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He immediately recognized that our tree had spider mites, which caused browning and excessive dead needles. He knew exactly how to treat the tree and recognized the care needed in trimming to achieve our desired goal of preserving the beauty of the tree while trimming it way back from the house and garage. Roy explained to me how he would trim the tree in order to suppress rapid growth rather than trimming it to encourage growth. Since our tree is already huge we don't want rapid growth. We want a healthy well-shaped tree that is not overly heavy on the branches in order to avoid breakage of limbs. Roy is the only tree trimmer we have ever used who really understands the finer points of tree trimming. (The other arborist I spoke with didn't even know what spider mites are.) Roy and his son did the job in one day and Roy treated the tree for the spider mites and also fertilized it and applied iron to help it green up. He and his son did an outstanding job. We plan to stick with Roy Schwartz and Son for all our tree-trimming needs. This is the best trimming company we've ever used - by far. We are really happy with the results.

It went very well. There was just a little miscommunication with the week end answering service about who was getting back to whom. However, once we got the estimate appointment, it was kept promptly. The actual work was done on time, very efficiently and professionally. Exceptional cleanup - they had their onw heavy dudty mulcher and lift. There was not one branch or leaf left behind. Our Angie's List coupon was honored.
