Description of Work: The heater vent stack and cover, that comes through the roof had rusted away. Rick came out, told me how they would make the repairs, and got the estimate to me shortly after his inspection. I scheduled the repair, and Ricks guys were on time, courteous, worked efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards. I have used RC Roofing before and would use them again.

Description of Work: We contacted 3 roofing companies in Oct to get a bid for a new roof. Since the Calif rainy season is coming up, the companies said they were backed up with work. One company said he would do a "drive by" and give us an estimate, what a Joke. Another company said they were backed up, but would schedule us for an estimate in about 3 weeks. We also contacted RC Roofing at the same time as the other two and were told that they were backed up with work, but would get out to us within two days to give us an estimate. |Rick came out, climbed onto the roof and in 30 min was done and said he would email us a bid in two days. He also said that he had a backlog of work and would not be able to begin work for us until 2nd week in Dec. if we chose his firm. The bid came in as promised and was quite reasonable and we decided to go with RC Roofing. |The roofers were professional and accommodating. We had purchased 3 solar attic fans which they installed for us. It took four days to tear off and install the new roof. The last day they were working frantically to finish as a rain storm was coming in. The new roof looks great and no leaks. |I want to thank Rick, and I would recommend his company, good workers, good attitude, solid workmanship.

Description of Work: This very busy Roofing Company said that they were booked up for the next 10 weeks, but squeezed me in within 2 weeks because I was scheduled to have major surgery and I was worried that our roof leak would cause more damage if we had to wait 10 weeks, considering the heavy rain forecast for this winter. I was very impressed with all aspects of their work and would highly recommend them!

+ -1 moreRC roofing did a great job. Took a few more days then I thought it would. But they finished the job in less then a week. Cleaned the area around my house. Picked up all trash. Left me a few extra tiles as my style tile is not made anymore.
Description of Work: I had leaks in the front part of my roof. Rick came out and inspected the roof informed me that flashing was gone from solar panels and he would re-roof the front half of the roof. I had the solar system removed and RC showed up on time to remove the roof and repaper. The solar company was then to install stanchions for the new solar panel. RC roofing worked well with the solar company. Set up times with them and then informed me of the schedule.

+ -1 moreThe RC Roofing crew arrived right on time and quickly went to work. These people were very efficient, polite and cleaned up everything when they left. We were told our job would take a little over a day which was right on. Mr. Clark also was kind enough to secure some loose tiles in an area of our roof separate from the affected area at no charge.
Description of Work: RC Roofing repaired the roof on our 22 year old home. After performing a thorough inspection, Mr.Clark proposed installing two layers of 40# tile underlayment over about 1,000 square feet of our roof. He found tile which matched ours exactly to replace ones which had become weathered and broken. He recommended using metal pipe flashings to replace existing ones which had been mortared and had failed. Richard improved the drainage pattern in all of the valleys of our roof to decrease the risk of leaking in the future and offered a ten year warranty on his work. I should also mention we consulted an independent home inspector before the job started. Our consultant also did a thorough roof inspection and agreed completely with the recommendations made by RC Roofing.

+ -1 moreAfter a major rain storm, I discovered a severe leak in my master bedroom clothing closet. Called Dick Clark and he came out the same day to look at the roof. Very impressed with his knowledge of the job and his quick attention. More rain was due to come within two days so the job had to be completed quickly. The next day, the contract was signed and Dick came out immediately to fix the leak. In addition, he also repaired other areas of the roof where tiles were missing. This was completed before the next rain storm. I was very impressed with his immediate attention to my problem. He came out quickly, assessed the damage, drew up the contract and made the repairs. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof or a roof repair. Also, the price was just as was quoted and not a penny more.

+ -1 moreRick Clark (owner) couldn't have been nicer, more responsive and helpful. He explained everything from beginning to end, including taking digital pictures of the damaged area so we could see for ourselves what the problem was without climbing ladders. He found that the main problem was the volume of water that hit the leaking area from the roof line above and had to use some creative thinking to customize the repairs. He was also able to tell us that the leak was direct and hadn't gotten behind the walls, thereby saving us time and money from tearing out the inside walls in case of mold. It was a thoroughly satisfying experience and well worth every penny. We have asked Rick to come back in the new year to review our entire roof for potential problems.
Description of Work: During the first big rain storm this season, we found a leak in our living room ceiling that was producing a lot of water. We had huge containers to catch it, but it was hard to keep up. I jumped on Angie's list and found RC Roofing. Rick called me that night and came out the next day to see the damage. He found the problem right away and said he was going to try really hard to finish the work before the second storm hit. He was swamped with calls, so we were prepared to use buckets again. But he scheduled his team as soon as he received the required materials and got us water tight by Thursday afternoon just before the rain. The next day he completed installing the last specialized metal piece he had to make himself. They replaced 250 sq. feet of our roof which had rotten wood, worn paper, broken clay tiles, and sub-par flashing and diverters.

He took photos of the problem areas on the roof and submitted them to us, along with his bid, the next day. He was actually able to do the work a week earlier than promised. The job cost exactly what he estimated.
Description of Work: A leaking skylight was repair. The ridge caps on 300' of roof were replaced since they had burned out.

+ -1 moreWe interviewed 4 roofing companies before selecting RC Roofing. Rick impressed us as being very knowledgeable, straightforward, friendly and helpful. Before beginning the roofing project we needed help taking off an existing solar panel system. Rick connected us with a solar company out of El Cajon who did a great job as well. Rick's crew (headed up by Carson) was extremely professional, respectful and hard working. Rick was on site frequently; my husband went up on the roof with him each day to survey the progress. Our house was especially challenging due to the amount of square feet (over 4500) and the number of skylights. When cloudy weather and the hint of showers threatened the exposed wood sheathing on Day 2, Rick's crew worked extra hours to lay the felt underlaynment. Rick and Carson explained what was happening every step of the way. Phone calls were returned promptly and the entire experience went well. The new roof is gorgeous!
Description of Work: RC Roofing tore off our existing roof to wood sheathing. They installed 1 layer of felt underlay, new galvanized pipe and vent flashings, drip edge metal to the perimeter of the roof, chimney flashings, and 17 skylight flashings! We selected an Owens Corning Woodcrest 50 year Class A shingle. RC Roofing cleaned up and hauled away all debris on a daily basis.

During the job, I had a question about the ridge vent and Rick sent out his foreman (I'm sorry, but I can't remember his name), who came out right away, brought a sample of the ridge vent and thoroughly explained the process to me. The owner, Rick was quick to return phone calls and got the job done within a week of our first meeting. The estimate was more than $2000 less than the next cheapest estimate, but they did quality work and used quality parts. I am very pleased. They are also a member of the Better Business Bureau with no complaints on file. That's a biggie for me. I won't use any contractor who is not a member and/or has complaints.
Description of Work: They removed and disposed of the old shingles and put new shingles on the roof of my house and garage, which are two separate buildings. They also installed 3 dormer roof vents and 90 feet of ridge vent on the house and replaced some of the wood that was in bad shape.

He was very available to us and did everything when he said he would. The job started on schedule and finished 5 days later also on schedule. The workers were very courteous and we are very pleased with the final result.
Description of Work: Tore off old flat roof which was leaking. Replaced damaged plywood and then replaced flat roof and put in holders for a solar panel. Arranged for a plumber to come in and re-flash some pipes.

+ -1 moreAfter explaining all the work that was going to have to be done I was amazed at how reasonable his estimate was! I thought, at this price lets just get a new roof! I asked Rick how much a new Roof would cost and he explained that wasn't yet necessary and with the repair he described we could put off a new roof for maybe another 10 years. What a straight shooter! The next day I found a nice group of hard working guys working on our roof and could already see the roof was looking a lot more uniform. Rick offered to take me up on the roof (at my own risk) to show me the quality of work that had been done. I am no roofing expert but it wasn't hard to tell the sheer amount of quality work that had been done by these guys. I was more than pleased and was more than happy to write that check and buy the whole crew dinner. RC Roofing did an awesome Job and I would not hesitate to use them again!
Description of Work: About 1/4 of our roof needed all the tiles pulled off, all new paper replaced, broken tiles replaced, all metal flashing around chimney and skylights replaced, mortar around all joints and edges, many portions of the rood needed to be re-affixed. The roof was in BAD shape! It hadn't been touched in 15 years which had caused a recent leak.

+ -1 moreAfter the owner, Rick, came over to look at the roof prior to giving me my estimate, I hoped that his bid wouldn't be too high, because I really wanted him to do the job! (The price was great.) I got estimates from four different companies, and Rick far and above impressed me the most. He was super friendly (without being phony), knowledgeable, enthusiastic, accessible, and seemed totally sincere about doing the best job possible for me. I had a lot of questions, and he patiently explained everything and anything in great detail. He started exactly on the day and time that we agreed upon, and finished in a quick 2.5 days. The roof looks great. His workers and subcontractors were great, too. (OK, the huge shingle delivery truck made some tracks in my lawn. Not too thrilled about that; neither was Rick. Not a big deal.) I don't know what else to say, except that I'd highly recommend them to anyone, and I wish that all my experiences with contractors/tradesmen were like this one. A+++
Description of Work: Tore off three layers of composition shingles. Repaired rotten/termite-damaged sheathing boards, fascia boards, and rafter tails. Installed felt underlayment, metal drip edges, new pipe and vent flashing, three turbine vents, and new 40 year composition shingles. Cleaned-up, and hauled away debris.

After I accepted his bid, which was lower than El Cajon Roofing, he called me to give a schedule ETA; luckily, before rain season (I had the roof done in November, 2005.) Thereafter, he called me earlier than I expected which was fine, and as it turns out I was out of town on business. He showed up anyway and he and his staff had my roof completely done after I got home after a 5 day trip. There was a lot of old shingles which left a mess in the garage, but that's my fault because I store a lot in the rafters. However, his people really did a good job cleaning up. I feel lucky to have him doing the job. The roof looks great, the color was perfect, he gave me advice on some of the metal underlinings and helped me to pick the ''right look'' for my house. The price was good; he didn't even make me pay until the work was completely done. He was responsible and highly recommended to do your roof.
Description of Work: Rick redid my roof for my 1344 sq home in Bay Park. Because it so badly needed it (when I bought my home in 1995 the appraiser said it needed a new roof in 5 years) I thought it would be a lot worse. His company gave me an estimate that beat out El Cajon Roofing (my second estimate) especially because he only charged me the parts (i.e. replacement wood) for parts of the roof which were rotted, etc., instead of also including the labor (which could be significant). He had comparable shake shingle colors and the right way of placing the shingles over the roof lines.
