Progressive Security Screens

I found the company as I was looking for a security screen door that wasn't ugly. I found the Progressive Security Screens website. It is a San Diego company that locally builds/installs a product line from Australia. The product is exactly what I wanted - it looks like a plain screen door - provides great ventilation and visibility thru it but it is also full on security as it is metal mesh so it can be cut thru and it is on a solid metal frame with various features that make it very secure. I called and made an appointment for them to come out and measure my door and four weeks later the door was completed and installed. It is a small company and one of the owners did the first appointment (Todd) and the second (Mike) did the install. Both were on time, answered all my questions, were professional and I could tell were very proud of the product they sold. The cost is more than the and quot;off the shelfand quot; product at Lowe's or Home Depot but it is a beautiful product and I feel well worth the price. It gives you the security but also looks great as you don't see it and can see the decorative front door thru it - it is like an old fashioned screen door. The company also make screens for windows - luckily my house is 2 story so I can leave upstairs bedroom windows open at night so I don't have need for security screens on windows. I have no idea why you don't see more of this product especially in higher end homes as it looks great while providing great security.

Jeff Clay did the installation of a white framed sliding screen door made by CrimSafe on my existing sliding patio door frame. Nice quality product,Australian company manufactures stainless steel screen mesh doors and windows that provide more privacy, security and solar protection than standard screens. Fits right over your existing door or window frame. Jeff did a fantastic job installing the door, then returned a few weeks later to install a large dog door. Of note - the sliding plastic cover to keep the pets from going through the flap normally goes on the outside, which means you have to open the door and slide the plastic cover in from the outside. This is a security flaw, since a burglar could remove it and crawl through the dog door flap. Jeff was able to customize the dog door so that the cover can slide in from the inside, which means I have the ability to lock the dog door from inside the house and someone on the outside cannot remove the flap and get into the house through the dog door.
