PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC REPAIR

My wife and daughter were visiting San Diego, and my daughters camera got sand in the lens. They did an online search and found this business and it was close to where they were staying. The cost of the repair actually exceeded the cost of a new camera - and the company should have informed them at that time (the camera was a gift). The repair caused other problems with the camera, so it was taken back. When the camera was not completed before they had to leave, the company agreed to have the camera sent home at no cost since it was warranty work. Several weeks later, we still had no camera, and several calls got us "the run-around". they told us the camera was done, but we needed to pay for shipping, and we pointed out that they wrote it on the invoice that the shipping was free. Then they told us the camera was not done, and the "technician" was not available to tell us when it would be done. My daughter was leaving for Egypt (exchange student) and we wanted it in time for her to take it with her when she left. They told us it was done, and that it would be sent out immediately. Days before my daughter left for Egypt, the camera still had not shown up. I called and they could not find it, so it must have shipped out. I asked for a tracking number so I could check on it, and they had no shipping info for it. We had to purchase another camera for my daughter, and that's when I found out the true cost/value of the camera. I also contacted a local camera repair shop regarding the camera, and they recommended replacing the camera vice a repair due to the replacement/repair cost (that is how an honest company operates!). I called this company back and demanded that they return the camera, I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get the camera back. In the end, they said it was repaired - and it wasn't! The camera still "locks up" all the time, and the camera actually turns itself on periodically, so we have to remove the batteries when we're not using it.

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC REPAIR WAS TOP NOTCH. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER...JUST A MOM WHO TAKES A LOT OF PICTURES. THE CAMERA REPAIRED BELONGED TO MY MOTHER SO IT WAS VERY PRECIOUS TO ME. THEY REPAIRED IT AND ALSO CLEANED AND REFURBISHED A FEW THINGS AT NO CHARGE TO ME. THEY GAVE AN EXACT COST TO DO THE JOB AND THEY WERE ON TIME--SOMETHING RARE THESE DAYS!!
