What a difference a day makes! Richard and Nicholas of Point Loma Electric installed a chandelier (replacing 2 canned lights), pendant lights, ?eyeball? lights, replaced all of my other canned lights with LED-retrofit lights to save energy, and fixed two of my ceiling fan remotes that were on the same frequency and they did a fantastic job! The chandelier and pendants made a huge difference in my dining room and kitchen ? it?s beautiful! I chose them for several reasons: 1. Richard and Nicholas both are very experienced, knowledgeable, personable, and very meticulous, so I was completely confident that the job would be done right the first time! 2. They patched the holes where they removed the canned lights in my dining room and a couple of other small holes to run the wiring ? I only had to repaint the areas they patched! 3. I didn?t have to find a dry-wall contractor to patch the small holes when they were finished ? they did everything! It looked great and I felt great that I was done! 4. They asked for my input regarding the height of the chandelier and the pendant lights! 5. They gave me an Angie?s list subscriber discount! 6. They are an Angie?s list contractor with an excellent reputation! When Richard came to give me the estimate, he walked through my house with me as I identified the list of things I wanted completed. He explained in detail what he needed to do for each item on the list and was very thorough as was the estimate. I will be a loyal customer of Point Loma Electric because of Richard?s and Nicholas? expertise, thoroughness and kind and helpful personalities. Thank you Point Loma Electric!

All I can say is: Wow! What a great company. From my first phone contact with Keira to the outstanding work done by Hunter and Joe, my expectations were exceeded. The work was done professionally and with no delay. I can't thank you enough for helping me in an emergency situation of water dripping out of a ceiling fixture. The replacement of the fluorescent lights with recessed cans was done beautifully. They even spackled the holes from the previous fixtures and disposed of them for me. I will definitely be using Point Loma Electric from now on. Many, many thanks to Hunter, Joe, and Keira, you rock!

Not sure if it was needed, as we had the city come out a few months before to permit an add on, and they did not mention an upgraded was needed._x000D_|I asked him for a quote to simply pull a tv cord through an existing cut out hole in the wall. He wanted to charge $75 for that simple task._x000D_|

We called Point Loma Electric to complete the installation of a bathroom fan. Hunter was able to provide a fair estimate and even offered to come out that same day to take care of the installation. Hunter was very polite and he showed the upmost respect when he came in our house and even offered to take his shoes off. He was working the whole time and I never saw him deviating from the task. Within an hour everything was set up and working great. He thanked us for choosing Point Loma Electric and went on his way. We will definitely be calling Point Loma Electric again for future jobs and I would recommend their work to anyone.

It was excellent, the two persons on the job worked fast and the whole job was done in just a couple of hours. One light stopped working after a few weeks and after calling them, a replacement was brought in less than a couple of hours and installed at no charge.

Purchased coupon for inspection and minor electrical work for home in Coronado. Inspection was through and they provided a written report. They were authorized to and properly replaced 3 GFIs. Work was professional but, in my opinion was expensive for type of repair and fact that coupon was included a minor electrical repair--although they did provide an Angies List 10% discount on the additional work. I will consider using them again, but the final decision will depend on pricing.

Originally I wanted to fix a ceiling fan that went on by itself and then have LED lights installed overhead in place of existing ceiling lights in the kitchen. At the time, the service person (who was polite and professional) said the fan would cost more that I planned, but I decided to go ahead even though I thought it was a bait and switch. I declined the LED installation which would be more because the existing lights were substandard. However, I was really impressed with what happened next. The company called me after seeing what had occurred, apologized for the extra expense for the fan and refunded it, and explained that they had bought the upgrades for the overhead lights without knowing about my substandard existing fixtures. They were very gracious and genuine. I think the definition of a professional is one who can look at a deal that has gone south and, without a customer complaint, initiate a response to make it right. I would definitely do business with them again.

After having another Angie's List electrician come out and I was bait and switch their pricing, I wasn't sure about trying someone else from Angie's List. I was surprised by Point Loma Electric's straight forward pricing and their professionalism. They were confident in their pricing and capabilities. I asked for pricing for various scenarios and they were able to respond to all of them with confidence. When they got started they were able to complete everything quickly and efficiently. They did it without losing power to anything inside the house. They were done within 90 minutes. I will use them again if I need any electrical work done again.

Very punctual, very professional but with a price that was way outside reality. I had two other electrical firms (one of them an award winner in Angie's) quote on the same job and they both came in pretty close at less than half the $13,000 quotation from Point Loma Electric. Everything looked good except the price. I definitely would not contact them again.

Came back the next day to complete the job. They were very professional and knowledgable.

After having to deal with several other electricians who decided to show up only to leave with my parking pass, Point Loma Electric completed the job quickly at an inexpensive price. My apartment is very old and I needed all of my outlets to be updated. All the work was completed quickly and properly, and they even went out of their way to vacuum my carpets to make sure all the debris was picked up. I would recommend Point Loma Electric to anyone who needs electrician work done. From my experience I believe they can handle any size job, from a full remodel to installing a ceiling fan. I have seen many other electricians screw over their customers, Mario was extremely trustworthy and even called me several times after the job to check and see if everything was going smoothly. These guys are great! If you want your job done right, the first time, call Point Loma Electric.

The issue here isn't workmanship but a lack of clear communication from the start about fees and practices which comes from management, not the employees. When I made the appointment no pricing information was given, save a potential $69 trip fee. I told her I had found them on Angie's list. When the electrician got here he said he would charge a flat "diagnositic & repair" fee of $363, if I remember correctly. I understand things can get complex, but from past experiences with my house, I had a sense this wasn't a problematic repair and declined. He then offered to track three points, the fuse box, another outlet close by and the problem outlet for $171. If the diagnostic /repair got more involved, I would pay the difference. That seemed more reasonable and I went along with that. Why not start from there? At the end, I mentioned I had found them through Angies's list and was told in a rather stern manner I wasn't going to receive an Angie's list discount with "that"price. He could have just said that was the price of one of their Angie's list coupons, which I noticed today. I would have understood and been very happy. I just felt uneasy and in an awkward, uncomfortable position because I didn't know what to expect as the customer.

Hunter was on time, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and discussed alternatives before we decided what needed to be done. My 38 year old house was in much need of updating and I feel much safer now that Pt. Loma Electric worked on the very old wiring.

I have a wired smoke detector that was going off repeatedly. They helped me correct the issue right over the phone. It saved me the cost of a service call. I really appreciated their help.

Mario was the electrician that gave us the estimate and did the initial walk through. He was the lead worker and came every day until the job was completed. He arrived on time and called each day to make sure we were ready to receive him. He took his time explaining the rewiring and made sure we understood each step or phase. Mario was very careful when doing inside work. He covered his shoes with booties to not soil the carpets and was careful of walls and doorways to not bang them up. It was necessary to cut holes in the walls to find wires but Mario made those holes small and neat and tried to make as few holes as possible. My mother was ill during this rewiring process and Mario and his crew were very considerate of her. They were accommodating to her needs and worked as quietly as possible. They also put up with our barking dog and by the end of the project had made friends with him. I highly recommend Point Loma Electric. I would not use anyone else since having the pleasure of doing business with them.

Point Loma is very responsive, great office staff. Their prices are pretty high for my budget, so we selected another electrician for the electrical updates. I would recommend their company to others.

Job went very well. The installer was clean and well mannered and worked quickly. He installed the boxes and cleaned up the area afterwards. We were very satisfied with the job.

Contacted this company because it had a high rating. I had a list of small, uncomplicated electrical work and I asked for a ballpark figure. I was told that they couldn't do that over the phone. I find this very unprofessional. I will not pay for a service call after finding out that the quote is not in my budget. As mentioned, these were routine, no-surprise undertakings. However, the person answering the phone promised to have someone knowledgeable call me back. I never received a call so I moved on. The company I ended up using did provide me with a ballpark figure (both fixed for complete job (not to exceed) or hourly. I was pleased with the quote, the work, and the final price.

Mario is a hard worker, sticks to the task at hand and cleans up when he's done. He completed everything in a timely manner. He is truly a professional.

Pt. Loma Electric gave me the convenient appointment I requested and, despite telling me of a 3 hour window, arrived right at the beginning of the window. Pt. Loma Electric called me 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know that they were on their way. I did feel that the repair cost was a bit pricey but it was worth it for the service and the repair. Afterwards, Mario looked around the house and made useful suggestions for reducing my electricity cost and he took the time to answer questions I had about electricity.

I wish I could do two reviews for this one experience. I gave the high ratings based on the final outcome of the experience. I had a wall light in the hall that I wanted to move a few inches down and to the side. The old light was operated with a string pull and I also wanted to have a light switch installed to operate the new light. In the end, I was very happy with the work that was done. I was very impressed by the level of customer service and attention I received from the owner of the company when the job did not go well initially. I appreciate a company that stands behind its work and Point Loma Electric did that. They truly wanted to make sure I was happy with the final results, and I am pleased with how everything looks and works now. Here?s what happened. I purchased a Big Deal on Angie?s List with this company. There were two people who came as scheduled. I showed them the mark on the wall where I wanted the new light to go. The installer started working on that project while the other one started doing the home electrical inspection that was part of the Angie?s List Deal. I was paying more attention to the person doing the inspection than the installer. When I looked at where the installer had cut the hole for the new fixture, I saw he had cut it in the wrong place and I showed him again where the mark was. I returned to the person doing the inspection (Hunter). I then noticed the second hole the installer had cut was also not in the right place. Hunter then got the installer to cut the hole in the correct place and he offered me a discount on future services as a compensation for the mistakes. He was really trying to make it right, but I was not happy with that outcome, so I called the company with my complaint. One of the owners called me back, offering to have their sheetrock person come out and fix the holes at no charge- including the hole where the original fixture was removed. In the meantime, Hunter had also left me a voice mail with an offer to have the holes fixed at no charge. The sheetrock person called me right away. He patched the holes, and textured the wall to match the existing texture. He did a very good job and the wall looks great. In addition, the owner said she would give me a bit of a refund on the money I had paid, and I have already received that check. There were obviously some problems along the way, but people do sometimes make mistakes. What I liked about this company was that they said they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and they fixed the mistakes, and were very generous with offering more than would have been required in a situation like this. That?s why I gave them the high ratings.

Everything was A+. Jim the owner actually came out to do the job because the electrician that was supposed to arrive was running late. Jim was everything you want in a trades person... courteous, knowledgable, and professional. He took the time to explain options and was also very personable. I definitely would use Point Loma Electric again for a small or large repair/installation. You can tell when a company takes their work seriously and takes pride in what they do and it is obvious that this company does.

The initial guys that came out were just absolutely wonderful and the did the initial work. Then I asked him to come back and do an overall kind of safety issues in the house. And the owner came back with the guy, and the guy seemed a little embarrassed because I was looking for safety not redoing my entire electrical. The service was excellent.
