Hunter listened to our explanation of what was wrong, found the problem right away, and fixed it. He was very professional, knew what he was doing, and we were very pleased with his work. Everything works now like it should. We're so glad we had Pt. Loma Electric come out. Will definitely use them again.

After changing out our electrical outlets, we could no longer get the switch that controlled the ceiling fan to work. Since we do not have air conditioning, the fan is pretty important for us. I used other electricians in the past, but Point Loma Electric was able to send someone out the same day. Due to my hectic work schedule, this was also very important. The office called ahead of time so I was certain I would not miss the technician. Mario came out to our home and he was absolutely wonderful. He listened to the events that happened prior to the switch malfunctioning and took a look at the problem. There was a jumble of wires behind the switch and he was quickly able to sort out which wires went where. He attached new wires to make everything a little longer, installed the switch, and had the fan working in no time! I really enjoy DIY projects, but as some point I reach the limits of my knowledge. Now I know that I can always call Point Loma Electric, and specifically Mario, when I need help with the electrical aspects of my projects. Based on the service, knowledge, and availability I am happy to recommend Point Loma Electric and will definitely use them in the future. Thank you so much.

Very professional and thorough. The estimate was for over $4000 which was much higher than other bids we got. I would trust them to do the work but I think they are a bit on the pricey side.

Excellent. The service provider was very efficient and spent the time to make sure the job was done perfect. He was polite and cleaned up the area afterwards. I was very happy. Equally important was my interaction with Jamie, the owner, when I called to make the appointment. She went out of her way to accommodate my schedule as I needed an appointment later in the day. It went very well everything has been working well every since, and he fixed a couple of extra things around my home as well.

They contacted me after the Big Deal was purchased. We found a mutually agreeable time; he was on-time and very pleasant. No additional money was needed.

The over all experience was good. The technician was out the prior week to give me an estimate on installing the 8 ft grounding rod and schedule the appointment for the next week to have the work done. The written estimate was for 8 hours. On the day of the appointment I received a call from Point Loma Electric telling me the technician was sick and we needed to reschedule. I could not reschedule because I went through a lot of effort to rearrange my work schedule so I could be home for the appointment. I was told someone would be out to perform the work. When Point Loma Electric arrived it was the technician that was supposed to be sick, he said he was feeling better now, he brought a second person to help him. The technicians were professional and friendly, the work was done ahead of schedule. The only issue I have is that the estimate I received was for 8 hours of work, the technicians finished in a little over three hours, but I still had to pay for the entire 8 hours. I would suggest to anyone, make sure you know the billing process before the work gets done.

Point Loma Electric experiences Our cooktop was not working, nor the adjacent outlets on our kitchen islands, on the advice of Angie?s list, we called Point Loma Electric though we thought their price to come out was a bit steep. My husband, an 80 year old disabled veteran, was recently discharged from the hospital. To meet his dietary requirements, I had to have access to a functioning cooktop. Two young men promptly arrived from Point Loma Electric. They took care to put on red protective ?socks? so that their boots might not stain. They were respectful. One did the work and the other fetched the tools. To access the electrical inputs to our cooktop, they removed the drawers beneath. The ?senior said that the wiring was put in totally wrong/ not to code. He then proceeded to install two junction boxes. (That was unlikely to be the cause of non functioning cooktop because they had been that way since we bought the house 15 years ago). He ?diagnosed? that the cooktop was defective and had to be replaced. They left with $154.00, their fee (reduced by 10% because we were Angie?s list customers. We called an appliance outfit (another $70.00) we had heard about. The technician said, ?No. It is not your cooktop which is defective...it is some electrical malfunction.? Back to Point Loma Electric we went. The man came out and said that probably the whole house had to be rewired...cost $500-$1000. And since we are on a slab foundation, he didn?t know if it could be done. He went into the utility closet where the breakers are and pronounced that the four element breaker 20/40/40/20 was at fault. He would see if he had one in his truck...the price $250.00. My husband, in the interim, from the phone book called two breaker companies and they said their price was more like $21.00. We dismissed this Point Loma Electric but first, he demanded a revisit fee of $59.00. Actually, the first twosome of Point Loma Electric gave us a $50.00 gift card for future visits. My heat was up and he left without demanding any monies. Lo and behold, the cooktop is now functioning. We think he just reset the breaker in the utility closet. That was the only ?charge? we got from Point Loma Electric.

I think it went very well. My only complaint was that they did not have the proper wiring. They were neat, courteous, and knowledgable.

I was blowing the circuit breaker for my spa every time the air conditioner was on. I saw the $99 inspection and purchased it hoping to get this issue resolved. Point Loma Electric came out on Friday, Sept 7th and inspected my panel. They found several circuit breakers with burn marks and more amperage than my panel was rated for. They quoted me for an upgraded panel which I immediately scheduled. They were able to come out on that following Tuesday to do the work. I was expecting to get a bigger panel and new circuit breakers. Not only did I get that, they also installed a surge protector for the panel as well as an outdoor plug which I really needed on that side of the house. They were not only professional but also very patient with me as I like to ask a lot of questions so I can learn/know exactly what they are doing.

Purchased a special on Angie list for $49 for Point Loma Electric back in September 2012, which included a service call and $50 towards service. In December, I purchased 3 kitchen appliances from a local home improvement store, and when they were delivered and installed, the dishwasher did not work. I panicked because family was coming for the holidays, and I really needed to be able to use the dishwasher. Called Point Loma Electric, hoping to utilize the special, and they would have come out the same day, however, because of deadlines at work, made an appointment for the morning of December 19th. Don and another gentleman showed up on time, and got right to work.The first thing they noticed was that the person who installed the dishwasher had failed to put a locknut on connection. Don said if the dishwasher had worked, it could have caused a fire. The dishwasher was on same circuit as defective GFI. The GFI was replaced, and both the dishwasher and GFI have worked perfectly ever since. I would recommend Point Loma Electric, and plan eventually to have them redo my circuit board.

Was just called to verify an appointment. I wanted an estimate of how much it would cost to change out an outside wall mount electrical panel.. After all details were discused with someone who;'s english wasn't that great, I was informed there would be travel fees. They just lost a posible customer..

He told me my electrical box needed to be replaced. He explained everything. He gave me an estimate. He was very confident. I am still getting more estimates to make my final decisions. He was friendly and knowledgable.

They addressed the issue of concern and took care of other electrical issues while they were there.

Great for what they did. But they missed a major and serious problem that they should have caught.

Kevin from Point Loma Electric was extremely nice and very professional. He caught a problem with our electric panel which could have been very dangerous in the future, if it went unnoticed. Will definitely be having them back for future work at my house!

I had them come out for an inspection as I have had several electricians come out over the years and I noticed some things didn't look right. When they came out they performed a very thorough inspection and found several problems with the previous work - some of which were very dangerous. I was extremely impessed with the level of knowledge and expertise in electrical work. They were able to explain in great detail, without hesitation what exactly needed to be done. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing electrical work.

Kevin, the electrician that performed the work was very nice, professional, & obviously committed to getting everything right, as well as obviously experienced & capable. No problems with reaching Point Loma by phone, prompt return of messages. They just do it right, as opposed to the many hacks that are out there.
