All of the staff at Parker Concrete provides Professional service, Integrity and Honesty it is the heart of our business. Let Parker Concrete help you plan a beautiful space for your family to enjoy. Whether it’s your driveway, your patio or your new entryway even closed in private courtyard, we will do the job right. We love what we do as if it where our own.
He was very informative and a very knowledgeable guy. He had a plan in place immediately of what he thought needed to be done correctly to replace my current concrete. We haven’t made a decision yet because we’re still up in the air about how we want to tackle the job; the ball is in our court. He had a fair price. If we go with stamped concrete on our patio, he’ll be one of the leading candidates. He wasn’t pushy and he didn’t seem like he was going overboard for what he was going to do. He met me very early in the morning to accommodate both of our schedules.
Description of Work: I had a meeting with Parker Concrete and Masonry. About a month ago we met on site and walked around the property and he gave me a quote.

Called for quote. He was able to come by within a couple of days but quote took a few more days to send to me by email. Price was quite a bit higher than two other alternatives so we did not use them.
Description of Work: I received a quote for concrete removal and replace. The quote was not received as quickly as I expected and the price was significantly higher than others.

It could not have gone better. They started on time completed the work with a minimum of problem for the homeowners and made sure all was well before opening up the driveways to traffic. The work was done on three different streets in the Association.
Description of Work: We are a Homeowners Association in Tierrasanta and got bids on redoing 5 driveways. Mr Parker was prompt with his bid and follow up. We made a number of changes in the number and the extent of repair of drives to be done. He was always very professional, even though we kept changing. Once we were set and everything signed- they started on time and were conscientious to be sure the drives were cured before opening them to traffic.

This client was a wonderful client to work for. Parker Concrete is very excited to return and complete more driveway repairs A + client
Dave Parker and his team were thorough and professional from start to finish. They went above and beyond repairing our sprinklers and drainage which were a complete mess, in part from other contractors. They were punctual, worked very quickly, and best of all they did a nice job cleaning up when they were finished!

Working with Dave Parker from the very first call for an estimate to the final payment for services rendered was professional and a true pleasure. Dave was very thorough in his explanation of what, when and how work was going to be performed. Dave visited the job site everyday to confer with his onsite project manager Leo and his work crew. I must say I have never worked with a more professional, respectful, and competent contractor as Dave Parker and his work crew. Dave Parker was on-time or early for every appointment and his work crew was on-time or early for everyday they were on the job. the work product provided by Dave Parker was excellent and I am a very satisfied customer. My wife and I would not hesitate to utilize Dave Parker for any future concrete work we might need.
Description of Work: The service that was provided included: - Complete demolition of a concrete entry walkway (approx. 80ft - Replaced walkway with a upgraded stamped concrete with French drains - Additionally, I had the width of my driveway increased, and - A major section of my concrete driveway demolished and replaced.

Dave and his team were very professional ? arriving on time, completing the work they were contracted for and for the price we agreed to. As with all projects unforeseen things arose and plans changed. Dave was very accommodating and open about the change impacts, provided thoughtful suggestions and solutions. I was extremely happy with the end product. I started with a backyard full of dirt and ended up with a backyard I am proud of.

Description of Work: Parker Concrete removed the top half of my driveway. Tree roots had raised it to where it was becoming a safety hazard. They removed the old re-bar and tree roots. They formed it in and the poured the new section in a total of 6 hours.....I thought this was amazingly fast. They hauled all the debris off and totally cleaned the area.

Dave Parker came to the house, discussed the project, made a number of suggestions and provided a quote the following day. Since he was working another project at the time, he indicated it would be approximately 2 weeks before he could start. Since I was in no particular rush, I agreed and awaited his call. Dave sent an e-mail to me early Wednesday and, since I had not logged into my e-mail and seen he was trying to contact me, followed up with a call that evening. He indicated, if acceptable, he would start the work Friday morning and complete the work on Saturday - a schedule to which I agreed. I was not present when his crew arrived, but when I returned home that afternoon they were still working. A minor problem had arisen and they needed authorization to modify the original agreement. Leo, the foreman, was detailed and very specific on what options existed and how those options would affect the overall installation. After discussing these options, I agreed to one of the suggested modifications. Leo and his crew made the appropriate adjustment, but were unable to complete in time to meet their projected schedule, so Leo requested to begin at 0645 the following morning so the pour could progress on schedule. The following morning, Leo and crew showed up as requested and everything went according to plan. By 3 PM Saturday afternoon I had a completed porch and patio installation, the work site was clean, and Leo walked me through the entire work package to ensure I was satisfied with the work quality. One area remaining is lowering of the air conditioning compressor into place - an effort I am certain will be done to the continuing high standards established by Leo and his crew. I would not hesitate to recommend Parker Concrete, Dave Parker, Leo, his crew, or subcontractors employed by Dave. The areas that make working with them so pleasurable are not only the excellent work quality and exceptional work ethic, but the "one stop shop" attitude of Dave Parker. At no time did he indicate they couldn't do something, and when there was an area outside of their expertise Dave acknowledged the fact, suggested alternatives, and provided the necessary quote. This was important to me since I have a busy schedule and do not have the time to contact and meet with multiple contractors for each phase of the task. In addition, during the entire process I questioned Dave incessantly on the why's and wherefore's of not only what they were doing, but how to do other work that I was going to accomplish myself. Dave's professionalism and willingness to share information was truly refreshing. I have only one final comment: Hire Parker Concrete - you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Lay a concrete porch, which consisted of cutting down and jack-hammering out portions of an existing slab, filling in partial porch areas, and tamping all areas prior to laying concrete. Once this was accomplished, concrete was laid and finished for the porch and a smaller area. In addition, a second area required removal of tile from a slab, lifting an air conditioning compressor, laying forms in an adjacent area, and laying / finishing concrete in those areas.

Dave Parker and his team did a great job on our concrete work, utilizing our design with some excellent suggestions. During our conversations with Dave, he was friendly, professional, and (very importantly) a good listener. He kept us informed of his schedule every step of the way, which was tricky due to some rainy weather. His crews were always on time. During the pouring process, he and his foreman made alterations to our design "on the fly" (with our permission) to ensure the best possible outcome in appearance. After completion, we had a minor issue with the sealant which was quickly resolved. Dave is a very busy guy, but generally responded by cell phone or email within 24 hours. I would definitely recommend Dave Parker as a contractor specializing in concrete.
Description of Work: Stamped concrete patios and walkways were poured in our front yard, side yard, and back yard.
Parker concrete did a great job. Pros: -- Very knowledgeable contractor. Provided several suggestions and ideas for how to complete the job. With other contractors (even ones we got from Angie's list) I sometimes felt like I knew more about the correct way of doing the job than the contractor. Not so with Parker concrete -- Provided a detailed contract that spelled out the work that was being done so there was no room for "miscommunication". Dave Parker showed up each day at the job site to discuss progress and issues encountered. -- Crew was punctual, neat, and clean -- Did not nickel and dime you-- for example instead of hauling the dirt away when they excavated the patio, Parker offered to spread the dirt around my orange grove, about 40 wheel barrows worth. They also offered to enlarge the opening for a light switch that was set in a brick wall so that the cover plate could fit proper. -- Very meticulous job. We are pretty anal when it comes to quality and there was not much for us to nit pick. Very minor issues we pointed out were quickly corrected. -- Leo was a very good crew chief who answered any questions we had and addressed any concerns that we had. Cons: -- Parker concrete definitely seems to favor stamped concrete over pavers. We decided to go with pavers for various reasons but just be aware that they will probably try and steer you toward concrete (even thought they did an excellent job with the pavers) -- Middle of the road in price. You can probably find someone cheaper, but would be hard pressed to find someone both cheaper and better quality. All said, you will have a good experience with Parker Concrete. They are probably the first contractor we have gotten off Angie's list who fully met our expectations and we have had to have quite a few contractors recently (unfortunately).
Description of Work: Parker concrete removed and replaced unsuitable concrete in entry hallway and replaced with concrete, ensuring elevations were as flat as possible to match adjoining rooms for hardwood installation. Demoed and disposed 550 square feet of concrete patio. Replaced with antique cobble interlocking pavers set in herringbone pattern. Applied compact 2 base with perimeter border set in mortar with weed control barrier and polymeric sand and sealed final installation. Moved iron fence to different part of patio.

Dave responded immediately to my phone call. He came over the next day and looked over the problem area which was a loosely put together stone wall up against and elevated brick patio that was in need of desperate repair. He gave me his ideas on what was needed to be done, showed me a great portfolio of his work and followed up with a written estimate. Unfortunately his estimate was outside the budget, so he wasn't hired to do the work. He was extremely professional and I am certain he would have done exceptional work had he been given the job..

Parker Concrete submitted a very competitive bid for a seventy foot retaining wall, cost $35,000. Dave laid out a detailed plan and performed at a high level of professional competency including working with the City Building permit people, residents and neighbors. There were several unforeseen problems that occurred that Dave took care of with no additional charges. Dave assumed total project control and because of his competence, I was relieved of having to become deeply involved in the project. It was a job extremely well done.

Awesome! I had 4 or 5 bids for my retaining wall and Parker Concrete was one of the few that was licensed, bonded, insured, and had worker's compensation. Dave, the owner, quoted a very fair and competitive price. He came out a few times because we had lots of questions; he was very punctual and answered all of our questions very thoroughly. We changed our minds on a lot of things and Dave was very accommodating. We were also on a very tight budget and he was very flexible and helpful in getting us a really good price. He always provided options. Dave was here everyday supervising and checking the progress. He has a great crew of workers who were all very nice and hard working. The amount of dirt that they hand shoveled to prepare the footing for the wall was amazing. They didn't take any shortcuts and did just an awesome job. I really couldn't believe the amount of work and effort they put into this project. There were huge rocks and big tree roots they had to dig through. He came by the day after completion to do a final walk through to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction which was great. The wall looks incredible. I can finally enjoy looking out into the backyard from our living room. We would absolutely use them again for other household projects. I can't give a higher recommendation. Thanks Dave!

Dave was very punctual and provided a competitive estimate that was not the cheapest but on the more affordable side of the bids we got. He was responsive to phone calls and emails. They came on the scheduled day right on time. They were very professional. The existing concrete slab ended up being 2-4 inches thicker in spots, so they did not have the strongest jackhammer to demo the 1st day. They brought a jackhammer with compressor the next day, so the demo took about 1/2 day longer than projected. He did ask for an additional $200 to cover the unexpected extra labor for the demo. They also chipped 2 tiles on the BBQ island which they repaired a couple days after the rest of the work was done. Other than that, the job was completed without a hitch. I was very pleased by his crew's attention to detail and punctuality. They finished in the time they said they would.
Description of Work: Our existing concrete patio did not have a drain and would push rain water against the house. Parker Concrete demo'd existing concrete in back patio and around BBQ island. Re-poured concrete with color and properly leveled it and inserted with a new drain.

It went very well. We are very happy with the results.
Description of Work: We needed a tricky driveway extension to accommodate a larger turning radius on a sloped bank. When setting it up, we were not called back promptly, and some of the forms were initially not as discussed. Even so, all concerns were addressed and the changes were made to meet our goals. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
WONDERFUL. After a horrible contractor abandonment for a $300k remodel, I have little trust for contractors. Dave gave a fair price, showed up when he said he would, did as he promised and helped with the design of the project. He could have allowed me to make expensive mistakes that I would regret long after he was gone but he explained the options in a professional manner. His workers were all very neat and careful to pick up their garbage and left the work site tidy at the end of each day (wish I could say that about most workers - they are pigs). I will be hiring him again for additional work in the front, and rear of my home. Contractors who care to do the right thing and not take advantage of homeowners are hard to find. He's one of the few.
Description of Work: Break out drive way border bricks and pour additional to widen drive way. Also poured curved stairs for front walk way and porch, added deco stone to front of house and extended suppport pillar. Acid wash portions of stone for deco appearance.

Contacted Parker Concrete based on reviews at Angieslist. Estimate was provided and date was set for work. Parker Concrete did not show up on the date agreed upon. I called to find out what happened, and I was told that due to the rain earlier in the week, a lot of work was pushed back. I did not receive a call prior to the date of installation that my appointment was to be moved. I took time off from work to be there in the morning. The work date was moved to the following week. The work was performed as described, and Parker Concrete was paid in full. About a month later, I received a notice of a Mechanic's Lien from the concrete supplier. I was not notified by Parker Concrete that I should expect anything like this. I was informed that this was normal and that I should get a full release shortly. I contacted the concrete supplier that the account hadn't been paid yet and that I would get a release when the account was paid. It took two weeks after this to get the full release, during which time I was worrying whether or not the account would be paid. I set aside extra money and delayed a vacation in case I'd have to deal with a non-paying prime contractor. The biggest problem with this contractor has been communication. I had to miss hours at work because he didn't inform me that he wouldn't be coming on the date we agreed to. He didn't inform me that I should expect a notice of a mechanic's lien. I thought everything was paid in full. Better communication would have made things go much more smoothly.

This is an excellent small Company where all the work is supervised by the owner, Dave Parker. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was substantially below that quoted by his competitors. Most impressive however, was Dave's ability to come up with restoration solutions which did not require us to have the old concrete taken out and completely replaced. I have since recommended Parker Concrete to several neighbors who live in our gated community and to other people in San Diego. My wife and I were so pleased with the results and the cost that we have offered to be references for Dave.
Description of Work: We had extensive work done to repair and then resurface concrete areas around our pool and in the parking area in front of our garages (these were 30 years old and very damaged). We also had the expansion joints and some cracked areas in the driveway repaired and refilled. Finally, Dave and his crew sealed the concrete areas in our front entry way and on our back patio.

Dave and Parker Concrete were awesome. Dave was probably one of the most personable contractors I've worked with. His workers worked hard and the job turned out awesome. Dave's price was a little higher than the competition but still competitive and easily paid for itself in quality. Dave is an honest guy and even pointed out an unnoticeable flaw because he didn't want to hide anything from the customer.

Dave was prompt for the bid. His bid was almost 50% lower than other 2 other bids obtained from local companies on Angies list. He brought his team out for grading and forming for a few hours, and then the team came again a few days later for the pour and surfacing. Everyone spoke english so it was easy to work with them. This was only 1/2 of the job. I have some more prep work before I call them back for the back-yard patio pour. I liked them and plan to hire them back again.
Description of Work: Dave and two very professional assistants poured a side walkway of about 275 sq feet. They graded this away from my house, put down rebar on 18" spacing, and installed a decco-drain along the entire length of the walkway. They did an awesome job.

Dave came out and met with me and was very thorough in explaining the correct way to install the walkway to allow for proper house ventilation and yard drainage. He offered me several options in addition to the basic walk and was so honest that he even discouraged me from using a more expensive surface finish that would have been slick and unsafe for our kids. He provided a thorough written estimate by that afternoon. I was shocked at how reasonable he was-we were initially going to use an unlicensed "friend of a friend" that my Mom had used for some work but Dave actually gave us the same price with the piece of mind of using a licensed BBB-member, with great recommendations from Angie's List. The only minor glitch was a minor delay in starting the work due to another job that ran over. But, it was just a couple days and the work was finished in the time frame I needed- before a weekend party. The work was great- they demo'd n one day, poured the next and just came back for about 30 minutes the next day to finish clean up. The walk looks great and we don't have to trip over the warped wood planks anymore. We were so impressed that my mother is calling him to do some work for her. Dave is really a local guy who has been doing this for a long time and is making an honest living supporting his family by doing reasonably-priced, quality work.
Description of Work: Demolished existing wood walkway behind house (approx 18-20 ft long, 48" wide), leveled surface and poured concrete walkway with drainage.
