This was the most disappointing experience of the four plumbers who bid on my tankless water heater. In spite of the company name, AJ appeared to be the least knowledgeable about tankless water heaters. He made totally unwarranted (and as it turns out incorrect) assertions about both the gas supply line and exhaust vent without bothering to actually inspect them. I suspect that he probably was uncomfortable with the conversion from a storage water heater in a condo and that he might be fine with installing one in a newer home. His quote for a storage water heater replacement was fair, but the other vendors were simply more knowledgeable and professional.

Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], as I responded before, still puzzled about your reaction one year after we met for 5 min at your townhouse for a quick not binding assessment. I was late 10 min, not early, dont recall meeting any other contractors but even if I had that wouldn't upset me. It is a common practice of all public work bids all interested contractors to be called at the site at the same time. As I remember you were to get the things straight with your HOA before we continued. Your statements about my knowledge and professional expertise are not true neither based on any work done for your project. I subcontract with companies for which I install tankless and conventional water heaters in salons, hospitals, schools and office buildings. I am preferred specialized contractor for gas lines, tankless water heaters and tank water heaters repairs and replacement for most of the major home warranty companies in US. I installed tankless systems and water heaters for Home Depot and Costco for several years, for two years I was the only Navien certified Costco specialist for San Diego county. 4 year BS in Mechanical Engineering. Homeflex and PE gas lines certified. Tankless water heaters- factory trained Navien specialist, factory trained Noritz level 2 specialist, Rinnai certified installer, Takagi trained installer. Conventional water heaters- company trained installation and service technician for A.O. Smith, Bradford White, Rheem/Ruud. Solar water heaters- SolPal trained installer.
