All personnel at Pacific Kitchen were fabulous! They were professional, helpful, courteous, and considerate. From date of signing contract to start of work took a couple of months, but I was warned about this ahead of time and so was no problem for me. And the delay gave me time to fine-tune my selections. Their show-room is very close to me, so I dropped by a couple of times to look at options, and the personnel there took time with me to help me make my choices. I am very happy with the results -- I love my new kitchen! Even when there was a slight glitch when my oven needed extra height to fit over the new countertop, and the countertop installers placed plywood underneath the feet, Pacific Kitchen made risers for the oven feet which look much nicer than the plywood. Overall, great service and high quality work.

Overall the process and outcome were pretty good with Pacific Kitchens. Mary Lou was super friendly and helpful, as was Tom and Bob the installer did a fantastic job and was informative and helpful along the way. Before I get into the details on the work, I do have a couple of gripes. Not really complaints, because I knew going in there would be unforeseen circumstances since my house was built in 1949. However, when Tom came to measure our cabinets I specifically asked him if there was anything I should watch out for with an old house like this. I also asked this of Denise the Sales person. They looked at the cabinets and saw the same things I did but there didn't seem to be any concern. However once I started doing some demo work I quickly realized there was some severe water damage to the cabinets and subfloor. The subfloor was almost entirely rotted away under the old sink and needed a repair before we got started on the cabinets. My view of Pacific Kitchens overall is positive, but be advised that Pacific Kitchens does not do subfloor repair work so you're on your own if the same thing happens to you. That said, my gripes are this: If you are a company that does cabinetry like this exclusively, I would think that you would A) be able to tell (or at least advise that it's possible) that there might be some water damage to the subfloor and/or B) have someone to recommend for the repair. Once I found that there was some water damage we had to delay the install about two weeks while I found someone to do the fix to the subfloor. As I said, I know these things happen, but you have to think Pacific Kitchens would have seen this sort of thing before. As a rookie homeowner/remodeler I didn't know what to expect, but looking back there was some obvious water damage to the old cabinets that should have sent up a red flag to people that do this for a living. I now know that water damage around a sink will very likely mean rotten subfloor, so for the rest of you out there be sure to look into this before you get started with any kind of remodel. PK was fairly accommodating with the scheduling and got to me as fast as they could, but I think we should have been able to avoid this surprise to begin with. So that said, the cabinets look fantastic now. Bob looked at our old bottom cabinets, and while they were somewhat salvageable, found a way to get me a great deal for just rebuilding the entire thing. It raised the overall cost minimally and it was money well spent. Our kitchen was original from 1949, had several coats of very ugly paint from every decade back to the 50's and now it's modernized and looking great. The doors look and feel great, the drawers are fantastic and the veneer doesn't look cheap at all. I honestly expected it to look fake, but to the untrained eye you wouldn't even realize that its a veneer. I would hire PK again, but they are a bit on the expensive side. You could probably hire some handyman or someone that "knows a guy" to do the work for less money, however, the old saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies. I think the quality of the work looks great, will last for a very long time and PK stands behind the work with a 10 year guarantee. Your average handyman isn't going to be able to do that for you. If you have decent bones on your old cabinets definitely look into PK as we are very impressed with the overall result. They're very professional, courteous and they did a great job explaining the process and exceeded expectations on their timeline for completion. It was money well spent because it looks great and because the cabinets are probably the most important part of your kitchen. Our kitchen is still unfinished but having nice new cabinets is already making a huge difference.
Description of Work: Refinished existing cabinets, replaced all drawers and doors. Completely rebuilt damaged lower cabinets.

From the first visit to their showroom through all the other steps to final install the folks at Pacific Kitchens were very friendly and professional. They lived up to all their commitments and were prompt and on time. Shane did a great job installing our beautiful cabinets and the countertop guys completed our quartz counter install expertly. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional job meeting all their needs in a friendly manner.

We had older 1995 oak style kitchen cabinets which were worn and shabby. We had granite countertops, new tile, and had just replaced all of the appliances with stainless steel - which made the old cabinets look even more horrible. We decided to reface as we did not like the oak look for refinishing and many of the cupboard doors were hanging crooked and we wanted a fresh look. We spent a lot of time figuring out what we wanted. There are so many nice choices : different woods, colors, really nice laminates, etc. We decided on maple wood. We finally found the shade of wood we wanted , which was a sample that someone else had created for their kitchen. So it was a pretty custom color. Everyone was helpful and patient with our decision making process. Work was scheduled for a few weeks out, and they told us it would take 5-7 work days. Everything had to be moved out of the kitchen and cabinets, so that takes a bit of planning if you still want to have access to any appliances or food. We set everything up in the dining room. The job was completed for the most part in about 4 1/2 days. They had to come back the next week to install last few doors, but i was still ale to have the kitchen back after 5 days. Job was beautifully done, and materials used are very high quality. Only complaint I have is that when all the sanding was done, dust got everywhere in the house - all over the furniture, etc. I understand that some of this is inevitable, but I did not feel the room was 'sealed' as well as it could be during the process. Plastic was put up, but was not secured to walls or floor, so the plastic still flew around whenever doors were opened or people walked by -which allowed the dust to fly more. Also, stainless steel appliances were not covered securely, and I had to clean them every night - which is a bit worrisome as stainless steel scratches so easily. Everyone was polite and helpful and professional.
Description of Work: Cabinets were refaced. Old outdated worn cabinets were replaced with maple wood veneer and wood doors.

Pacific Kitchens transformed our kitchen into the nicest area in our house. We had older wood cabinets that were showing some wear and casting a rather solemn and drab mood over our kitchen/dining room area. We chose an easy maintenance, and cheerful, Antique White refacing material and new quartz countertop and matching high end sink and faucet. The refacing job was done within one week and we were thrilled with the results. (Countertop, sink and faucet installation afterward was a two-step process which extended into the second week.) The contractor helped in other ways, installed new feet for our oven, leveled our oven with the new countertop, installed white plastic strips over the visible outer wood surfaces of the inside cabinets, and installed an over the range microwave (we paid the installer separately for the extra help). Pacific Kitchens staff put us in touch with a painter. The painters did a thorough job painting the inside of the cabinets the same antique white color as the material on the outside of the cabinets. We now have an "easy maintenance" kitchen. All stains and splatter are easily wiped away. The countertop and faucet are stunning, massively durable, don't show stains, and are equally easy to maintain. Now our kitchen/dining room is the most cheerful room in the house and we spend so much time in it, I even arranged for a TV and sound system to enhance the already happy mood emanating from the bright colors of the room. I strongly recommend you consider Pacific Kitchens for your kitchen remodel. You can achieve a stunning result for less money than a complete cabinet replacement would cost. If you go to their showroom you can get a sense of what might be possible. You have to see it to believe it. My wife was skeptical in the beginning, but she is a believer now, you just need a little imagination and the willingness to try a reface ... if your cabinets have some mileage left in them you won't regret it.

Amazing work on stain and door design we requested. Carpenter who installed all was a perfectionist; made excellent suggestions when various unanticipated issues came up----and they will come up regardless of how detailed you might be. When these unanticipated issues did arise that needed PK's approval, PK worked with us to resolve to mutual satisfaction. There will be a great deal of dust that occurs during the renovation. The carpenter placed plastic coverings over doorways to limit interference throughout the house and each day ensured that all was vacuumed and ready for the next days work. Basic PK philosophy was "how can we help?" Although the actual work took a full two weeks, there were a number of weeks consulting with the design rep, the estimator and the front desk. We were grateful that as questions or concerns arose, that the company met us more than half way. Given our very good experience with Pacific Kitchens, we would like to suggest the following for an even smoother adventure in preparing for kitchen cabinet remodeling: 1. If you want any special cabinet feature, e.g., lazy susan, trash bin, etc. , ensure that when measurements are taken for these items to ensure that they will fit within your space. 2. Regarding hinges: Many people are asking for soft close doors and/or drawers; we did too. Make sure this item is especially noted along with whether you want hinges that will open 90 degrees, 120 degrees, etc. 3. Be sure to ask detailed questions; the industry uses terms that may not be clear like "box" (meaning the cabinet that will receive the new door or drawer front). If new drawers are to put in, how will they be finished along the insides, face? Some kind of laminate, painted, unfinished wood? 4. When it comes time to sign the sales agreement, have your own itemized list of what might be "notes to the production department." These are items that are more specific that you may have discussed earlier when you were weighing cost vs. need or want; you don't want to miss them at the final signing. Match these notes against this earlier list that you may (should) have developed of what you want to see in the finished product. Whoever measures your kitchen is making a very detailed work plan; take your time; make sure he or she is aware of what you are anticipating.
Description of Work: Pacific Kitchens (PK) first came to our home and gave an estimate of cost, time to complete and what could be done: Cost: $12,454 Time to complete: 2 weeks What we wanted done: Kitchen cabinet doors would be replaced, a lazy susan would be installed in corner base cabinet, bread board would be replaced, soft close hinges would be installed, 2 new roll out drawers would replace tilt outs, all surfaces would receive a veneer that would match the stain on the doors, drawer fronts; a new drawer would fill small open shelf under the oven, sturdy sliding tracks and drawers would replace older, unsteady gliders. Family room bookcase surfaces veneered with new door fronts installed.

Pacific Kitchens workers were masters of their craft, and anxious to satisfy our goals...which they did.
Description of Work: Pacific Kitchens representative inspected our kitchen, listened to our goals for the kitchen, and then provided a detailed plan for accomplishing those goals, with a firm cost and time schedule. Experienced and knowledgeable craftsmen arrived on schedule, and meticulously dismantled the cabinet doors, facings, and drawer fronts. A screen was provided too isolate the work area to minimize the spread of dust throughout the house. All removed pieces and trash were removed leaving a very clean work area. Existing countertops were removed and the surfaces were prepared for installation of granite. New doors and drawer fronts were installed with new hinge hardware and new cabinet and drawer handles. Granite countertops were installed with great care to match slab patterns between major pieces and backsplash to countertop. All goals were met to our great satisfaction.

They were GREAT! We selected the countertop, cabinet facing, sink and fittings in their showroom. They set a time line for the project and were done on budget and on time. The work force was competent, pleasant, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day. They even installed two roller drawers for free! They kept us informed as to what was happening each day and did their best to work around our schedule. They were very reasonably priced (compared to some big box stores) and listened to our needs and desires in the planning process. We've recommended them to several friends and they've also had a great experience!

Overall, it was painless, but I wish the work was done right the first time.
Description of Work: The sales portion of PK was perfect, and they had a very knowledgeable staff. The execution of the project took longer than expected, but nothing that was of any inconvenience. The problem I have is with the fit and finish of the custom cabinets they made, and the laminate they used (it is currently falling off). Luckily, there work has a warranty, so I will call them back to do a bit of cleanup. However, they have fixed the same spot of loose laminate before, so I am hoping the next solution lasts a bit longer.

Response from PACIFIC KITCHENS INC
It would be impossible to finish this size of a job in just 3-4 days. The contract stated up to 12 work days in the home. Our installer's wife was 9 months pregnant with complications so there were some delays. However, the kitchen was useable and completed within that time frame. There were some issues such as the cracked door, that took some time to remedy, but again they were able to have full use of their kitchen. The customer chose the hardware out of a wholesale catalog and it was given to him at our cost. The flaked knobs were also replaced at no cost. (We do not manufacture the knobs). We sincerely do our best to make our customers happy. Please see our numerous other reviews for a more accurate report of the quality of our work and customer service.
