Otis Merry Painting

The job overall went great. The guys cleaned up every day, kept out of the way, were patient with us and our dogs, and were very nice. Otis kept a close eye on everything and came out almost daily (sometimes twice a day) to make sure everything was going as planned. He was always an e-mail or phone call away when we wanted to change or add anything. There were no hidden costs and the price was very reasonable. We are extremely happy with our "new house"!

He went through and made sure that the paint we were going to use was the same color as the rest of the house. I give them all As for their work.

Excellent work. Otis was very professional and made himself personally available during the project. His staff of 2 painters were punctual and efficient. They applied 2 coats and the project took 2 days to complete. They did an excellent job of protecting the other surfaces. I am fully satisfied and would use them again and would recommend them without hesitation.

Otis arrived for our initial consultation at the designated time. He and his team were polite, professional, thorough, and responsive. The house was power washed on a Tuesday, prepped on Thursday and Friday. They were so neat I was uncertain they had been there when I returned from work late Thursday evening. It wasn't till the morning that I saw what work had been done. All of my questions and concerns were noted and addressed. They are a finely tuned machine. Otis is the commander in chief with Marcus the field general. It was comforting to know we were in their hands. I look forward to seeing them again.

A few years ago, I had Otis do some painting in our home. He had previously custom-painted most of the house when first built and then we had him come back to do a few more rooms for us. At the time, we were amazed at his eye for color selection and the absolute professional manner in which he conducted his business. Now, I have my share of horror stories associated with hiring tradesman (before I discovered Angie's List) so I was very cautious when we first hired him. When I say he "works clean", I mean CLEAN. No mess ever and his staff are super professional. So when I decided to paint my work office, it was a "no brainer" to hire Otis Merry. I just told him to pick any color he wanted and work his magic. He did leave me a few samples of 4 color choices - any of them would have been great. His crew showed up on time (that gets an "A" right there in my book) and once again: amazing experience. I met his crew at the office, let them in, left for a few hours and when I returned: a beautifully painted office awaited me.I can't say enough good things about this company other than HIRE THEM and you, too, will be happy you did.

Otis is super friendly and very professional. He came out several times during the process: for the estimate, to choose colors and every day that his workers were here. We were really impressed that as the business owner he is so involved. We had an idea about the direction we wanted to go as far as colors but we let Otis and his expertise guide us and it turned out perfect. His crew is very courteous, professional and nice. They cleaned up every day and we really appreciated that. The work they preformed is high quality and looks like it will last many years to come. Part of this is because of their detailed prep work. All and all we love the results and would definitely recommend Otis Merry and his painters.

Excellent experience. Otis made himself available to guide us through the home inspection and paint selection processes. His painting team is highly professional. I highly recommend Otis Merry Painting and look forward to contracting with Otis again on additional home improvements.

The only problem is getting on his schedule. He is very busy.

I could not believe how professional and efficient his people were...not to mention how courteous. Every new "gotcha" (something unforeseen) that arose was met with a "we can do that" attitude. And they did. They were professional in every sense of the word. Would I have them back? You bet! Otis Merry is tops in my book....and he's a very nice man, too--a genuine pleasure to work with.

The house to be worked on had heavy deferred maintenance particularly the wood frame multi light windows and interior doors. Otis Merry Painting was one of two companies I called for an estimate. Both gave me pretty much the same price but Otis had included many more details he would provide as well as a time line which was very importqant as it is a fairly high end rental and needed to get back on the rental market. Having received this rental house back in such a disasteous condition I was at my wits end trying to figure out what should be done first. Otis is extrememly professional and yet very warm hearted and came up with great suggestions. He has a wonderful positive attitude. His team was equally professional. I was impressed with how hard they worked as well as how meticulous they were...not a drop of paint spilled on anything. If I had a concern it was addressed and taken care of immediately. Because my organizing was so scattered, a number of wooden screens being repaired didn't get back to the house before the painting job was done. Otis assurred me he would be back to paint the screens whenever I got them back to the house AND he did! Even though this project is done if I call Otis to ask for help with one more thing, he is always gracious and accommodating. He is now offering another service; repairing wood cabinets and floors with a technique that provides no dust, no mess, no odor in an extremely short turn around. I was disheartened after having the floors redone conventionally by another company and told that it is probably the last time they can be sanded Otis's tells me his revolutionary floor renewal can bring my floors back to a beautiful condition without having to go through the traditional method. I am thrilled to know they can be rescued when the time comes. I well definitely use Otis Merry Painting again..

After talking with Otis about my job, I felt good about him and hired him to paint my house. Though the price was quite a bit higher than I was told to expect from others who had had their larger houses recently painted, I thought it might be more because of the amount of wood that needed to be prepped. After waiting a month for the job to get started, I was very satisfied with the crew that did the work. They were very conscientious and hard working. The final product looks wonderful, and the crew wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied.

Mr. Merry's proposal was professional and specific to the work to be done, including the material to be used, preparation, number of coats of paint and the non-painted areas to be protected. His workers arrived promptly and proceeded to prepare the house for painting. They were very professional and hard working. The painting was completed in two days as promised and looks wonderful. My front door was very weather damaged and they sanded and stained it and it looks much better. When I wasn't satisfied with the glossy finish originally applied to the door, they sanded it down again and applied a very nice satin coat. They cleaned up their materials and left the place very tidy. All-in all, I was very satisfied with the job,

They did an excellent job at a fair price and I will definitely call them on my next painting job.

They paint colors and texture were done exactly as agreed upon and looked beautiful. The repair to the drywall and patching exceeded our expectations and there is no way we would have been able to point out where the damage had been after this great crew took care of things. They did a very professional job and were greatly appreciated.

Otis and crew did a great job. All the workers were very professional. They covered all carpets and floors and protected cabinets, etc and they cleaned up at the end of each day. Otis was very cooperative - he helped me choose colors and I love what we selected. We would certainly consider using this provider again.

The place looks fantastic. It's transformed. The crew was timely, neat and did an amazing job. They did a a wonderful job but also really did a wonderful job of taking care of my property. The job was challenging and they performed beyond what I had hoped for. My dearest friend is looking for a painter and I told her to hire Otis Merry Painting.

Very good work! This was a complex, difficult job - a large house and a smaller guest house, an inner court yard, two multilevel decks with extensive wood railings - 2+ story buildings sitting on uneven land on the edge of a canyon. Never a complaint from Otis or his employees. His employees are as invested in a-job-well-done as Otis is himself. Always left the job site clean every day. Good stucco patching and extensive wood trim repair. Otis is DETAIL oriented and it shows in the workmanship of his results. I struggled with all the paint color choices but I never felt pressured to make a choice; in fact, Otis was very helpful with color combination ideas. If you want it done once and done right, Otis is your man.

perfection. otis and his crew are simply wonderful! otis cares about his clients; he makes you feel as if your house is the most important thing in his world. as is usual with older homes, things pop up and take longer than anticipated, but otis did not short change me, he just added more men to the job, i can't get over how fabulous his work is!!!! his crew has been with him for a while; they were all very polite and showed a distinct sense of pride in their work. otis showed up on a regular basis to make sure things were running smoothly (even spent a day or two at my house working!), he was always looking for feedback to make sure i was satisfied with the work. when i had a color quandary, he was very patient with me and we even drove around the neighborhood so we could discuss color by looking at some different houses. his recommendation was spot on. in hindsight my initial color combination choice would not has looked nearly as nice as his suggestions. i would use otis again and again!

He and his crew arrived on the first day and immediately went to work. Otis always listened carefully to ensure our needs were met and that we were getting exactly what we wanted. His crew was very professional, very quiet, very clean and extremely polite and respectful. There was always a minimum of two people workers on the job during the two weeks of work. When it came to the final walk-through there were only a few minor items that need to be touched-up which is pretty amazing.

Otis came to the house and not only listened to what I wanted but was great with ideas and recommendations, and oversaw the entire project from start to finish. his crew was professional, punctual, CLEAN, and extremely responsive. I recommended Otis to a friend and they had the exact same experience. His prices are competitive, not the lowest, but his work and professional is worth every dollar spent. Will use him again before I look for anyone else.

We would definitely refer this company to our family and friends! There was good communication as to the timeline of the project (i.e. when they would start, length of day, approximate time of finish). The paint job itself has transformed our home into one that may get a look here and there, to one that has our whole neighborhood talking! I was very impressed with the attention to detail--they even passed my most stringent tests! Aside from their detailed work, the crew was very professional and went above and beyond what is expected of good customer service. They would bring me my mail, they helped to accommodate my roaming toddler, and were very respectful of our property and space. Being a stay-at-home mom, I'm sure my daughter and I presented a more complicated environment to work in, but you would never have known in their smiles and patience throughout the day. I know each of the crew by first name and appreciated their teamwork and dedication to a superior product.

Two of my neighbors had hired him within the last year and they had nothing but good things to say about him. He came and gave me a quote that was $500 less than what the first company offered. I asked about a military discount and he offers a 10% discount for military. He said he could send people out right away and he made it sound like it wasn?t a big deal at all. I told him that we?ve had some poor paint jobs in the past and we could only repaint the parts that were peeling or having other issues. The most work that they did was the south side of the house, they painted the front which is west, and they did touch-up work on the north side. It was about 25-35% of the exterior of our house. I would especially commend him for his professionalism. We have been in this house for five years and we?ve been through a lot of contractors. It seems like 90% of them were flakey, didn?t show up, didn?t call, or missed things. With Otis, this was not the case: he returned phone calls, sent contracts when he said he would, the contract said what he said it would, people showed up when they were supposed to, and he responded when I showed him areas that were not perfect.

It went very well. They did what I wanted and they did a great job.

Very professional owner and crew. All work was completed in a timely manner. The painting crew did an excellent job and was respectful and cautious with our furnishings and with cleanup. I would highly recommend Otis Merry Painting for all painting needs.

The team showed up on time and completely professional. I knew from the minute they walled in that the job was going to go well. The first job was to paint a media room. Unfortunately, the electronics had already been delivered and I was nervous as to moving them to paint. The painters were exceptionally careful and did one of the neatness full room paint jobs, I had ever experienced. The second job was to match the paint on a water damaged wall in the living room. Again, the team took the time to get it exactly right. The third job was the damaged popcorn ceiling in the bedroom over the bed. I look at that ceiling every morning and you can not tell where the repair work was done, it is that good.
