North Park Rug and Carpet is AWESOME! I needed to carpet an unfinished staircase within 48 hours (was having a house appraisal). I called and Mike was willing to help me the same day. I went over to the showroom and explained that I have animals and I was not sure if the carpet was going to be permanent, but I still wanted something that looked good. He took into consideration all of my concerns and he suggested some things on the show floor (nice options in his showroom). Then he asked if I was open to looking at the remnant area (these are the leftover carpet pieces after an installation). We looked at what was available and he found me carpet at a fraction of the price! I had checked around and I found nothing under $900 (and that would have been lower quality carpet). Mike really thought about what I wanted and was very accommodating and friendly (Kim was helpful also!). Installation was easy and professional. Steve came to do the measuring and sent a team to do the installation. He was helpful and very nice and the install team was professional and did a great job! I am happy that I had the opportunity to support a local family owned business. I will be recommending them to anyone that needs carpet or rugs! Thank you so much. ~Rachel

Mike and Kim are fabulous to work with. I went into their store a couple of times to ensure what I was looking for and not once did they pressure me. It was a family-owned company which I was looking for. I wanted that personal relationship. They didn't disappoint me. They were very helpful in helping me choose the carpet and we booked the date. It was a three-day job. The men who came out did an excellent job of installing the carpets. They took great care with moving our furniture. It was an excellent experience. We even had a different type of vacuum cleaner. The owner that had the carpet put in there came too and they helped me. I helped them with choosing a vacuum cleaner was concerned. The carpet has been wonderful. They checked up afterwards and made sure that everything was fine. It was just an overall pleasant experience for something that required so much preparation. They made it as pleasant as that job can be. I would definitely recommend them.

I sent an email asking about vinyl plank flooring and they honestly told me they did not specialize in that but if I wanted to do it here are the costs for materials and installation.

Everything went very smoothly. When I went to the storefront in North Park I told Mike, the owner that I wanted good quality carpet for a rental unit that wasn't too expensive. He immediately pointed me to several large rolls on the floor that they actually keep in stock because they are so popular for this application. Mike was able to set up a measurement and estimate for the following morning which took just a few minutes then called back later that day with the estimate. We accepted and 4 days later the new carpet was installed. The older carpet was repaired and it all looks great. The unit rented really quickly. This was an excellent experience and we would use North Park again, for our own home as well.

They were really nice. They gave me the flooring that was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as linoleum that looks like linoleum, so I had to choose between faux stone and faux wood. However, the floor still looks great. I would do business with them again. The price was very reasonable, although I don't remember the exact dollar amount I spent.

They were phenomenal to work with. There were no middlemen; I dealt with the owners directly. Their installers were terrific; they were neat, clean, and they did a great job. Their prices were reasonable.

They were personable. We went down to the store and talked to them and we like them. They came right out and measured, they were very accommodating and there was a good review we saw in Angie's list. They gave us a really good price, very easy to work with as far as to make arrangements for their truck to get in to the underground parking garage, getting in the elevator to the third floor but they are willing to work with us.

I can't say enough good about this business. We shopped all over San Diego for carpet and came back to this business because of the personal attention we received and the fact the owners knew so much about their products. We had our entire house done, each room in a different carpet. The owner and his wife run this business and each of them were able to help us find the right carpet for the right room They didn't push any one product but told us the pros and cons of each one and let us choose. The installers did a great job and we loved how it all turned out. It has been about 4 years since the install and there has been no stretching or problems with any of the carpets.I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

The installers are really the key to a good carpet company and North Park has professional installers who are their employees. They did an excellent job. I liked working with a local company rather than a huge corporate store using contract installers. The owners, Kim and Mike, know their product. When Mike came out to give me an estimate, he pointed out a number of things that I wouldn't have been aware of and that made the whole process easier.I highly recommend this firm.

We went to the store and were greeted by Steve, who walked us through their carpets, pros and cons of each given our situation (kids/dogs), and explained the different types of pricing. He was professional, knowledgeable, and was able to answer all of our questions. We took a few small samples home. We visited another place the same weekend as well, and had them both out to measure and quote us the following week. When Steve came out to the house, he brought a few more sample books based on some conversations we'd had on the phone in the interim about additional options and price points, and he happily left them with us to help us decide. One of those samples ended up being the one we chose. Ultimately, the quotes we got and and the measurements taken were nearly identical, so I doubt we scored some amazing 'deal' but they both seemed like fair prices given some of the research we had done along the way. We chose North Park Rug and Carpet in part because of excellent reviews others had posted and in part because Steve just seemed to be a very up-front, honest person, presenting information and options rather than 'selling.' Installation was tentatively set for a particular day, but we were warned that might not be enough time for the carpet to come in and so we had the next day in mind as a possibility as well. It did end up being the next day, and the installers (3 of them) showed up exactly at 8:30am, and other than a short lunch break, worked straight until 5:30pm. They were thorough, efficient, polite, and cleaned up behind them. They were careful moving our furniture and boxes from room to room and even moved some smaller things that I had planned to move myself had I known they were ready to do those areas.

Did comparative shopping and found them to be the most helpful, easy going, and able to meet our time frame and budget. Very reasonable, personable, and professional. We had a tight deadline and they made it happen. Ran into a few issues under the previously existing carpet and they were great to accomodate our needs and very patient while we made the needed repairs. Had to wait a few weeks on one of the rooms due to an unexpected sub flooring issue - no problem. One oversight on the type of padding we had ordered, after they had installed two rooms, but they made it right, right away, no question, no hassle, just did the superb customer service deal and then didn't charge us for the upgrade. Checked up on how things were going and were very timely, clean, friendly and we are happy with the job. We highly recommend this company. Mike and Kim were terrific!

Wonderful experience. I took a sample of the old carpet, planning to replace it with a similar one. Kim found a very close match, gave me additional samples that she recommended. I ended up choosing what she suggested and am happy with it. Installers were pleasant, skilled. Also got an estimate from Costco. Carpet qualities appear to be similar. ( Same manufacturer.). Costco price was higher and they couldn't leave a sample. I am glad I chose North Park Carpet.

We selected and purchased two large custom made area rugs from Mike and Kim owners of North Park Rug and Carpet. They were very helpful in showing us samples to consider. We made our selection and ordered the two area rugs to be made to our exact size requirements.. The two area rugs were delivered ahead of schedule and the actual delivery was made exactly at the time promised. The whole experience of dealing with Mike and Kim was excellent and we will definitely go back to North Park Rug and Carpet Company for all our future carpet needs.

I would recommend them. Their selection was good. They were good overall and I will use them again in the future.

I initially spoke with Mike - Owner on the phone. He advised me their process was to visit his show room, select a carpet, they would then come out and measure and provide installation dates. After visiting the show room (open only Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM not friendly hours for a working couple) we selected a berber carpet for home. A Monday measuring day was scheduled (again we're taking off work) and Mike the owner showed up 30 minutes late. He began by telling us why we didn't want berber (seams, etc) and we would be better off selecting another carpet. He was going to make some recommendations on a follow-up phone call. The call never came, the square ft or yards needed to re-carpet the house were never produced... Mike the Owner went off into never never land... not to be heard from since. We revisited Home Depot and are happy with the carpet, service, etc.

They did an excellent job - wonderful people to work with. I had a hard deadline due to an upcoming event and they went out of their way to find the carpet I wanted. The new carpet is beautiful and the two contractors doing the installation were real pros. It's a huge task to replace carpet in the entire home but they made it as painless as possible.
