Mt Helix Pest Control

Did one treatment and came back a few days later to do a second. Work nicely done and effective.

We are signed up for quarterly treatments. John has come to our house both times so far. The second time he was training someone new. He explained everything that they were going to do and where they were going to do it. They worked comfortably around our large dog. There were bugs. Now there gone.

Rob, the company owner, did the inspection. He didn't find any problems at all. He was extremely professional, punctual and thorough, as well as personable. Highly recommend his company.

I called Mt. Helix Pest Control for a home inspection after reading reviews on Angie's List. My wife is very concerned with keeping rodents away from the house and I am concerned with termites. The gentleman who performed the inspection could not have been more professional. He noted some very minor issues that I should keep any eye on long-term, but he did not see a need to pay for pest services at this time. I was floored by the honesty! There is no doubt that when I need pest control services that Mt. Helix will be the company I call.

They seem to been very very good. We will probably go with them.

After seeing a small termite swarm outside my house I called a couple of termite control firms that Angie's List recommended. Both firms sent professional, knowledgable technicians. After they talked me through the experience of dealing with termites we all agreed that we diidn't need to do anything this year. In short, It was a good experience.

They did very good. They were very professional. They got their estimate report to us in a timely manner. They did a follow-up without being pushy. Their price was well within reason. They were very clear when they came out and explained how to prepare for the fumigation. They showed up when they said they would. We would probably call this provider again. So far, I have not seen any termites.

The technician was on time, very polite, and answered my questions. After he left me with the list of inscticides that he used, I looked up the MSDS (material safety data sheets) that describe how the products should and should not be used. I was not happy when I read the MSDS for Phantom: do not make general surface or space applications such as for pantry pests in cupboards, cabinets or in containers; do not contaminate food or food contact surfaces; do not apply into heating or air conditioning vents or ducts. The tech sprayed into one of my food cabinets and on the intake duct for my heating/air conditioning. I was also not happy when I read the MSDS for Delta Dust: in living areas, make applications in such a manner as to avoid depositions on exposed surfaces or introducing the material into the air; in the home, all food processing surfaces and utensils should be covered during treatment or thoroughly washed before use. The tech dusted on ledges directly behind my toaster and utensil holders in the kitchen. The only precaution he had me make was to move items away from the ledge. I called the company to discuss this issue and to their credit, one of the owners called me back after talking to his tech. He said he was going to discuss the issue again with his tech to ensure it did not happen again with me or any other customers, and that this incident would go into his record.

They were on time and did the job carefully. No damage. About 2 weeks later we discovered many ants. I called them and they sprayed inside and outside the house at no charge. I gaot a senior discount. I highly recommend this company

They came out when they said they would. The young man was personable and seemed to know what he was talking about. He told us all we needed to know and his price was better than the other two bids we had. We are planning to go ahead and hire them.

I found out that termites had infested the attic when a roofer I'd hired to fix a leak looked in the attic and noticed termite droppings. He advised hiring a termite/pest control company to check it out. I found Mt. Helix Pest & Termite control company on Angie's list. I read many reviews but did not find any other company that I wanted to deal with for this situation, so I only got an estimate from Mt. Helix. Rob Bacon from Mt. Helix came out and did the inspection. He showed up on time and was nice to deal with. Rob did a great job of explaining exactly what he was looking for and showed me how to identify evidence of termites (pointed out the droppings, kick-out holes etc.). I really appreciated this extra information. I was absolutely dreading the possibility of having to do a whole-house tenting and wanted to avoid that if possible - I was very pleased that Rob recommended the localized treatment instead, even though it likely meant they would make less money. After getting the formal inspection report a couple of days later (by email and regular mail as I requested), I called back and scheduled an appointment. Before getting the treatment done I called and asked a bunch of questions and also emailed some more detailed questions to Mt. Helix. Rob answered all of my questions promptly. A few weeks later a technician from Mt. Helix (Tim) came out and did the treatment (sprayed the whole attic and injected the pesticide in the roof eaves over garage). This went very well. There were no issues with toxicity to worry about with the treatment they used, no smell, and no mess. The treatment also leaves a residue (not toxic to humans) in the attic which will continue to eliminate drywood termites (and as bonus also will prevent wood decay fungi and infestations from carpenter ants). They also put down a concrete(?) powder to cover the existing termite pellets & make it possible to identify any new droppings in the future. Both Rob and the technician were very competent and had many years of experience dealing with termites, so I felt very comfortable with both their advice and the application of the pesticide. It was good to find a company that uses a non-toxic chemical that actually works - several other companies offer different non-toxic treatment options that are not very effective (according to independent sources such as the University of California extension service).

They seemed very knowledgeable. The price was good. They came out when they said they would. I would use them again.

The owner was the first one to come out and tell me I had infestation. He was very thorough and polite. They subcontract, so my husband chose to go with a different company. They said they would match any bid.

Everything was well explained and professionally performed.

The technician discussed the termite infested area about which I was concerned. I have done some spot termite control and am comfortable with the work. Instead of selling me on tenting my home he coached me on how to more effectively perform spot extermination. He then walked around my house and showed me where to perform additional spot work. He could have sold me on a much bigger job. I will call Mt Helix again when I do need professional work.

We liked that they were able to spot treat instead of tenting the house. The cost was reasonable. They were knowledgeable about the problem. I was glad I investigated different companies. They were successful in getting rid of the termites in my house. They are not the best in communication and follow up service for further problems. We have had extenuating problems due to the termites.

They came and inspected the home and diagnosed the problem. The sub contractor fumigated the house. I presume that the termites are dead. They did not damage anything and it appears everything was done correctly.

I had read a lot of reviews on line. This was the best option of the ones I researched. They were very polite. The time frame worked out well for us.

This company did an excellent job. They provided a thorough report on the houses. Their quote tied to their report. They gave options for treatment or not treatment which were very laid out. They did what they said they would do.

He gave the senior discount without any question. Having my house tented is a lot of work but done by me everything went smoothly they said they would do exactly what they did and they were very helpful.

Rob Bacon was very nice to work with. He came out and performed an inspection and gave advice for my condo. He even instructed me not to pay them right away, so the could see if my condo association would pay for it. I would use Mt. Helix again if needed. They are phenomenal!

They explained everything clearly so I had no questions when we were done. They were right on time and extremely fast putting up and taking down the tent. I would use them again.

Came out 2nd day after my call. Arrived early for appt. Located several inactive nests I had not noticed and removed them. Gave me some advice about wasp behavior and preventing future infestations.

Rene was on time (in fact on the early side), polite and friendly. He explained a lot about the pests and how best to control them. Offered to come back in 10-15 days if the problem was not resolved.

They carefully tented the house and were very courteous and professional. They were knowledgeable and knew exactly what needed to be done. I was very happy with their personalized care. They were very good.
