Mr Fix It

Stacy the owner Mr Fix It. Came to my place and quoted $600-$900 for the repair of the list of sprinkler issues. The unfortunate thing is it was never put in writing!!! Have learned a big lesson there. Then after the job was two days in I asked how it was going. Stacy then replied it was a much bigger task than he had thought, He still hadn't repaired all the things on the list. I asked about the cost. Then he gave me the real news. Well, he had prepared an invoice for the work already done and the parts. $1500! I was shocked. Then the rest of the news that he wasn't completed. I still had 30 more sprinklers leaking and they were the BIG ones! I asked how much for the rest of the job. Again he quoted another $600-$900. I jokingly said "You mean $1500." I was upset and said fine get it finished for $600-$900 (a huge descrepency in his quote) but I wanted the job done. We had discussed if any sprinklers needed replacing that we would use Hunter sprinklers and at least start to make them all the same. It was the hottest week of the year. They did have a crew out there working. I was not around to watch them all the time. Only one evening when my husband came home for two days (he works away all the time). We were out in our back yard watching the chickens and having a glass of wine. Apparently, Stacy assumed if we had time and money to do that while he was fixing our sprinklers we could afford another huge bill. He sent the final invoice and needed the money asap. It was well over $4000! Remember I was expecting another bill around $600-$900. He is no expert in irrigation. I still have the same problems as before only now I have ALL new sprinklers supposedly all Hunters. All he did was go around and replace or cap off sprinklers. Some are now not working. He also mentioned they were warrented but he will not respond to my request for the warranty info. IHe also programed my system incorrectly. It was watering 4 cycles per day. Mywater bills were over $1700! Of course Mr Fix It kept telling me how much money I was going to now be saving after he put in all the right types of sprinklers. He is a know it all as well. So, he did not do as I asked and repair the list of items I had. He took it upon himself to abandon the plan and just repair it all by replacing all the sprinklers with new ones and then never came to mention the quote he had given me was completely off base by near 10x the amount. I have since found an irrigation specialist. He has been slowly repairing the repairs that Stacy had made. Of course now I don't have the money to put into the system as it went out the door with Mr Fix It. In the end I agreed to pay the parts and the amount of labor that we had agreed. Still more than double his quote!
