This company is the shadiest company I've ever done business with. The sales person who gave me the estimate, Al, was friendly enough but way underestimated my quote and I ended up paying over $1,700 more than expected. The movers who came we're very punctual and nice and thanked me for packing so much myself since it saved them time. They were very clear on what the process with the stickers was and how they would list everything out for me. They stored it for me for 2 months before I decided to get a storage unit in CO and keep my stuff here instead. The person I spoke to about delivery was Adam, the operations manager. Weeks go by and I didn't hear anything about my stuff. So I call and I'm told Adam will get back to me. Another week goes by and I still hadn't heard anything. I start to get a little nervous. When I finally get ahold of Adam he very rudely says "you're not our only client". As if I don't have a right to ask when my stuff will be delivered. He tells me my stuff should be here the next couple weeks and that I would be notified a few days in advance. So finally, after weeks of waiting, I get the text that my stuff will be delivered. I also got multiple texts reminding me that I need to pay the full balance to the driver by cashier's check before they can unload the truck. Driver asked for the check and I gave it to him. Now back in the beginning, my original movers had told me the stickers would be called out for me. The stickers were a disaster. There were multiple of the same numbers and a high amount of items without any sticker at all. My stuff is still in storage and I have no idea what boxes could be missing because everything was so mislabeled. A couple things were broken / scratched but still usable, so I wasn't too concerned. About 20 minutes into this process, I exclaimed how excited I was to get my beautiful blue couch back. The driver looked at me and said "it's not here" and I felt my heart drop. I thought he was kidding but he shook his head and said (not exact words) "I only have half of your stuff here, ma'am. I was told not to say anything to you until you noticed and then have you call Adam so he can explain. He is going to pretend like this is a mistake, but you seem like a really nice lady and I don't want you to get screwed." They had loaded his truck with half of my belongings, and half of someone else's belongings. How does that make sense? I called Adam, but he kept ignoring my phone calls. I texted him and told him he needs to answer or the next call I make is to my lawyer. He texted back and said, "I'm trying to find out what happened". But I know he knew exactly what was going on. He finally called me back and tried to pretend like it was an accident, and someone made a mistake. I called him out on it, so he started saying it was "Industry standard", it's not. I have since talked to multiple moving companies and they agree that this is not a normal thing and is extremely shady behavior. I insisted he give me my check back and I would pay him when I got the rest of my stuff. He kept saying he "can't authorize that" (he is a part owner and is perfectly capable of authorizing it). I kept insisting until he got to the point where he was trying to hang up. I didn't let him. I told him it was his responsibility to come up with a viable solution to this issue. So he finally said I could take my check back if I deposit half the money into his account when the banks opened the next day. I agreed. Mind you, this is after almost an hour of arguing. Anyway, I deposit the money the next day after they send me the account info. A couple weeks later, they told me my stuff would be delivered. The driver had brought a guy with him from San Diego and they were very nice and helpful. But then they started unloading and some of my things were SMASHED beyond repair. My desk, 2 of my bookcases, a lamp shade that somehow didn't make it into a box, and a few other items. After going through the whole list, there were items that were missing for sure. My wheelbarrow, 2 nice patio chairs, and an expensive file cabinet. There could be boxes missing but again, I don't know because the labeling was so terrible. The driver, Kevin, took pictures of everything broken and made a list of all items damaged and missing for me. He assured me he would put in a claim on my behalf. it's been almost 2 months and I still have almost no information about my claim. They refuse to answer any questions about the contract I have (they're saying they will only give me $300). I have now submitted a BBB complaint. Worst business ever, stay far away.

Mission Transportation will deliberately provide you with a misleading quote to win your job, knowing that they will increase your price after they have all of your stuff on their truck and you are out of time and options. Mission Transportation sent their employee to my home on June 20, 2018 to provide a Binding Estimate Of Cost to pack and move my household goods from California to Florida. After walking through every room of my house and garage and personally verifying all goods to be moved, their employee provided a Binding Estimate Of Cost of around $5,000 to move 850 cubic feet of household goods. On June 26, 2018, a Mission Transportation crew arrived at my home to assist in packing and to load all of my goods into their truck. After everything was loaded onto the truck and the crew was ready to leave, I was informed by the crew leader that their estimator had "made a mistake" and now my new Binding Estimate Of Cost was almost $9,000, nearly double the original quote! Before paying the moving crew, I spoke with Mission Transportation's Operations Manager by telephone. He told me that he could only adjust the charges by removing a fuel surcharge, and that somebody from their billing department would be contacting me to discuss further adjustments. He also told me that I had to pay 50% of the increased charges immediately to have my goods released. I paid Mission Transportation for half of the charges because it was my only feasible option and because the Operations Manager indicated that the company would be contacting me to negotiate a fair price, given their responsibility for the inaccurate estimate. When my goods arrived in Florida, I paid the carrier for the remaining charges, because that was my only option for receiving my goods. Mission Transportation never contacted me to discuss the errant estimate. When planning for this move, I requested multiple estimates and chose Mission Transportation because 1) they sent an employee to my home to provide their estimate and 2) because the price they quoted was competitive. Mission Transportation either provided an inaccurate quote due to incompetence or deliberately quoted low in order to win the job. In either case, they misled me. I would have chosen a different company to move my goods if Mission Transportation had been accurate and/or honest. They are neither accurate nor honest.
