MICHAEL EARLY CONSTRUCTION

Michael Early needs to reconsider his career choice. We had our kitchen and bathrooms remodeled by him. The work he did himself looks like a 5 year old did it. I have fixed so many things in the last month since he “finished” I can not count them. I spent a few hours yesterday fixing 2 thresholds he had put back himself after tile which had already come loose 1 month after completion. My wife was 8 months pregnant and she did more organization and scheduling than they did. There were 5 days she sat at home waiting for workers to show and no one did. Also in the middle of the entire process Michael took a 2 week vacation and none of his employees were competent enough to do any work without him. If you want an ikea dresser built maybe he is your guy but any real work he is afraid of. We knew it was bad when we would tell his sub contractors “Michael is going to do that himself” and they would roll their eyes and laugh. Don’t make the same mistake we did. You could probably do a better job yourself!

Everything went very well, a little things to touch up, always on time. We are very happy with their work.

Overall the job went well and would use Michael again and would recommend to others and the positive experiences far exceeded the negative experiences; The Good - Punctual and kept to schedule commitment. This was of most importance as I was scheduling flooring installers and other contractors immediately after. He was able to start and complete on schedule which was great. Was available to meet delivery truck of IKEA cabinets and receive everything at the house. - Was responsive to my questions and need. I was given his personnel cell number which he answered my calls on the weekend even when he was spending time with family. This was critical as I was purchasing the IKEA cabinets over the weekend and needed questions answered. - Quality of work was great. Very pleased with the installation and have not had to call back for any issues. - Professionalism/Customer Relations was excellent. There was a mix up which I thought I would be able to buy the bathroom sinks from the countertop contractor which was not the case. I had to buy the sinks from Home Depot online which Michael agreed to pick up himself which was a big help. - Other; They did leave surplus countertop material behind which I may need down the road. - The bathroom mirrors needed to be removed and initially they indicated a glass company would need to remove which I thought was an unnecessary cost. They eventually did agree to remove and dispose of as part of the bathroom demo cost. The Bad - Pricing; I'm detailed, analytical and want to know what I'm paying for. Quotes were available by job but no breakdown in how priced. For example, $2500 to assemble and install kitchen cabinetry with no supporting detail how priced. - I picked out the countertops and could have them install directly for me or go through MEC. My preference was through MEC although the quote from MEC seemed high. I questioned the pricing and essentially told they do not disclose how they price their work and mark ups. So, if understanding the pricing is important to you, ask up front.

Michael has his finger in a number of businesses, and uses his workmen on whichever was the most pressing at any given moment. We had some delays, but nothing like the horror stories we heard from other people using other contractors.

Super grateful for Michael Early and his team. They installed our kitchen, bath and laundry IKEA cabinets. They walked into an unplanned, partially bought IKEA house and made sense of it all in no time. It looks beautiful, and I'm crazy picky. We now have a house with IKEA clean lines, and a custom look. So professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

If you’re going to have an Ikea kitchen installed, Michael Early Construction is the company to use. The price is reasonable and the work impeccable. We had Tony’s team – they were punctual, professional, tidy and friendly. They worked quickly but carefully. The job was a little tricky because we have a 1980’s condo so the walls aren’t plumb and we were installing an appliance hutch and Boos wood countertop so the measurements had to be exact. Tony customized a cabinet above the refrigerator. Tony and Michael made sure everything came out perfect. They checked and re-checked and made everything work in an irregular space. We are so pleased with their work. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

After having a terrible experience with another company that specializes in Ikea kitchen installation, we were ecstatic to work with Michael Early Construction. They were prompt and the price was fair. Their work was excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to install an Ikea kitchen.

First met Michael Early about 13 yrs ago when he installed a custom wall unit in a list I owned. Called him to assist with a remodel in a new condo I purchased. Michael responded promptly came out and together we brainstormed on ideas to reconfigure a new kitchen design. His crew installed an Ikea kitchen with some modifications to meet our specific needs. MEC is professional and stand by their work. Communication was great and response was always prompt. I wouldn't hesitate recommending MEC.

Michael Early responded politely and professionally to my Phone call for an estimate and scheduled a representative to come to my home. The representative showed up on time and appeared to listen to my ideas for the kitchen cabinets and offered suggestions. I paid the required$75 by check. I next received an email requiring an additional $150.00 in order to see the plans they drew up. I was surprised to have to pay so much money up front without seeing any product. They said the money would be applied to the work done if I accepted their business. I turned them down and asked for a refund of the $75. They agreed to not cash the check. I am having major work done on my kitchen and have since brought in 3 other contractors for ideas and estimates- none charged me for the initial visit. When I am contracting for a job that will cost and 40,000+ I want to know the contractor shares my vision and will communicate clearly with me- no surprise fees.

They really understood the Ikea kitchens very well. They came over to my house, took a look, and showed me what problems we may have.

It was a simple job, but there was no waiting around and no problem.

They spoiled us for all home renovations projects. They helped with the initial design of the kitchen; they were in and out in 4 days; they did exactly what we asked, and in the time-frame they initially told us; they were patient with stupid questions, and with changes to details that I made on more than one occasion; and the work was impeccable. We would highly recommend them.

The service was provided on a short time frame I needed. Staff at IKEA recommended the company because Michael had been installing their cupboards for over a decade. The owner came out quickly, reviewed my plan from IKEA and made some really helpful suggestions that I agreed with. The lead staff came out and marked all the measurements on the wall and then He sent out several staff to do the install and in 2 days it was finished ahead of time. A piece of trim was missing from the order and they called me 2 weeks later to set up a time to finish the last couple details. The staff were very pleasant and clearly liked working together. It was a pleasure to have this company provide the services. I would not use anyone else for a kitchen install.

We remodeled our entire kitchen from top to bottom purchasing from Ikea. Micheal Early Construction installed all our kitchen cabinets and did a wonderful job. We found their rates to be very competitive which is why we initially decided to go with this company. They responded immediately to our request for pricing and availability information and were very friendly and provided a quote right away. They were available the very next week to begin work, which was great. We ended up having to reschedule installation due to a problem with our dry wall and ME Construction was able to reschedule to the next week with no problems. Really great to work with them. They quoted three days to complete the project but were able to finish everything in a day and a half. Nathan did the installation and was really friendly. The final result was just great, we are really pleased. I would definitely recommend Micheal Early Construction to friends, the overall experience from start to finish was fantastic.

I called and left a message on recorder. Secretary called back and asked about job which involves minor adjustments to cabinet doors and drawers ( to make soft close feature work better and stop doors from rubbing at top). She quoted $100 per hour. She said owner was on vacation until Oct 4. I have received no return call yet but maybe my expectations are too high.

I hired Michael Early Construction because I needed someone to install Ikea cabinets who could do some semi-custom work with them. They came to my home and drew up several plans for me (to the Ikea database so I could call it up at home or when at Ikea). They helped me as much as they could on decisions regarding design and function. When the installers got to my house the first day they seemed pretty on the ball but some were better than others. My kitchen has quite a few cabinets but it took 2 days beyond what they estimated for install. There were several mistakes that I was able to catch because I was at home and would check on progress every few hours. Considering how many cabinets and the few custom things I needed done I was satisfied with the work. However there did seem to be some problems with communication between the designer and the installers - this is why I was glad I was able to take a few days off work to oversee things. They were a good group of people that I would certainly hire again in the future.My kitchen came out beautiful and saved a lot of money going with IKEA - it is now one year later and I am still blow away at how gorgeous it is.

I purchased my cabinets at IKEA with the intention of putting them up with my husband's help. Once we got the delivery and saw the complexity of the construction of the cabinets, we decided to hire someone to construct and install for us....and we are so glad we did! Ray did an awesome job and we are so happy with the final outcome. He even finished a day before was estimated, which was nice. I would recommend Michael Early Construction to anyone.

I was referred to Michael Early Construction by Ikea while investigating their cabinetry, etc for my large kitchen. MEC is a certified Ikea designer and installer adn offers a refundable measuring service. MEC office staff Laura and Kacie were both very responsive and helpful in the design and ordering process. On the appointed day, Tony and three other workers arrived, explained their procedures and set to work. Ikea had delivered 201 "pieces and parts" to my new kitchen previously and, while I found all those boxes and parts overwhelming, the guys certainly did not. In three days, 19 very large cabinets went together and up on my walls - between quick breaks while we watched the newborn birds being fed "CHOW TIME". The guys were all very nice and respectful and yes, I let them use my restroom and provided cold water (apparently not everyone does!). They left the premises swept and neat every day. At the end of the job, Tony showed me how to adjust the door dampers. While installing the flooring, we discovered that one of the toe kick pieces was split due to a too-deep saw cut. I am certain that MEC will correct this using a spare piece of toe kick blank that I have. My only "con" would probably be that they do not contract to remove the 4 foot high pile of cardboard all those beautiful cabinets came packaged in. It's going to take a long time to get it all in my biweekly recycle barrel. All in all, they did a fine job and I'm satisfied.

Michael Early's team was fantastic. Everyone involved was extremely, extremely professional and courteous. They were even faster than they said they would be. They did the work very well. We've lived with the kitchen for years now, and have never found a mistake or problem. We plan to use them again in the future when we do our bathrooms, and we've recommended them to everyone we know. There is no way a contractor could be better than they were.
