+ -1 moreMy condo was left a mess from my former tenant. I thought I would have to replace the carpet. Mega-dry came in and did an absolute fantastic job at a very reasonable price. The carpet was dry and walkable by the time I checked two hours later. They saved me a ton of money! I liked their job and professionalism so much, I am going to hire them for my own home in the near future.

The phone response was outstanding and he was punctual. He came in while I was on a conference call and he did all the spot cleaning and everything else while I was here. + -1 moreI booked my appointment with the wife of the operation. She was helpful and was able to book an appointment right away. She called the day of the appointment to explain that the husband was running a little behind, which I appreciated. The husband arrived and explained the "mega-dry" process. I didn't know that I would be dry-cleaning my carpets, but that's what this is about. I probably would have researched this a little more as I'm a bit weary of dry-cleaning chemicals. Anyway, he vacuumed my carpets, applied the cleaning solution, used what looked like a buffer to rub the carpet, and then raked the carpet.
Description of Work: He vacuumed the carpets, applied the cleaning solution, used a buffer to rub the carpets and then raked them. They look amazing and dried much more quickly than with steam cleaning. There were some stains from the wood stain on the legs of my furniture that wouldn't come out, but I had low expectations of those stains coming out.

Description of Work: Gerardo cleaned a very dirty, stained carpet from a rental unit. He was punctual (early actually), pleasant and did a very nice job. He added a deodorizer for free and cleaned the linoleum bathroom floor without me asking (or paying) for it. A very good value!

+ -1 moreGerardo did an outstanding job. He is very good at what he does and offers superior customer service. He has been cleaning carpets for decades and knows all the tricks, and at the same time really cares about making you happy. We were concerned about the cleaning process since we've always used steam cleaning in the past. However the carpets looked and smelled great once they were clean. A nice advantage with his method is that it takes the carpets only an hour or two to dry and not a day or two like it does with steam cleaning (which causes the dirt on the padding to come thru.) Out of all the carpet guys we've used in the past, these guys gave us the most bang for the buck.

+ -1 moreThe owner, Gerardo, arrived in the time window agreed having called ahead to advise us that he was on the way. He performed the work himself, unassisted. He was very careful with his equipment and very neat. He worked quickly and carefully completing the entire job in about 30 minutes (we had cleared the rooms ahead of time). Carpets look great. One particularly soiled area looks almost new. This is not a steam process so drying is very quick. We could walk on the carpet after two hours. When we replaced the furniture about 6 hours later there was just a hint of dampness. This was our second time with Mega-Dry and we would use and recommend them in the future.
Description of Work: Wall-to-wall carpet cleaned in two bedrooms each about 9x12 ft.

They vacuumed beforehand, even though the floor didn't really need it. They even vacuumed the dog's bed on their way out - and they weren't going to clean that! Great experience. Father and son team. + -1 morei called Mega-Clean and scheduled an appointment. The person who answered the phone spoke English but it was a little bit hard to give the address because of a thick accent (that may have been he owner). He accepted the Angie's coupon and gave a firm price. He called to ask if he could be twenty minutes early and I said yes. He came with one other man and they did a very good job. I asked about cleaning my chairs (which I did not mention on the phone) but they did not have the right equipment for that. He offered to come back the following week to do them but I said I would wait until my next carpet cleaning. They took about 21/2 hours to do the house and did a good job. They vacuumed first, moved things out of the way, and placed little plastic protectors under my wood chairs. They were neat, hard working and friendly. The lead man spoke English well so it was easy to communicate. The other man might have spoke English, I did not talk to him other than shaking his hand. I liked them and will use them again.

+ -1 moreThis team was great. Very precise, through, very organized. Walked the whole house, pointed out minor to extreme spots to be removed. Had 1 problem issue on the floor, red stain, Gerardo was very confident he would be able to remove. Did need a special treatment with an additional cost. WOW, $15 more dollars to take out a red stain in the middle of my floor. I was more than happy to pay!!!! His son, which I'm sorry don't remember the name, extremely respectful. Even talked about Angie's list and how much he appreciated the effort people put into the reviews of his service!! Even offered to fix a piece of carpet that was coming up. AND, offered to replace the piece when he comes back next time. Which will be in 1 year form today. Will recommend to anyone who has carpets to be cleaned. And BTW, carpet was dry in less than 2 1/2 hours. And who don't like the feel of new, clean carpet on there feet? I know my dog does!!!

+ -1 moreThese guys are the best!! They are a family owned business that really care about giving the best service and satisfying the customer.
Description of Work: This father and son team showed up promptly and spent the first 15 minutes or so going over my two-story 2700 sq. ft. house, of which 100% is wall-to-wall carpeted. Before they started cleaning, I asked them to install protective heavy paper on my cherry wood staircase, and they took the necessary time to tape the paper down with blue tape.Then they got to work cleaning the carpets. The son brought in a vacuum cleaner to vacuum the carpets, but I told him it wouldn't be necessary because my housekeeper had just been here a couple of days prior to their visit. However, I was impressed by their diligence in this respect. This is the first time ever that a carpet cleaner has started by vacuuming the carpets first. They worked very methodically and efficiently, and they were here about 3 hours. They moved furniture as necessary (except for extremely heavy pieces) and used plastic shields under furniture legs that were very easy to remove later. They seemed very knowledgeable and patiently explained different kinds of stains. I had a stain on my kitchen carpet from blueberries that I had made worse by spraying "Spot Shot" on it. Even so, he treated the stain and it became almost unnoticeable within three or four weeks. I was extremely appreciative because I had thought my carpet had been ruined and was going to have to be replaced. The method they use is a "dry cleaning" method. There is no heavy equipment to bang into furniture or hoses running through the house or anything to get wet. They treat the stains, then spray something on the carpet to draw out the dirt, and then they use a rubber carpet rake to fluff up the fibers and make the carpet look brand new again. Everything was dry within an hour or two after they finished.

+ -1 moreThey were fine and good. They were professional and they did a good job. They did waterless cleaning but I do not favor it. I do not know whether the carpets were clean but their process was waterless. They probably were clean but I do not think they were as clean as when they use water. The company was friendly. They could not remove a stain from the carpet. My husband wanted to try out this waterless cleaning once. I have no problem with the company but I do not like their process.

+ -1 moreI am used to Chem-Dry or Steam cleaning carpets. That's what I was expected. If you go to the Mega-Dry website it will tell you what they do. They spray your rug and then use pads to move the dirt around and push it to the bottom of the carpet. While my carpets look good my rugs look horrible and we vacuumed them that night and removed a ton of dog hair that he left behind. Just read his website. He was friendly, punctual, and professional.

+ -1 moreIt was easy to schedule the appt and the person was very friendly and accommodating. My appointment was to be between 11 and 1. I received a call at 11 that they were in Del Mar and would not be able to get to my house until 1-1:30. This was disappointing but they were actually able to show up by 12:45 which was in the promised time frame. Mr. Rojas and his son were very pleasant and courteous. They vacuumed before they began cleaning the carpet, however, did not move any furniture, just cleaned around it. They did not wear any shoe covers, nor protect the hardwood floor that abutted the carpet as other companies had in the past. They worked very efficiently while there however damaged a wall with the carpet cleaner. Mr. Rojas was very apologetic and repaired the damage with materials that we had. This was very disappointing. I think the stairs and deep frieze carpets were challenging for them to clean and they did not come out as clean as they have in the past when I have used other companies and the carpets were very wet when they left. Mr. Rojas reduced my price by $45 for the inconvenience of the damage, I appreciated this. After reading all of the glowing reviews of Mega-Dry (an ironic name in my case) I have to admit I was disappointed in the end product when compared to companies I have used in the past. Mr. Rojas and his son worked efficiently and were courteous however I do not think I would use them again.

The carpet is a year old and walking areas near the front door were quite dirty. There were no major stains but I do have a dog, so the carpet really needed the cleaning. It now looks new again.
