I called Matt 15 minutes after he was supposed to show up at my house to provide an estimate. He had totally spaced on the appointment... He did offer to come right away but would have taken another 30 minutes and I was on my lunch break. He then went on to ask me if I were getting multiple bids (yes I was) and that he would likely come in much higher because of his superior quality of workmanship. He said he usually does high end projects, pays his workers $25/hr, blah blah blah. Mind you, he knew nothing of my situation, my home, the size of the job, etc. I actually felt insulted by the manner in which he seemed to presume I was looking to go with a sub-par contractor -- whoever gave me the lowest bid. I ended the call by letting him know we would not be a good match and that I would expect such a high-end contractor to meet (or at least call to re-schedule) their appointments. This guy was full of excuses and very unprofessional.

I can't believe how above and beyond Matt went. He came in for the initial estimate and I told him how much I wanted to spend and he told me how much he would be able to do for that amount. He also said if we ended up using him to re-paint our condo, he would fix some of the baseboards that were coming loose from the floor. Not only did he fix the baseboards, but he painted much more than he originally said he would be able to do and he did a lot of repair work on the walls that we were planning on hiring a handyman to repair. He did so much extra work that we don't even have to hire the repair man now. The condo is immaculate now, he really did a fantastic job. He was always very pleasant on the phone and very responsive. He fit us right in to his busy schedule even though he was planning on taking a vacation soon. I would definitely recommend Matt's company to everyone and I for sure will use his services again.

Went very well. First hired for interior, then had the crew also paint exterior. Job well done. Will use again. They are careful, considerate and they know their business. They do a careful job with attention to every detail. They will work hard but good work takes time!

Matthew was very prompt in responding to my emails, and he arrived on time when he said he would. That's very important to me as I work full-time and have to squeeze these projects into my vacation time. He and his guys were friendly and polite. They worked very hard during very hot weather (in the middle of a heat wave) and got the job done in 1.5 days (prep, prime, two coats in some places). The kitchen looks so much better and I was pleased with the outcome. It was a positive experience, and I would hire them again

We did not hire this company after trying to clarify some things about their estimate just as we did with the other two painting contractors (also small business just as this one) we got estimates from. In entering our third remodel over the past several years, we looked to Angie's List for a couple of extra painting contractors to get estimates from for the interior painting of our home as well as painting the interior of our garage, re-texturing our garage ceiling and re-doing the epoxy on the garage floor. Matt, the owner of Mathew Licata Painting, was the only one of the three painting contractors who was unwilling to provide us with a written estimate detailing what was included in it. Matt stated on two separate follow up phone calls that he would only be willing to provide a written quote once we hired his company for our painting and/or epoxy and ceiling work. Specifically, he stated that he already gave us his verbal word that "everything would be done perfectly" for us if we hired him. But, without a written estimate detailing the work that was to be included in his estimate there was no concrete or specific way we could know what that means. Further, he stated he had already given us a fair verbal price for the work. So, on the second call I made to him to clarify the scope of work his estimate includes he stated that I seemed more interested in "pinching pennies" that getting quality work (even though I did not bring up pricing questions and only tried to clarify the scope of work included in his estimate), that he was putting in too much work in answering my clarifying questions, and that I was too difficult to work with for this reason. So, right then and there he decided to opt out of our job which was Ok with my husband and I. We feel Matt was not actually interested in earning our business like the other two painting contractors were and were working to do. In fact, the other two painting contractors provided us written estimates right up front that detailed the scope of work they included, and they were both very profession and pleasant where answering any questions we had about their estimates were concerned. Matt's response with me in the second, and final, call with regard to our clarifying questions was aggressive, assuming, and very unprofessional. We would not recommend working with Matt Licata Painting to anyone.

It went great. Matt showed up with a partner, was very punctual and professional. I felt very comfortable having them in my home and felt they were utilizing their time well. After the job was done they cleaned up and even went so far as to put shelving back up and move some furniture back. Fantastic job. We will have him back for future jobs!

I bought a painter for a week deal for 999 and also paid for some additional work to be done. I was so happy with Mathew and his crew. They did a great job and most important to me made it stress free for me. They showed up on time, got straight to working and they worked really hard! I noticed Mathew was constantly checking and rechecking his other guys work to make sure it was all done correctly. When they left I swear my house was cleaner than when they started the job. I am so thrilled and the next time I need a painter I will be calling him. Also, his price is right! He really gave us a great deal for as much work as we had done.

After finding out that the bathroom paint was oiled base they put on one coat and came back a couple weeks later and put on a second coat. It looks great. They were always prompt and very professional.

Matthew and his co-worker were punctual, polite, professional and eager to please. Matthew was very eager to ensure that I was satisfied with his work. He was a pleasure to work with.

Matt and his crew showed up right on time. Very nice, mellow group of workers. They all were very helpful and professional and quick.This was a Big Deal based on time, so they could have worked slowly and taken up more time doing a few jobs. Instead all three guys painted quickly but thoroughly and got more done then I had planned. Saved my outside patio cover which was not easy to paint. Very happy and highly recommend. Planning on using them to paint my whole house now. Thanks, guys.

They were on time, clean, and really fast. And it looks great!

I called Matt on a rush as I needed these repairs done quickly in order for me and my family to move into this house. Matt had already done work for me previously and I knew the kind of work he does and he did it again. He knew I was going through a hard time and he was very kind and accommodated the work I needed in his busy schedule and he and his crew worked long days and a weekend to finish by the time I needed to move in. I couldn't be more pleased with Matt's work. He is very meticulous in the work he does and I would hire him again and I will be referring him to other people as I already have. Thank you Matt, pleasure working with you and your crew.

Matt Licata and his crew did a great job of painting the interior of the house. I had a small window of opportunity to paint since I was also getting new carpet installed. Although Matt and his crew were extremely busy, he started the job as promised and finished as promised.Matt and his crew patched up holes in the walls were the previous owner hung some heavy pictures and TV brackets. You can't tell where the holes were, great job in the prep work.When the job was done, the house was left spotless, no mess for me to clean up.Matt also went the extra mile. I had mentioned to Matt to give me an estimate for patching up a small area of exterior stucco that I wanted to fix. When Matt finished the interior painting, he patched up the stucco at no charge. I was extremely pleased with Matt and his crew's quality of work. If I ever have any painting that needs to be done, I would call him before I call anyone else.

Licata's bid was higher than either other bid I received. When he realized this, he attempted to win me over by casting doubt on the other painters. This did nothing to improve his chances, as I was confident of the bid I was going with, and only convinced me tht I would never ask him for any project in the future.

I was impressed with Matthew's communication style and desire to do a quality job. He made several suggestions that made a lot of sense that I likely would have overlooked. I've decided just to touch up places for now and put off painting the entire house until a later date, but I will definitely consider Matthew for the job when the time comes.

An exercise in frustration. Mr. Licata is a very busy man. Too busy to take care of consumers who have already paid for his services.

Good communication skills. Highly skilled team of painters. 8 year old design star wanna-be picked the paint scheme for her room with pink and green. I just knew it would look like a sick watermelon, however, it is fabulous. It looks like we paid way more money than we did. Matt's crew is very personable and efficient. You absolutely get your money's worth with these guys. Finally, their attention to detail was incredible. They caulked gaps in the baseboards and made perfect trim lines of things that I had resigned myself to accepting would never look good (my house is 60 years old). I would consider these guys high-end quality painters.

Matt was meticulous and thorough in the prep work to do this project. I was impressed at his knowledge for his craft. He sprayed oil-based paint on everything but the ceilings and walls and knew the paint needed at least a day to really set up before he could tape and do the ceilings and walls. We waited the day and the rest went very smoothly. I would definitely hire Matt again.

He was very professional and his painting was expert. I'm a very picky home-owner and he met my level of satisfaction.

They were on time & were professional. They did a great job & were able to complete the work in a timely manner - 2 workers finished in only 4 hours. They patched the wall first & applied two coats of paint. They cleaned up their mess & even vacuumed everything including behind my bed! They went above and beyond.

Did excellent job, coverage very even, cutting was excellent (the area where two painted areas of different colors meet). Also did some sealing in the bathroom and hole patching that was beyond the call of duty and much appreciated. They were very nice and considerate. After the job was complete, they did a good walk-through explaining everything that was done. We are planning on using them to paint our exterior once we get the money together.

Matt and his crew are the best, I heard about him from a friend who has used his services and I also found him on Angie's list and read all his great reports! I immediately liked Matt and his crew. They are very professional, nice group of people to work with. They finished before the scheduled time. I was surprised because there was a lot of work to be done, but they worked late and over the weekend which they didn't have to but they did. I made a few changes and Matt was very understanding. I got a couple of other bids and Matt's bid was very reasonable and I was impressed by his professionalism! I would definitely use his services again and I will tell everyone about him and his company. My house looks beautiful! Thanks Matt and company! Excellent work!

Matt and his crew did a wonderful job and they fully deserve their A rating. They were very fast, completed everything on time, cleaned up after themselves and the quality of the work was excellent. The house looks wonderful. Matt also coordinated his work with a bathroom contractor who was working in the house at the same time.

He and his brother work clean and neat without all the time consuming masking for painting. Both did a good job.

They both laid out the tarps, ladders and quickly started. It was not an easy job because I had 20 ft. ceiling walls that need painting plus a lot of cutting around cabinetry and stairway railings. They finished doing my two story home amazingly in four hours. The job included a large hallway, large entry area and a large combination dining/den area. Their worksmanship is excellent and I didn't see any paint drips, spatters, spills, missed spots, or bad edging. They removed any debris, cleaned any tools used, and finished in a timely manner. I highly recommend Matthew Licata Painting Services and would hire them again. Matt informed me that they do cabinetry painting and exterior painting also.
