MASSEY'S CARPET & DRAPERY

Promised to beat Home Depot and he did. He did it by using all of the little pieces that were left instead of using another large piece. My bedroom carpet has 5 seams. It has been almost 3 months and the piecing is becoming more and more obvious. And I am finding spots with glue all over the carpet. The carpet layer asked to use my vacuum. Then he broke the cord holder and did not even bother to tell me. He reused my carpet pad and refunded very little for this use.

Massey's Carpet installed carpet and laminate flooring throughout our home. Overall, they did a good job though I think the sales pitch is a little misleading. They show you several lower priced carpet samples which are not quite right. Then they pull out the nice stuff, with a higher price, with several colors that work. Installation was uneventful, though I must give the laminate crew rave review for their ability to come up with neat and professional solutions to the several little gnarly problems they encountered.

Good product, but strange customer experience. The rep didn't show up for the first appointment, claiming that they don't show up unless they can call to confirm by phone. Since I had already called in to confirm, and I didn't yet have a phone line installed. I was pretty confused by this. Also, after the sales rep measured the windows, the fitter came by to measure the windows on another day. Then I had to wait aother two weeks for the blinds to be made and then fitted. This all seemed unnecessarily inefficient. The blinds were quality in the end though. So, rely on a good product, just don't be in a hurry.

THE WORK WAS DONE PERFECTLY, BUT THEY TOOK MUCH LONGER TO INSTALL THAN I WAS TOLD (4 WKS VS 2 1/2 WKS) AND I FELT (LATER) THAT THE PRICE WAS HIGH. THE WORKMAN ALSO WAS LATE THE DAY OF THE JOB.

WHEN THE BID WAS GIVEN TO US, I ASKED WHAT THE PRICE PER SQUARE FOOT WAS. THE SALES AGENT SAID ABOUT $20/SF. IT TURNED OUT THE BID WAS $22.85/ SF. AFTER WE REALIZED THE DIFFERENCE, WE CONTACTED ANOTHER COMPANY THAT WE ENDED UP REALLY LIKING, AND WENT WITH THEIR BID WHICH WAS ABOVE $20/SF BUT LOWER THAN THE FIRST COMPANY'S BID OF $22.85/SF.
