Their work is holding up well for me. They were good, but they are expensive. They are very professional and certainly know what they are doing.

Curtis gave me a courtesy call, as he was nearing my place, and told me he's be there soon. Not sure if he got lost or if he just underestimated the time it would take to get there, but since my place is so new, it's not even on Google Maps yet, I didn't hold it against him. (If I did, I wouldn't have given him an A for punctuality.) When Curtis shows up, he introduces himself, is very friendly, and proceeds to take some measurements. He then tells me the cost would be $2100. That's not the most expensive quote I got, but it is near the top (hence the B for price). I know that $4 to $6 per square foot (some would say $4 - $8 per square foot) is the norm, but for a garage that isn't even 400 square foot, that's closer to the $6 mark than the $4 one. While considering the price, Curtis asked if I'd like to see the color chart. The chart he gave me had only gray and tan variants on it. I thought these were the only colors Magnesite had, and none of them appealed to me all that much. I found out later that the color chart on Magnesite's website is different and a lot more varied in color than the one Curtis gave me. (And I did find a color I liked on the website color chart.) Still, the color chart miscommunication was moot, because the price was too high for me. I have no doubt that Curtis and Magnesite do good work -- the photos on their website prove as much, but I had cheaper quotes with longer warranties, so I decided not to go with them.

The work was done on time, with a minimum of fuss. They were able to provide us with a slightly smoother coat than we had previously had and it looks great.

The estimator arrived on time. He was friendly and professional wherein an agreement was reached on the work to be completed. However, a misunderstanding arose regarding whether siding and new flashing was included in the cost that led to additional costs being incurred. A couple other issues arose wherein the deck coloring was uneven on a couple spots and an edge of the deck had been overlooked. The company sent someone over who resolved the problems quickly. Even though the above issues arose, would recommend the company again.

MY CONTRACTOR RECOMMENDED GOING WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY PUT 7 COATS ON THE DECK. AFTER 5 YEARS, THEY WILL COME BACK AND PUT SOME MORE COATS ON THE SURFACE. THAT'S PART OF THEIR EXTENDED GUARANTEE.
