Overall, it went well. I called him, and he sent somebody out and they took care of the problem. They were punctual and professional. I would recommend them. The price was very reasonable. I am recommending to my friend.

There was an amusing voicemail, and so I left my contact information and a short message about getting some work done. I didn't hear back for a couple days, so I tried again. Same amusing voicemail. So I left another short message. Didn't hear anything. So I thought that the voicemail system must be broken or something. I tried a third and final time but never heard back from Hudson Plumbing. I got 2 bids from other companies quite quickly (Anderson and Black Mtn, thx guys). Either the voicemail system was broken that summer, or they were too busy to respond to their customers.

Job & experience went very well. The work was well done and a definite upgrade on what other plumbers had done before them. They were very responsive, professional and stayed with it until job was done and educated me with many tips & suggestions. Answered every question & worked out problems with me. Rated them "Fair" on price because, even though their prices were average, it seemed like a tidy sum for 31/2 Hrs of work.

While he is certainly not cheap, you definitely get what you pay for.Not all plumbers are familiar with the problems of older homes. Having tried other plumbers who were clueless, unethical, rude and totally unprofessional, I was so relieved to finally find Larry Hudson. He arrives with an assistant (equally courteous) and a large truck contining more parts than the average hardware store. On each occasion I have used his services, he has immediately recognized the problem, given a firm and accurate estimate, and fixed the problem. Once when a minor pronlem still remained, he immediately returned and fixed it at no additional cost. Now when my tenants call with a problem, I can relax in the knowledge that the job is going to get done, and get done well. He is truly old-school. He is extremely knowledgeable, especially with older homes. He is prompt, efficient, courteous and completely professional. I will certainly continue to use his services.

He was great. He seemed to be an honest guy. He knows his business. He finished the work in an hour and twenty minutes.

They did a good job and I will continue to use them in future.

Larry and Dan are the best in the business. I've used them on a few jobs and every time they are prompt, give fair estimates, come in on or under budget and are super friendly and nice to work with. You should call them first for any plumbing needs.

If you want the best equipment, installed correctly with an eye for detail, then Hudson is for you. I had a full day experience with Dan at the condo I just bought. I got great advice, great equipment, great installation, all at a good (great just isn't possible!) price. I like it when the service person says "this is what I have." I will use them again, hopefully voluntarily rather than emergency... Thanks, Dan.

I called the office at 5:30 and got voice mail with his receptionist telling me how important my call was and to please leave a message. I did. Told her Larry failed to show up for an appointment, failed to call and failed to obtain me as a client. My time is as important as his, if I was unable to make it home I would have called him promptly.

Our water pressure was very low and our waterflow was sporatic. What to do in such an instance? Call Larry!!!!! He promptly came out and said we needed a new regulator and he did not have the one we needed on his truck. He came the next day, Saturday, to replace it and did not charge extra (like some plumbers) just because it was the weekend. I noticed after he left that the pressure was a little low, so he came back later to fix it at no charge. He has been in the business a very long time, knows his stuff, does it promptly and will always come back to fix anything that is amiss. I have used him several times and won't use anyone else!

We had used him before for other breakage. We were really pleased. He was punctual. He finished it up and made sure everything was up to code. This particular job seemed expensive. They are very professional.

I was very pleased with him. The only criticism was the clean up. The first time was done well, but the second left something to be desired.

Larry was great on the phone. He specifically told me that he is selfish. Once he gets a new customer he likes to keep them. After reading the rest of the reviews on Angie's list, I was hopeful that we had found our plumber. We set an appointment for the following week because the work was not urgent, however, he never showed or called.

It went fine except they encountered complications that make the job much more expensive than I anticipated.

We have used him several times. He is very personable and he seems to know what he is doing.

Larry helped me out of a bind. I was fighting with my Homeowner's association over a repair that was done by a handyman I had hired to put in a new bathtub. The HOA said that the overflow pipe was not up to code. I disputed this and the situation got ugly. But eventually, I decided to have it replaced. The HOA gave me a deadline by which it had to be repaired or else. Larry came out and fixed it in time to avoid further unpleasantness. It wasn't cheap, but I appreciated that he did it on time with little notice. Plus, he's a very friendly guy!

He's awesome in every way. I was pleased with the price of the work. Larry is very old school. He gets it done and keeps coming back until it's done. He doesn't try to patch it and charge you more each time, he just does the work. His knowledge stands out, he's been in business for a long time and there isn't anything you can stump him with. Ever since I found him he's the one I use.

Larry is very personable and punctual and arrived as scheduled. He quickly and easily fixed the leaking shower faucet. Without prior notice, he was able to fix the high pressure problem outside in the same visit; the original hope was that this would resolve nightly garage flooding (which we assumed was happening as high pressure overflow). This did not resolve the garage flooding; however, the water pressure was too high and did need repair, regardless of whether it addressed the garage flooding. Overall, a positive, if expenive, experience.

they showed up on time, were clean, careful and provided all the needed materials. the quote was well written and details and the final work was 5% less than the quote. all work was performed as stated and was to the highest standards. we highly recommend the company and would call them first for any of our plumbing needs.

I was happy to see that two people arrived. Many plumbing problems require two people to be done properly. They checked out the problem in each case. What I feared would be a major problem in the tiled shower area turned out to be a simple adjustment. I was grateful for their honesty and integrity. Since I was an Angie's List member and there was a 15% discount, they waived their fee entirely. Finding an honest, master plumber is PRICELESS!

They charged me $435.00 for a new toilet and installation. After doing more research I found out that the $385.00 toilet goes for $116.00. I feel like for what I spent on their work, I could have had a high end toilet installed by a different company. They didn't caulk the toilet correctly. They used white caulk on a brown floor. The toilet seat they put on the toilet was completely wrong and I had to go out and purchase a new toilet seat myself. Basically I paid a premium for a generic toilet installation that wasn't done properly. They did give me a $50 courtesy refund but it does not change the quality of the product which is a bottom of the line toilet.

Excellent----Made repairs, cleaned up in timely fashion. Would highly recommend this plumber and would certainly hire him again.

My main drain line plugged-up on a Saturday morning. I called a large company (Anderson Plumbing) and they sent a truck ($99.00 just to show up and another $390.00 for the job:$480 total!) The Anderson plumber couldn't get the drain clear, so he didn't charge me anything. I then called Larry Hudson the next day. Mr. Hudson answered the phone but couldn't come over on Sunday so I made an appointment for Monday. Mr. Hudson and his partner, Dan, came over Monday morning and had the drain cleared in less than an hour. They charged me $230.00, less than half the cost of Anderson Plumbing. Mr Hudson is a most experienced plumber and knows what he's doing and seems like a nice guy as well. I'll definitely recommend him and use him again in the future myself.

They arrived when they said they would, unclogged the drain from inside the house (didn't need to go up on the roof, which adds to the cost) and cleaned up after themselves. I don't remember names but both guys were friendly, competent pros.

The entire experience went better that I could have hoped for. My water heater stopped working on a Friday afternoon while I was on travel away from home and wouldn't be home for more than another week. My wife was without hot water and without any skill in correcting the problem. SDG&E tried to relight pilot light and told my wife the thermocouple needed replacement. I found Larry and another provider via the list. The other provider called back first and offered to replace the whole water heater with a unit he had that he was unable to install at another job. I agreed and made an appointment to have the work done. Larry called minutes later. Larry provided me extensive information on why the deal offered from the other vendor might not be such a good deal after all. He provided information about code compliance and other issues that I hadn't considered. He also advised me on information about tank-less water heating systems that was timely and very helpful in deciding how to proceed. Once done he was then gracious and told me what I did was up to me. I felt obligated to go with the other provider because I had already made the appointment, even though I had spoken with Larry at length and felt I should probably have gone with him. Larry took no offense at me going with the other provider and offered additional advice to make sure things went smoothly. It so happens that the other provider flaked on me within an hour. I called Larry back and he was happy to come out and do the job that day. The price was more than fair and the service was superb. This was a holiday, he knew I was away and knew how urgent I considered the situation (the quintessential definition of "over a barrel") but didn't take any advantage of that to raise his standard price. He was professional, timely and extremely helpful. I would hire this man again in a minute and consider him the as my first choice for any plumbing work I might need to have done in the future.
