It went really well. He did a good job, he was honest and had a very high quality work. He did it in a short time. I am very pleased with his work.

This was a tough job and I've had others balk at having to work in a crawl space, but Dan was wonderful. He managed to get the work done in one day--staying until 9:00 or so, to make sure that we had functioning bathrooms, before leaving. The shared sewer line backed up again later that night, but thanks to Dan's work, no new damage was done. He was back out first thing the next morning (Saturday), to check on his work and rod out the main line and camera inspect.

They came in and remediated the additional fitting and put the correct fitting so that there was no threat of a gas leak as SDG&E had tagged the fitting. Now I can use the dryer and it isn't dangerous.

I appreciate Angie's List helping find a reputable plumber to work on a rental property. The tenant complained of a leak under the sink. It took a bit of diagnosis, but Larry Hudson took the time to figure it out. Larry worked with us to find a convenient time to schedule the job and the tenant is happy--which means I am happy.

I was pleased that Mr. Hudson provided a face to face estimate and honored the first time Angie's list 15% discount. Other companies provided estimates over the phone only and had a wide range in pricing. Dan did the installation and arrived late, but he called to advice of the delay. He was efficient and professional. All work was done as described in the estimate.

A plumber named Dan Biggs arrived on time and in less than one hour had removed the old disposer and installed the new one. He left the area clean, even disposing of the box in which the new disposer came. Also, he looked professional and clean and acted as though he cared about doing a good job. I will absolutely use this company again!

Showed up a promised. Was very honest about potential cost to repair the issue depending on the seriousness of the problem. Ended up sawing off faucet part that was not easily removed because corrosion and suggesting parts to be ordered from the manufacturer. I was able to order the parts for free, replace the faucet cartridge and finish the job myself. The job ended up being a fraction of the cost I had anticipated.

They were supposed to come out friday and they never showed up. I called them and they said they would come out on monday between 9am and 10am... but still they did not show up. I called them around 12:30 and talked to Mr. Hudson himself and he assured me that someone would come out. Today no one has still showed up. They have serious customer service issues and they are not concerned about their customers time.

Dan gave us a straightforward evaluation of our house's aging cast iron drain lines, and the recommendations he made about what to replace fell closely in line with what we'd heard from our home inspector (who we trust a lot). Dan's estimate was significantly lower than the others we received for the same work, especially with the discount for Angie's List members, and he offered to knock another $100 off the price if we could let him fit the work in just a few days later when he had an opening in his schedule. Dan was about an hour late on the day of the work, and I wasn't able to reach anyone at the office number to confirm that the appointment was still on, but once he showed up all was fine. Larry joined Dan for part of the job, and they were both friendly and professional throughout. They were especially good with our pets, even when our cat ran off with an O-ring that they needed to reassemble the tub drain. :) The work was done on time with no surprises, and our drains are working much better since. We plan to hire Dan and Larry again in the future, and recommend them to other Angie's List members.

I noticed a small leak under the kitchen sink and determined it was from a hose connected to the kitchen faucet. I believe that plumbing issues should be dealt with by plumbers, and not handymen or do-it-yourselfers because I want the job done correctly the first time. I called Larry on Monday early afternoon and he asked if it could wait until the next day. Since it was a slow leak, I said yes, and put a large jar underneath the hose. We set a time of noon the next day and Larry called in the morning to see if he could come earlier! He called when he was on his way with an estimated time of arrival. He saw that the hose to the faucet was leaking, was 17 years old and was put in by a tract builder, and said he was surprised that it lasted this long. The existing hose handled a certain amount of pressure and he installed a better hose that could handle three times that. He also looked at my bathroom sink that has been emitting an odor and gave me some advice (my husband was ready to dismantle it, and I'm so glad I wouldn't let him do that!) that I can do myself (a routine of flushing with hot water and vinegar). Larry gave me a $40 discount for a final charge of $135. I was concerned about calling Larry because of the "F" reviews on Angie's List. I asked him why he had such reviews and he said he had recently had some serious health problems (heart issues). He is over 80 years old and has been in the business over 60 years. He is professional, courteous, competent and extremely knowledgeable. He is my go-to plumber now!

Called them on a Friday morning to fix a pilot light on our water heater. I made an appointment for 1-3pm that afternoon. No one showed up so I called around 3:30 and had to leave a message, no one answered. I finally got a call back at 4:30pm saying the tech was running behind. I can understand running late but the call should of been made to me without me calling them first and it should of been a lot sooner than 4:30. Strike one. The tech finally showed up around 5pm, spent about 5 minutes looking at the water heater and informed me that they would have to replace the whole burner assembly and they don't carry the part with them, so they would have to go get it but since it was past 5pm, they couldn't get it until Sat. If they had been on time we could of got the part that day. Strike two. The tech took down all the model info and said he would look up the part cost first thing Saturday and call me in the morning. Worst case he said, they could have a new water heater to me by 2pm. He never called on Saturday essentially leaving us without hot water for the weekend. Here it is on Monday and he still hasn't called. Strike three. I called another company, Fix Plumbing & Drain and they fixed it within a few hours. I do not recommend Larry Hudson and they will not get a call from me again.

We contacted Larry Hudson Plumbing and had a scheduled appt for 10/11/12 at 7AM. By 7:40AM no one had shown up and we received no call. We called them and were told that the truck had a breakdown. We rescheduled for the next day 10/12/12 between 7AM - 7:30AM. By 8:00AM no one had shown up and we received no call again. We called and left a message to cancel our request for service. About 10 minutes after we left our message we received a call and were told the truck had been involved in a fender-bender. We found it odd that the office could immediately contact the truck/serviceman but no one could call us to keep us informed in a timely manner. Thus, we rate them an "F" for responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism.

Called him on Monday. Left a message. He returned my call and asked if he could come out Tuesday. I agreed but he never came out and never called back.

I called Larry twice, and Larry himself did answer the phone. Each time he said he would be glad to help me and he was able to get out to the property the next day. He asked me to send him an email of the work that needed to be done and he would review when he "got back to the office." I sent him an email to the email he specified and never heard back from him. I called at the end of the day to confirm that he got the email, and he said he just got back to the office and had to check. He took down my info again and I never heard from him again. On the 4th call the next morning (the morning the work was to be completed) he didn't answer the phone or return my call. I never got an email back from Larry. He left me hanging and I needed the work to be completed quickly because the property is in escrow. I would rate his professionalism very low. If he was too busy he should have just told me so, instead of wasting a day of my time. Very disappointed.

It was a tough job, but Dan stuck with it and it all fit great.

Things went great. This was a job well done. He did what he said he was going to do. He was also happy to perform additional work that I wanted to have done at no additional charge (like adjusting the pressure and the temperature). I would recommend him to anyone.

You get a perfect rapport for the perfect job to be done. It's like the old way of doing things right by your customers and not the fast way. He does it right.

He gave us a discount the second time because we got such a big job done the first time they came. It was a satisfactory experience.

Called him early, 7:30 am and he answered ! Got my address and phone number, said he'd be by my house between 10 am to 12 pm. He showed at 1 pm and reviewed the water heater and said he'd call back between 5 pm to 7pm with cost estimate. 37 hours later, I'm still waiting for a call back ! Seems he doesn't want or need the work ? Needless to say , I would not recommend Larry.

Found Mr. Hudson on Angie's List and what a find! Left message late afternoon and Mr. Hudson returned my call early the next morning. I explained that my garbage disposal wasn't working and I needed to replace two shower heads.Our appointment was set for the following day between 11 am - 1pm.Mr. Hudson arrived promptly at 11 am. He was polite, courteous and professional. He diagnosed the disposal problem and recommended a new one, which he had in his truck. I asked him to watch so the kitty didn't get out the door as he was going in and out of the house. He made it a point to look for the cat and ensure that the screen door was securely closed behind him. I appreciated that.He finished the replacement disposal and went to start the shower heads when he realized we would need additional parts. He stated he had the parts and would return the next day at 11 am to complete the job.Mr. Hudson called at 10:30 the following day to confirm he was 30 minutes away. The shower head replacements took about 45 minutes.I received (without asking) the 15% discount for new clients. I couldn't be happier with Mr. Hudson's service. As he said, he's old school and he and his staff take pride in doing the job right.Wow! I'm in love!

He just does excellent work. His prices are comparable. You get A+ quality and a job done right. He is in his 80s and has 67 years of experience. He knows what he is doing and has a person helping at this point in his life. He is highly thought of in the community. Anybody who has used him, loves him. He can do absolutely any kind of plumbing. It is A+ work at an excellent price. I just love love love my plumber.

I probably should have read some simple at home fix-its prior to getting help.Since house is a rental, I need a "for sure" fixt.
