Arranging the work went very smoothly. The guy was on time, explained the various options, and I had signed the paperwork before he left. Installing the glass and the sliding screen door also went very well. The repair guy was on time and he worked very quickly and cleanly. What was more difficult was going from the estimate to the actual work. Initially, they said that it'd take about two weeks to get all the parts in before they could do the work. When I didn't hear back from them after two weeks, I called them to see what was going on. By now, the details are a bit fuzzy but the trend was that I always had to call them. They'd tell me that someone is going to call me to back either to explain the delay or to arrange the repair and no one would ever call. I always had to call them. When all was said and done, they did a very nice job at a very reasonable price but the project took more effort on my part than I expected.

We bought a house from bank and missing two shower enclosures. We had three companies to come to our house measure it and give us a quotation. First company name comes from the San Diego best list (another list is not from Aggies list). Second company I have used to replace my broken duel panel window?s glasses. I use them to change two times for my window duel panel glasses and they did a good job. Third is from Husband search in ternate and gives me the Kings glasses. At first, I don?t want it. I thought two company is enough for me to get one a good quotation from them. The First give me a quotation which is 30% high than my glass companies quotation. They does not give me the option to have a ?frameless glass shower head?. I talked to them and they said ?no?. The only option is ?Framed? glass shower enclosure. Second company gives me two options and one is ?half frameless? with support bars and one is framed enclosure like First Company except price is lower. I have to get another company regarding the frameless option. I choose one from my husband internet search list and name is ?King?s glasses and windows?. They ask me to go to their company to get a appointment like First company. But their estimator is come quick and on time. Their estimator Joe gives me a true ?frameless enclosure? solution. He said since my shower enclosure is small, they can do true ?frameless? without the support bar. I searched internet and find what he said is true. The First company?s shower hardware hinge website has published their ?new frameless hinge hardware? which allows glass width less than 26? to install frameless. I call Second company and e-mail this information to them. But Second company not response to my e-mail and call for two weeks. I looked the three quotations I got. First company just call me at phone give me a quotation and no hardware and detail to me. For over $3000, I ask them to send a formal e-mail for their quotation but they just send an e-mail and state the price with no size, hardware. Second company send me a e-mail with hand drawing and hardware list. The Kings glasses are best quotation. They e-mail me size, hardware, warranty term and contract. They proposed start date at contract. What I needed is sign and returns them. I choose Kings Glasses for true Frameless shower enclosure. I am little bit worried since I have not had any referral for them. I do not enroll Angie?s list at that time and no one did job from them. Two installing workers come on scheduled time. The most important is their worker put glass in place and ask we visualize before they final install the glasses. This is very helpful. One of our tile wall line is not straight, glass are straight. Make the tile error is very obvious and very eye catching. No one expect that. I ask them to move 3 inches deep in and make the tile error is not so obvious but customer-made glass is too big and could not cut to fit. The worker calls Kings Glass and states my concern and problem. Company was allowing them to stop this work and change another glasses with a reasonable amount fee increase. They have to take the first glass back and order another. They could charge me a big amount since it is not their reason to stop the work and I have to pay it. Joe came in second time to measure and chooses which location and angle is bests to hide the error of the non-straight tile line. Two works came second time to install the new glasses. Two enclosures are such beautiful and so does Kings Glasses job.

Description of Work: Scheduled Joe to come out and give me an estimate on retrofitting my oversized windows. He took measurements and told me he would contact me. I have called their offices twice and have not received a response. I consider this very unprofessional and would not recommend them to anyone.

This company took nearly 4 months to complete a job that should've taken only 2 weeks. I was told the parts for my order would arrive 5 to 7 days after placing my deposit. This company made 6 separate visits to my house over the course of the job. Each visit resulted in the contractor arriving to my job site with window parts that were not to spec, the wrong size, the wrong color, etc. It took 6 visits for them to get this right! And each time requiring me to schedule AROUND THEM to accommodate the work. On each of these scheduled visits, I was NOT even given a time window when the contractors would arrive until the morning of the scheduled visit. If you DO decide to hire these guys, ask for Ernie. He's the only one in this company that has a clue what's going on. Everyone else is pretty much clueless, especially the people in the office and billing dept. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they DID offer to rescreen my screens. Only after they ruined the risers inside the sill.
Description of Work: I contracted this company to replace dual pane windows in my kitchen garden window.

Response from KINGS GLASS & SCREEN
THE MEMBER'S PROJECT WAS COMPLETED PROFESSIONALLY WITH THE CORRECT, QUALITY PRODUCTS. WE STAYED IN COMMUNICATION WITH HIM, TRIED TO ACCOMMODATE HIS NEEDS WITH PARTS RECOMMENDED AND SUPPLIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE JOB WAS COMPLETED IN 13 WEEKS, NOT 4 MONTHS, AND PART OF THE DELAY WAS SCHEDULING CONSTRAINTS WITH THE MEMBER, PART OF THE DELAY WAS THE PARTS, AND PART OF THE DELAY WAS WITH OUR FORMER EMPLOYEE ON THE ORDER DESK (FOR THIS AND OTHER REASONS, THIS EMPLOYEE WAS RELIEVED OF HER DUTIES). HE WAS ALWAYS PROVIDED WITH A TIMEFRAME, AND WHEN IT DID NOT MEET HIS SCHEDULE, WE RESCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT TO MEET HIS NEEDS (WHICH RESULTED IN DELAYS AS WELL). EVEN THOUGH WE MADE NUMEROUS VISITS, WE DID NOT CHARGE THE MEMBER EXCEPT THE ORIGINAL QUOTED PRICE. WE DID NOT LEAVE THE JOB UNDONE. WE SENT EXPERIENCED GLAZIERS. WE ARE LICENSED & INSURED AND CARE ABOUT THE WORK WE DO. OTHER COMPANIES MAY HAVE JUST "SLAPPED" THE GLASS INTO THE HOLE, WITH NO REGARD FOR THE MEMBER OR HIS SAFETY, OR THE WORK QUALITY. WE HAVE APOLOGIZED FOR THE EXTENDED TIME REQUIRED TO CORRECTLY COMPLETE THIS PROJECT, BUT SOMETIMES THINGS DO NOT GO AS SMOOTHLY AS WE WOULD LIKE THEM TO. KINGS GLASS HAS BEEN PERFORMING QUALITY, COMPETENT WORK FOR OVER 45 YEARS FOR THOUSANDS OF HOMEOWNERS, PROPERTY MANAGERS AND RENTERS. OUR REPUTATION SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, AND IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE MEMBER DID NOT HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH US. I CANNOT RESPOND TO HIS NEW, RIDICULOUS ACCUSATION THAT WE RUINED HIS RISERS.
