Ipenema Watch & Jewlery Repair

I was never able to get through to them for service.

I have been going to this guy for the last 10 years. They are ALWAYS courteous and professional. I own high end watches and would not trust them to anyone else. On my last visit I had him resize a watch band for a friend. I had to go back a few days later because I had them take out too many links. They happily put back the link at no additional charge. Small shop with real personal service.

After taking the necklace to four other jewelry repair shops who would not even attempt the job as it was deemed too time consuming or difficult, I took the necklace to Ipenema. The proprietor recognized immediately that no one in San Diego would have the expertise to restring the necklace. He said that he would have to send it to Los Angeles and even then, he could not guarantee that they would agree to take the job. I left a deposit - he sent it to LA - and they did restring. It took several weeks and everytime I called for a status, the proprietor was able to give an accurate estimate of both final cost and time for completion. The neckace was repaired to beautiful condition - as good as new. Also, while I was in the shop, another customer came in because something that had been repaired in the past needed an adjustment. The customer wanted to pay since it had been so long since the repair but the proprietor insisted that there would be no charge. This reinforced that customer service comes first for this shop.

I took my "bag o' jewels" into the store a Thursday & was greeted by a gentleman who turned out to be the owner. He came right over to me & spread my goodies out. I explained in detail each item's needs while he looked them over. A woman came out (the other owner) & she took my watches back for new batteries. The gentleman then told me they would look at the necklaces. After a few min. he returned & explained that one the watches had a broken portion that rendered it useless. He said he could not in good conscious sell me a battery, as it would quit working very soon. The lady behind the counter wrote up the paper work for restringing the 2 necklaces & he examined the silver piece. After a few more min. he returned to tell me that this too, was not an 'EZ' fix. He took the time to explain the process of repair & noted it would cost more than the piece was worth to restore. I am completely impressed & will return for as long as they have their doors open. FABULOUS service, knowledge!

Excellent work. Great price. We arrived after closing hours and he still took care of us with a smile.

THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EXPERIENCED IN WHAT THEY DO. THEY ARE ALSO VERY CREDIBLE. I HAD AN OLD BRACELET THAT HAD A LOT OF SENTIMENTAL VALUE THAT WAS IN NEED OF REPAIR. HE ADVISED THAT ALTHOUGH HE COULD ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT, IT LIKELY WOULDN'T LAST. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO USE THEM IN THE FUTURE. THEY ALSO SELL JEWELRY, HOWEVER, I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM THEM.

TOOK SEVERAL PIECES OF JEWELRY IN TO CLEAN, I HAD ONE REPAIR AND HAD THEM DO AN APPRAISAL ON 2 RINGS. THE WORK WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER AND WITH GOOD WORKMANSHIP. I WAS PLEASED ON THE PIECE THAT WAS REPAIRED, YOU CANT EVEN TELL THAT IT HAD BEEN BROKEN.
