We worked with Brian Goetz ( brian@iffgdirect.com) and his loan processor, Heather Prida. Brian worked with us to figure out the best loan for us based on our situation -- points vs. no points, term length, type of lender. We were pretty sure we wanted a 10-yr. no-points loan, and speaking with Brian only confirmed what we thought we already knew. All loan applications were completed and signed electronically and we scanned all back-up documents. Brian went out of his way to make it clear to us that although he was employed by IFFG, he worked for us. He even missed out on some days of a family ski trip because his clients came first. We did have some issues with the closing doucments from prior loans not being recorded in order to remove the prior liens from our title, and a subordination agreement for a HELOC threatening to hold up the closing of our loan, but Brian and his team were in daily contact with us, took care of the issues, and we closed in less than 30 days. A mobile notary came to our house to sign the closing documents, and we funded a couple days later. I might add that very early in the process I did speak with one mortgage broker on Angie's list with a very high rating. He told us that there was ABSOLUTELY no way we could get the rate we had been quoted by IFFG. When we proved to him that not only could we get the rate, but we were locked in, he paused, then said he could do that! I hung up on him.
Description of Work: My husband and I completed a 10-yr. refinance with IFFG and it was, without a doubt, the best re-finance/mortgage loan experience we have had with anyone over the past 30 years. IFFG is a direct lender that can offer a better rate and sell the paper to a lender who is willing to accept the rate. We ended up with BofA. (We did know the loan was going to be sold to BofA before we closed. Unfortunately I have since learned that BofA has to be the worst bank for customer service that I have ever had the displeasure to work with.) IFFG offered the best rate compared to our own military federal savings bank, Lending Tree, Quicken Loans, and the big banks. In fact, our rate actually went down between the time of the lock and closing. At first I thought IFFG loan costs were a bit steep, but no more so than other lenders.
