 + -1 moreWow! It's hard to describe how pleased I am with Paul Smith. We have a beautiful old Grandfather clock which has been in my family for three generations and which has been misbehaving since our move to San Diego. Mr. Smith was able to put it back in action with some minimal attention, and to also re-animate a mantel clock which my wife has inherited. The fee was very reasonable, and the education he provided was probably worth just as much (to me). I do not hesitate to recommend him, this is the guy you want.

Description of Work: Paul cleaned and adjusted two clocks, oiled one, and installed one of them (tricky movement), and did a great job with all. He also retrofitted an old battery-operated one to run on modern batteries. Well done. He did something to another battery-run one, but that one was not so well-done, and I need to see him about that. But I highly recommend him.

Description of Work: He fixed my grandfather clock so that it would chime for a lot less than what another place was going to charge me. He also told me when the clock would be due for a major tune up and gave me a price for that. I would definitely use him again.He was a little hard to contact but I am so glad I kept trying!

Description of Work: My Seth Thomas mantel clock had stopped years ago. I was told that it only needed a good cleaning and I got my clock back. A few days later I noticed that at 2:30 the clock would jump ahead one hour. I returned the clock and was told that a tooth had broken off a gear. I got it back a week later and the clock is now in great condition.
