Description of Work: They did NOTHING. They were going to get back to me with a bid and I NEVER heard from them. |The dealing with them was fine during the visit. They seemed professional but terrible follow thru. |I'm guessing the date but you can't leave the field empty so I picked that one.

They started on time with a sufficient crew. They did a clean job with nice material. The primary contractor, Home Depot, worked well with the sub-contractor, JFK Construction. JFK Construction was responsible for all tile work and was our primary interface to Home Depot and Century Glass. Home Depot contractor was responsive to our requests and maintained contact with us past the close date of the contract to ensure our satisfaction with their part of the remodel. JFK Construction was responsible for demo'ing our shower, lowering the shower sill and placing all tile on floor and in the shower. We were well pleased with this contractor also. JFK Construction was our primary interface between Home Depot and Century Glass, the provider of the shower door. We have used Home Depot contractors before, on a complete kitchen remodel. We have been well served on both occasions and if any other house construction projects present, we will consider them before all others. We have used John F Kaminski, owner of JFK Construction on prior occasions and are well pleased with him also. We have recommended all three to others whom have inquired.
Description of Work: refinished cabinets, with new doors, drawers and counter top.

We needed window treatments for 42 windows in our home. We worked with Rhonda at the Mira Mesa Home Depot. She is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and took the time (many hours and many visits) to make sure we found what we wanted within our budget. After our blinds were installed, Rhonda responded immediately to make sure any deficiencies we noted were corrected to our satisfaction. We would recommend Home Depot and Rhonda to anyone looking for window treatments.
Description of Work: Sold and coordinated installation of window treatments. Rhonda at Home Depot also spent a great deal of time helping us choose the right product.

The job began in mid-September with the ordering of my custom cabinets. My kitchen designer was Patty. Nothing has gone right, and of this date almost three months later, my kitchen remodel is still NOT complete. My cabinets, which Home Depot were ordered through Thomasville, were done in about three weeks. It took another week for them to be delivered, and another week for New Life Construction, Home Depot's contractor, to come out and open the boxes and inspect the cabinets. The inspection revealed the wrong door design on the upper cabinets, damaged inside to an upper cabinet with dual doors, which also had a broken door, and another damaged door. I decided to keep the wrong upper cabinet doors but the damaged ones had to be replaced, which added another three weeks to the project. New Life Construction had previously informed me that they couldn't start the job until all cabinets arrived, so I waited. About a week before the replacement cabinet and doors were to arrive, New Life Construction called to let me know when they could install the cabinets, which was an additional two weeks because they assumed I needed the time because I was doing my own demolition of the old kitchen. I informed them that the demo was already 2/3 done and I didn't need that long to complete the demo, but they didn't have anything sooner. Then, the Thursday before the scheduled install date that following Monday, they called me to come out that day to install the cabinets. When I told them that the replacement cabinet and doors hadn't arrived yet, I was told that they could easily work around it. This is after being told that they couldn't start the job until all cabinets were on-site. So basically, my kitchen cabinets could have been installed in October when they initially arrived and not the end of November. I had to remove my dining table to have space to stack all the cabinets in the dining area, which was a huge inconvenience. Having them installed in October instead of the end of November would have made a big difference. When the replacement cabinet and doors were delivered, they had the original door design that I had picked, which didn't match the other upper cabinets. New Life Construction installed the mismatched doors and didn't even inform me of the problem prior to installing them. Moving on to the countertops purchased at Home Depot through Arizona Tiles, I brought my invoice into Arizona Tiles to pick out the slab I wanted. My invoice clearly showed I had purchased 2 cm thick granite countertops. However, the slabs they brought out were 3 cm thick. I didn't know this until I got a call from Patty informing me what had happened and that were was an additional cost. Patty also informed me that New Life or Thomasville wanted to come out and take pictures to verify what had happened, as if I was trying to get away with having additional doors or something. Being highly upset over all the mistakes that had happened, I went Patty at Home Depot to voice my frustration. She wasn't in so another kitchen designer took down the information. I tried following up with Patty via email, but no response. I called her to discuss the problem and to make sure New Life Construction would be out here before Christmas to finish up their part. All I got was an abrupt conversation telling me to deal with the contractors myself. So, to date, I don't know if the mismatched cabinets doors were ever reordered, and I'm dealing with all contractors myself from where Home Depot already got their money from me, so they could care less about all the problems I'm having. If I'm having all these issues from just a small remodel, I can't image what someone with a large kitchen is going through from dealing with them!
Description of Work: I had my tiny condo-sized kitchen (9'x8') remodeled through Home Depot and their contractors. The remodel included new custom cabinets, granite countertops, and sink. plus installation and hooking up all appliances and plumbing.

Requested free estimate for window replacements. Salesman arrived as scheduled and was very friendly and informative. However, the Home Depot estimate for window replacements was excessively higher than two other quotes. He was shocked at the other quotes and said the company could not beat them.

I did have a consultation with them, but they did not have the ability to do everything that I wanted. They were great, I've worked with them a lot over the years and have gotten a lot of materials from them over the years. They weren't able to do the extra wood trim and so forth that I wanted included so I had to go to someone else. They were very quick to respond, everything was great and they've always been terrific.

Based on a tip from a co-worker who had had a favorable experience with Home Depot, I called the Home Depot store in Mira Mesa on a weekday evening and arranged for the installation of a GE/Rheem brand water heater for $959, which included a 12-year warranty and removal of the old unit. The Home Depot sales rep took pains to explain the features and benefits of the water heater, including the fact that it is self-maintaining and never needed to be drained! The following morning, I called the national customer service phone number (877-467-9674) to place the order, and the customer service rep described the installation procedure to be performed by the local installer, Delta Mechanical. He said that if our existing water heater was over a certain size, there would be an additional $100 fee to remove it since it would require two workers instead of one. The installation went flawlessly, and they refunded the $100 fee after determining the actual size of our existing water heater. All things considered, we saved a minimum of $350 by selecting Home Depot compared to a quote from a San Diego plumbing company. We were very pleased with the professionalism of Home Depot's customer service reps.

We thought they did a good job. The screens were tight and the installer agreed. They made new screens and replaced all of them and now they are fine. We used home depot for carpet also and thought they did a good job.

Home Depot is a tricky place when it comes to contractors as they are only an intermediary agent most of the time. I'm not sure if that was the case here but overall the work done by the Home Depot Window installation "group" was acceptable. The salesman came out to do a demonstration and estimate. There was a bit of a hard sell but I guess that's to be expected since there are so many options for windows out there. Once we agreed and signed the contract, the windows were ready in about 2 weeks. The actual installation went fine. The workers did leave some debris that we vacuumed up afterwards. We like the windows for the most part except for the following: the windows are sealed using clear silicone caulk (or something similar) and it looks kind of messy up close. There are little window stoppers that allow you keep the windows open but prevent them from opening more than a few inches (a safety feature). Those stoppers break/chip very easily. Don't think they're too secure.
Description of Work: New dual pane vinyl windows were installed throughout the house.

These guys were really bad. They charged for the installation after the purchase and did a bad installation. They left a leak and they had to come around four times to get it done completely. I would not recommend them.

Dealing with Home Depot wasn't really that bad. The most confusing part was scheduling the work to start with the Project Coordinator. They would leave a message for you to call then when you called back they would never return the call again. We wound up going into the store and calling from their house phone to get the start date of the project and to confirm phone numbers of the coordinator's etc. Gave them a C for that. A company called Rand R Roofing had magnetic signs on their truck. They were timely and picked up after themselves. The project took about two days. HD's price is pretty high from what we were told but the warranties on work and material are good. That's why I marked C for price. You're paying for the warranty which we felt was worth the money on the roof.

Every step required a lot of waiting and different parties blamed each other for the problems. We made an appt. for the measuring, came back, chose the carpet, paid. They called to make an appt. for 4 wks later. They pulled out our carpet, installed the pad, and showed us the wrong carpet. After trying to work it out for 2 hrs, installers left without having carpet verified as wrong. Promised verifications were not made. Two weeks later, I got the same wrong carpet, and they offered a 50% discount off the wrong carpet. I gave up on color, had new sample sent slow, waited 1 hr. 20 min. for the new carpet to be ordered, gave up, and left. I received the 1st call from Home Depot the next day; all others I initiated. I called the next day and was told that the person I talked to previously was no longer working there, and problems were not their fault. I cancelled and received store credit.
Description of Work: Work was cancelled after waiting almost 3 months for the correct carpet, waiting around for at least 8 total hours, talking to at least 7 different people, and only having received one call from Home Depot to follow up with problems. Promises to call back or bring samples by were not honored.

The work was actually performed by Castle Garage Doors. The HD estimator was very helpful and clearly described the terms and conditions. They sent out a fellow from Castle to measure and he was on time and polite. Did a careful job and sent his boss over to check out an oddity of the opening. The worker who came out and did the install was polite if lacking english skills. The installation was problem free in any case.
