Mark and his crew are fantastic. We had a small job (by their standards) done...just a complete shower rebuild but they handled it very well. Mark had some great ideas that improved the project and every member of his crew was professional and pleasant to deal with. The final result was actually better than we had envisioned.

I interviewed several contractors before selecting Mark Halpert Construction. Unlike the other contractors that I had interviewed, Mark was very interested in hearing my ideas and was not trying to take over the project with his vision for my home. Despite the challenges of undertaking a home remodel while living there, Mark was very responsive to any concerns I had and fully explained what I was to expect as the project moved forward. With any project of this size, there will be hiccups but I always found Mark very responsive in a timely manner to any of my concerns. His crew was wonderful and I’d like to give a special appreciation to José for all his hard work. Mark has an wonderful eye for detail and it was evident that he takes a great deal of pride in his work. Mark and his crew were always very and respectful of my home and space by leaving it cleaned up after each days work. Even my neighbors commented that the workers were very polite when interacting with them and we’re diligent about cleaning up at the end of their workday. Not only would I hire Mark again but I would feel comfortable recommending him to any of my family or friends.

We held off on review for about four months because we do not believe you have a balanced picture of your experience immediately as the "newness factor" plays such a part. Last summer Halpert Construction remodeled our bathroom. We were immediately struck by the fact that Mark Halpert listened to us and did not try to take over the project like several of our other bidders seemed to want to. He also explained the whole process and after we hired him it worked just as he said. In fairness we agreed to purchase our own materials except for the basic construction materials (I must say he went above and beyond and purchased a number of things we expected to purchase.) He did help is with referrals to excellent sources. His bid was well within the parameters of the work he was providing and there were no hidden costs or cost overruns. His workers worked for him and were not day laborers and we were extremely pleased with all of them. The workers (and Mark) were excellent to work with and never got tired of explaining and answering our questions. They did their professional work perfectly but always consulted us when there was a design question. If we were having trouble they always gave us some perspectives. Even though we started early there were a couple of SNAFUs as to our part of the purchases--mostly because of the pandemic and the shortage of materials. They took it in stride and worked around these difficulties without complaint. They finished on time and cleaned up well. At the end of the job we did stick on a painting project and he gave us a good price and even pulled his main painter to take care of us that day. After four months we view this project as one of our best improvements on our house and are amazed every day when we use the shower and bathroom. We could wholeheartedly recommend Halpert Construction for any household project--large or small.

Mark is amazing. Super helpful with making decisions, never tries to upsell you on anything and is very reasonably priced. 10/10 would hire again! Him and his crew are awesome.

I have been very satisfied with the final outcome, the process and the total cost. I have been meaning to post this for while but finally got to it as I and others appreciate the work with each passing day. Mark, the owner, took the effort to stop by everyday to oversee the work done by his crew and make recommendations as necessary and most of the crew have been with him for several years. They even managed to build up the walk-in shower to exact dimensions such that the shower glass surround could be reused—apparently something that very few contractors manage to do, as per the shower door installation company!

Mark was easy to work with and easy to get in touch with. All his subs were friendly, competent people. He listened to my requests and added his ideas when appropriate. I'll use him again for any future projects. Thanks Mark!

Mark and his team at Halpert Construction have completed numerous whole house remodels for my company and I couldn't feel more fortunate that we starting working with him about a year ago. His craftsmanship is excellent, his prices are very competitive and most importantly, he is honest and very responsive. I plan to continue working with Mark for many more years.

Messaged this company through Angie’s List a week ago, no response. Then left a voice mail a few days after that, my call was never returned.

Everyone was very professional. They showed up on time, worked diligently and cleaned up after themselves. The project was fully discussed and the contractor was very amenable to our changes and questions. All the workers were polite, hard working and respectful. They got both jobs done on time and in budget. They had to remove and spray paint 33 shutters, and all the shutters look great and were reattached properly.

Mark Halpert was an absolute joy to work with. We contracted with him to remodel both of the bathrooms in our condo. From bid through completion, Mark was totally involved with his workers in completing the work. He was generally on-site at least once a day to check on progress, give guidance to his workers, and to answer any questions we might have had. Along the way, he listened to what we wanted and also made suggestions that improved the end product. As in any big job like this, we hit a few hiccups with material availability and minor changes. Mark took all of these in stride with a great degree of calmness and professionalism that enabled work to progress and maintain schedule. Most of the work was completed by Mark's workers - Braulio and Rafi. If you do contract with Mark, I would recommend you ask for these two gentlemen. They were friendly, punctual, and they always asked us for what we wanted or preferred with all of the tiny little details - such as exactly where we wanted the knobs placed on the vanity doors and drawers. In addition, they cleaned up every day - as much could be expected in a construction environment - which made our living with the on-gong work as comfortable as it could be. All in all, our experience with Halpert Construction could not have been better. I would heartily recommend Mark and his team to anyone looking to work on their homes. We would certainly hire him again if we have projects in the future.

We could not be happier with Mark and his team. My mom's bathroom was completed on schedule and to our specifications. Mark responded to texts and emails quickly and was on site daily to make sure that all the work was being done properly by his team. He advised us well when we needed his input, and we are thrilled with the new shower that is easily accessible and beautiful!

We were set to have our third child and needed our room addition to be done within a tight time-frame. Mark and his amazing crew did not disappoint. Everything was done exactly on time and exactly to our specifications. Our baby had a room to come home to-- and a beautiful room at that. The crew worked extra hard to ensure the room was perfect when she arrived home and it was. To say that things went perfectly wouldn't be accurate. Is there a word for better than perfect? Mark communicated with us daily, letting us know precisely what work was done and what was to be completed the following work day. The work was timely and professional-- we had very little on the punch list that needed to be corrected. His crew is top notch. They were so polite, professional, friendly. We considered them, and Mark, as a part of our own family. In this day in age, rapport and professionalism go a long way-- Mark has both in excess. He will is the best at his job and he cares-- he really, really cares. Hire him. Without hesitation. Seriously.

Mark has been a dream to work with. He gave me a fair price and didn't make any promises that he couldn't keep. He always showed up on time and cleaned up after himself. His subcontractors have all been great as well. We ended up with beautiful custom cherry cabinets with cherry plywood boxes for thousands less than the big box store wanted for MDF. From demo to having a beautiful and functional kitchen again in just 5 weeks. We were so pleased with his work we hired him again with additional contracts for painting, flooring, and a (beautiful!) custom shower.

It turned out beautiful! Better than I expected. Mark is very personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable! His crew was great too. They completely tore out the existing shower and built a new one and did beautiful work. They also installed a new vanity/sink, mirror and back splash and painted! Mark was there nearly every day to check on the work and guide his crew. He kept me updated on the daily progress via texts or phone calls. He even went out of his way searching for a hardware piece for my shower until he found the proper piece! I highly recommend Mark Halpert and his crew - they are truly the best in the business! It went very well. It took a couple more days then estimated but it was a minimal impact to me. Reasonable prices. Mark, Jose, and Juan were all very professional and did a great job with tile flooring and walk in shower. I had a minor touch up issue after the completion of the remodel. Mark was very responsive in getting one of his guys out there the next day.

Mark is both professional and knowledgeable about installing tile. He knew about the problems of removing wood flooring from a slab and the issues with installing a vapor barrier. His crew members worked hard. Work started promptly every day and continued until that day's tasks were complete. The work proceeded on schedule as documented in the quote. Everyone involved was pleasant and professional. The price was competitive, especially considering the potential difficulties with wood-removal/vapor-barrier installation, and the diagonal tile lay that tales a lot of cuts and must match the angles of the existing hall tiles at the bedroom door entrances. I would use Mark's services again.

Mark and his crew did a wonderful job on our outdoor project. His team and professional and very very nice. They worked had the entire time they were there. They graded some concrete that was poured unevenly and then installed approx. 900sqft of tile as well as decorative steps. I felt they took pride in their work and were not just cutting corners. Mark was there regularly checking on the work and ensuring that all questions were answered. He was priced fairly. He'll admit that he's not the cheapest and nowhere near the most expensive, but my husband and I felt his work was worth every penny and we definitely got our money's worth.

Great. Mark responded to me immediately Mark came to my house and gave me an estimate for the work. He went to get parts and returned promptly. He finished in about an hour. Looks great.

First and foremost, I apologize for the late review. Mark is a great communicator. As most of the work was done while I was at work and my dog was at daycare, I truly appreciated all of his communications via text. He would send me photos too to show me the progress. I did appreciate that. He was always available to me via phone call or text. That also put my mind at ease. Mark met with me to review the project and give me an estimate. I met with 2 other contractors and Mark seemed to have a good vibe, so I chose his company. He has also done other jobs in the area and I liked that too. Bathroom remodel- Completely gutted it. Very small bathroom, and partially remodeled before, so I wanted it to be a nice, complete upgrade. All new fixtures, vanity, small cabinet, medicine cabinet, bathtub- mostly purchased from Lowes. Mark picked up the bathtub that I purchased at Home Depot and brought it to my house for installation. ( When I was shopping for items and I had questions, I would text him with photos and he would respond to my texts so I could make timely decisions). Subway tile in the bath/ shower area, with a small window shelf on the back wall. Marble penny tile on the floor. Textured walls to match the rest of the house. Painted walls, rehinged door to open the opposite way, repainted door, baseboards. Kitchen lights- such a difference with LED lights in the kitchen. I can see. Kitchen door- he fixed the hinge so that the door closes snugly and even. Baseboards/Crown molding- These make such a difference in the appearance of my house. There are a few gaps in the connected pieces, but overall it looks nice. Minor paint spills on the floor, but nothing major. I love them. Ceiling crack repair/painted walls and ceilings- The ceilings look awesome. I had cracks that extended from one end to another in the living room and master bedroom, that was just an eyesore. They flushed it out and repainted both ceilings afterwards and it looks like new. Yippee. Drywall repair- I had a huge piece of a closet wall missing from an electrical upgrade done to my panel on the exterior wall of my closet. That was several years ago. So I asked Mark if they could repair it. He did, they repainted the inside of the closet too. It's like new. I can't express how happy I am with the process of this remodel and other projects when working with Mark Halpert construction. His team was nice, clean and prompt. Again, I chose them since the reviews were good and he was reasonably priced. I have had really bad experiences with other contractors, and Mark and his team were easy to work with. I would definitely hire them again for future projects.
