Installation was great. My only complaint was their contract language that mislead me into thinking that they would provide the painting/finishing work after the wall heater installations. The language was indeed confusing, and they agreed after the fact. To their great credit, the agreed to pay 1/2 of the cost of the finishing repairs due to the confusion. THAT is the sign of a great company. Thank you Guthrie & Sons.

They were clean, professional, and really great with communication. They obviously take pride in their work. I had another contractor doing a few odd jobs in my home a few years after the installation. He was just scoping out our place and mentioned what an amazing job the people did when they installed our AC/Heat. I couldn't agree more! I've recommended them to others anytime someone has asked about AC.

It went seamlessly. They arrived on time, they were polite and efficient, they were considerate. They explained the system, the thermostat, the remote, the emergency shut offs, the warranties. They helped us with the financing and made sure we were totally satisfied with the work and the products. It was a large purchase but one that desperately needed to be made and will improve the quality of our lives as long as we are in the home. I look forward to continuing to rely on Guthrie and Sons for all of our maintenance and heater and AC needs.

Added a new heating and air conditioning system to my home in conjunction with their solar purchase agreement. I am happy to say now that I have had over three months of usage on the new solar system and all their guarantees and promises have been lived up to and more! This a a old school family owned company that really knows their stuff! Every interaction my wife and i have had with this company has been a above industry standards. They truly know how to take care of their customers and you can tell everybody that works their takes great pride in their business. I am now saving over $150 a month on my bills, have a brand new heating and a/c system and it all costs me ZERO out of pocket!!! The big seller was that fact the the investment does not show on my credit report either! Due to financing option/partnerships they have the work being done gets classified as a Utility Upgrade to your home and therefore does not show on your personal credit! The system comes with 25 years of warranties, no pre-payment penalties, as well as maintenance and power production guarantees to safe guard me against any future worries of the system! To make this whole thing even better i was even able to install my new air conditioning system with absolutely ZERO out of pocket costs to me!!! They have this amazing financing option that allows you when purchasing a new solar/HVAC combo with them to apply 100% of the federal tax credit from the solar agreement towards the purchase of the new A/C system! Out of the 5 companies I spoke to before this investment this was the only company that gave me such amazing options. Bravo Guthrie and Sons! A job well done after many bids and much research.

fantastic; I love these people. It worked out so well. They have good systems in place to be quick in response and up front about their charges, procedures and services. Their people skills are the best, both office staff, and especially service staff. I appreciated getting a full picture understanding of the job, both in what problems existed, how they were fixed and what I can expect going forward.

The cost was pretty good by comparison. They were professional & they were not mis-leading.

The technician was very thorough and got the heater lit. He showed me what I needed to do to light it again in the future, and he tested for carbon monoxide and ensured if the pilot light went out again, the gas would shut off.

I recently used Guthrie and Sons after purchasing a $99.00 special on Angies List to perform a heating system inspection and tune up. I made the purchase after reading many of the reviews an Angies list about Guthrie and the fact they were highly rated by the Better Business Bureau. From my initial contact with Guthrie, the entire experience was exceptional. They contacted me shortly after making the purchase to set up an appointment date. I was contacted several times to let me know who the technician was that would be making the service call and what time to expect him. On the appointment date the Technician called me to let me know when he would arrive and showed up on time. The Technician put on protective foot wear to avoid soiling the floors. He was extremely professional and based on his work I observed, was very competent. He spent what I consider more than stuffiest time inspecting all facets of my heating system and made several minor airflow adjustments and patched a minor airflow leak he noticed in one tube leading to one of the rooms. While I have a 30-year-old heating system he told me it was working fine, no evidence of any carbon monoxide or gas leaks and it was venting properly. He did inform me that systems should be replaced after 20 years and the reasons why, but there was no high-pressure tactics used trying to push me to replace my system. Every other unnamed company I used over the past 10+ years, and there were several to perform similar inspections, always used high pressure tactics to try to convince me to buy a new heating system, which is still working. The people they sent were Sales Reps claiming to be Technicians. Guthrie sent a Technician to perform the work which was exactly what I wanted. I will consider using Guthrie for future work on my heating system and will definitely give them the opportunity to provide a quote to replace my system if it’s ever required. You can buy similar advertised tune-up specials for less money on Angies list or elsewhere, which I purchased in the past. However, none of them were as competent or as thorough as Guthrie. This experience reinforced my feeling that the cheapest isn’t always the best. Well done Guthrie!

We got estimates from 3 companies (all with "A" ratings on Angie's list) for installing a new basic gas furnace, discarding old one, new thermostat, required testing and permits included. Guthrie &Sons had both the lowest price [$3,312.00] and best overall value (taking into acct all the details, such as equipment/brand quality, warranties, testing title 24 arrangements, etc). We also ruled out another company because they install only York brand furnaces, which have much worse reliability than all other major brands (Consumer reports). Joe came out to do the estimate - he was very efficient, nice, professional, and thorough ( made sure measurements accurate & went up in attic to make sure all ducts looked good, etc) . he listened to what we wanted and understood our reasoning (nothing fancy - did not push us to consider more expensive types). Sent us the written proposal/contract right away. we were able to schedule a convenient time within a week for the installation. Phillip came out to do the installation. He was outstanding. He called and showed up right on time. The wrong equip was delivered but he was able to get this corrected and used the time efficiently so he was still able to complete the job at expected time. He was very nice and patient in explaining everything to us. Guthrie &Sons helped us out greatly by scheduling the required testing the same day (has to be done by an independent company). Furthermore, Phillip went way beyond what he was required to do and waited over an hour after he was suppose to be off for the testing company to arrive - then he stayed even longer and assisted with the testing (helped carry equipment, etc) to make it as efficient as possible until everything was completed. Dan from the testing company was also great and took extra time to explain everything to us about the process, codes, etc. Everything passed and we now have a working furnace with great easy to use wifi programmable thermostat. The removal of old furnace and cleanup was also great - garage looks much better now than before they started! We are very pleased and very highly recommend Guthrie & Sons!

The person who came out was incredibly professional and helpful. I would highly recommend this company. The only thing that wasn't ideal was that when I called they were booked up and had to set the appointment for the next week. But they were super professional on the phone also. Called and emailed me to remind me of the appointment.

The crew called 30 minutes out to confirm their arrival time and arrive almost to the minute. Their outstanding service was greatly appreciated. Phil answered all of our questions and even went into extra details that we did not consider. The value we received and will receive is more than the cost. Cleanup was done throughout the day and after the crew left, the areas were cleaner than when they arrive. We will definitely contact them again when we need their services. This is the outstanding level of service I have always received from contractors connected via Angie's List.

I can't say enough good things about this company. I rarely write reviews and there are so few service providers that exceed expectations, but let me give Guthrie and sons a huge shout out. So I just bought a new house and I'm trying to sell my old house. I had a thermostat issue on the old house about a year ago. Wayne came out and fixed it. The same one had another issue. Wayne was on time, professional and polite. He fixed it again. I'm not sure it was the same problem, but he said not to worry. It's free. Huh? Yeah FREE. This company stands behind their work. So, the new house has a HVAC unit from the 90s, during inspection on the house there was concern it wasn't working well, so I was planning on replacing. Guthrie and sons show up to estimate for the job, but decide it was a just a dirty filter. Guess what.... FREE again. They told me to go and but the 5$ filter and keep the unit, it was working fine. That's integrity. So, I am a customer for life.

It went very well. This is the second time I've used the company. The previous time was for annual maintenance, and I was quite happy with that, so Guthrie & Sons were my first choice for a repair when my 15-year-old A/C stopped cooling over the Labor Day weekend. I left a message and was called back promptly after the weekend and scheduled for service two days later. Zach called first to give me his arrival time, got right to work when he got here, and soon diagnosed the problem. He showed me the part that had failed and told me the cost to replace and got my OK before proceeding. The A/C was soon working. Zach was also good about answering my questions about whether it was time to consider a possible replacement. At all points, I felt he was professional and honest. It's hard to give a rating on price, since I don't know what the price would have been from other companies, but I was happy with the service, so rated it as A.

Guthrie & Sons were great! My A/C went out on Friday night, left a message on Saturday, someone called me at 7:30 Monday morning and Zach arrived at 8:30. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He determined that I was low on coolant and there probably was a leak. Since my unit was 21 years old he recommended that I fill the coolant and see how long that would last. To fix the leak it would cost ~$2500 vs. $5000 to replace the whole unit. If the coolant doesn't last, it's probably not worth fixing the leak due to the age of my unit and the technology of the new ones. I really appreciated his honesty and recommendation instead of just trying to sell me a new unit now! I would call Guthrie & Sons when I have another issue again and also recommend them to my friends!!! Thank you, again, Zach!

They were on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, and made great recommendations. The service was done quickly as well and they did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves, too!
