Description of Work: They came to do a complete inspection, but were unable because it happened to be a cold day and the outside temperature was less than the minimum. However, they did repair a clogged drain, replace my filters and completed a partial inspection. I would have preferred they called ahead and gave me an option to reschedule when the weather was warmer.

Description of Work: There was a bit of tension when the furnace stopped working and I was told they were unable to return for 48 hours. (I called them at 4:45 the next day. My 93 year old father's caregiver told me it had not worked all day.) However, when the caregiver called the next day to explain the situation they were able to rearrange their schedule and did come out to set things right.

Description of Work: They come up each year and do annual maintenance on the furnace in my house. They're terrific! They show up on time and are professional. They do great work and have competitive prices. The people in the office will make sure that the customer knows what's going on and will follow up with a phone call to let you know the appointment is in two days. If you request, they will also give you a call when they are about 30 minutes away.

Description of Work: I have used Guthrie's before and this experience was as great as the first. He fixed my refrigerator's ice dispenser and guaranteed the work for one year. The ice dispenses perfectly whereas it wasn't working at all. This company and it's employees are ALL A++!

They were really good.
Description of Work: I had purchased a big deal for Guthrie & Sons Heating & Air. They did maintenance for our AC. I think the deal was for adding gas if it was needed, and they checked the pressure, and it was okay. They cleaned the system, and did a complete check, and they gave us a damage record. They cleaned the vents as well, and the external unit.

Description of Work: Excessive Charge for sevice Charged $369 for a simple manual style thermostat (can be purchased at Home Depot for $30) Spent only approximately 10 minutes in the installation of the thermostat When questioned about the excessive charge - stated that they had high overhead and would not refund any monies Wrote several letter to the owners After payment - called several other HVAC contractors who said they would have charged $195 or less

Here at Guthrie and Sons customer service is our number 1 goal as you can see by our many favorable reviews across the web. We appreciate this member’s feedback and aim at nothing short of 100% customer satisfaction with every aspect of our business. We 100% stand behind our service and pricing structure here at Guthrie and Sons as it is comparable to only the best. It is also important to note this customer had agreed to the thermostat and pricing before the work was done or we never would have done it. However, we also do offer a 30 day full money back guarantee to any of our customers who feels they so deserve it. We would have been more than happy to refund the entire cost to this homeowner if she would have warranted this complaint in that time frame. With this being said, it’s important to point out a few key factors here. We never have received a single letter or phone call from this customer since the service as she states in her review. Since then we have tried to contact her several times attempting to resolve this issue but have had no luck in getting a hold of her or receiving a phone call back.
