Originally contacted this company in November, scheduled an appt for Dec. A few days before had to cancel and rescheduled at that time for Dec 28. Morning of Dec 28 company cancelled appt due to worker unavailability. Rescheduled for Jan 6. Job performed well with full report of findings and helpful recommendations. Cleaned up well after themselves and moved furniture back into position. They knocked $50 off price due to to last minute cancel. Appreciated that gesture. Would use them again because of thorough job done.

Wayne took pictures to show the work that was performed in a difficult-to-access crawl space beneath my house. The work was done well, promptly and exceeded my expectations. Not only did Wayne fix a disconnected duct and replace the torn insulation, he strapped the repaired section to an overhead beam to provide support and prevent this from happening again. He was great to work with because he went above and beyond what was strictly needed. This is the kind of trustworthy and excellent service I would expect to pay a premium for, and it was less expensive than I had estimated it would be. II would call this company again for any similar work and highly recommend them.

This company is so professional and does such a good job, we had them back to fix the air conditioner again. They come on time! That is so important! They show you what the problem is and fix it without having to come back.

I love these guys (and I am NOT easy to please). They are competent, reliable, honest, prompt and reasonable for what you get. I have used them for years. The airconditioning in our own home recently stopped working and they came out and discovered it was the coil on a unit they had sold us a couple of years prior, still under warranty. They ordered a new one, replaced it, all free of charge and had to have lost money on that deal. Today, Wayne came out to perform an annual checkup on the airconditioning system on a rental that we have. We pay $198 a year in advance for them to come twice a year--once to check on the AC and another to check on the heating unit. The office called me the night before to confirm the appointment. Wayne called me 30 minutes prior to arrival to let me know he was on his way. He was so pleasant, I would like to adopt him. He put booties over his shoes, came in the house and went to work immediately. When he checked the compressor outside he removed the booties, then put them back on when entering the house. He checked all the items on the list that he leaves for you to see, and said all was in great condition. I signed up for another year, and signed all the paperwork while he was in his truck in one minute. He ran my card quickly and I was on my way. Another fabulous job by Guthrie and Sons!

They did it at a reasonable price, great job, family business, and nice people to deal with.

We received the bid. It was spelled out with a final price. There was no line item pricing. Emailed bid did explain that the fields in the form were not visible from mobile devices (phones, tablets) which is a downside to many of us using these in the field. Not an issue but not as convenient to conduct business. The bid was comparable to the other bid but off by a couple of thousand dollars. I'd definitely recommend this company be considered for future projects and referrals.

If you need heating and air conditioning work done, this is the company you should choose! They are very professional, hard working and ethical. I shopped several companies before selecting Guthrie and Sons. They were by far the most experienced, responsive and knowledgeable. Their excellent reputation has definitively been earned. Guthrie and Sons was not the cheapest but their bid was still very competitive. They did an excellent job of cleaning up as well as taking care not to damage anything. After bringing in the equipment through our outside gate, it was slightly scratched but the company was willing to paint it. I am so pleased with the work, I intend to use Guthrie and Sons for the yearly maintenance. The equipment used- Rheem seems to be working extremely well. I also appreciated Max, one of the owners, following up to insure I was happy with the work performed.

With an 18 year old gas heater that died over our last cold spell (it actually dropped into the 60's!!), I expected to be pushed into getting a new heater, and spending $1000's. Within about 10 minutes of arrival, Zach diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor and after another 10 minutes and $260, he was finished and on his way. Quick, easy & painless!

This guys are a class Act. They were prompt, professional and, although not the least expensive, they provided better quality of service and merchandise. The installers were meticulous with their work and ensured it was done correctly.

They are a Christian based company and they're wonderful. They're reasonably priced. I like their honesty and integrity. I also like that they're very involved in their church; it's a family run business.

I appreciate speaking with a family owned business. They answered my questions very simply and advised that the unit needs to be replaced and not fixed. I trust family owned businesses. They were not after the money.

The staff was on time. They lay down protection for the floors and clean up really well. Two guys came out to install. It took about two hours to finish.

I have used Guthrie for several years now, after finding them on Angie's List. You would be foolish to not hire them. I went through over ten heating and air conditioning companies before finding Guthrie. They are family owned and the nicest, most fair people on the planet. In my other reviews I explained how we purchased new heating and air conditioning units from Guthrie (and the reasons why), and how they were able to solve issues that no other company was able to solve. Now I use them for annual maintenance. Zack and Matt came out to do maintenance on two homes. One is a little complicated, because we have two units, a hepa filter and UV lighting. But they did it efficiently and with big smiles. Zach even put extra carpet up in the crawl space for me (yay! It's out of the garage!) I highly recommend them.

We had 3 contractors bid the work which at first involved just one unit in the front room of the house. The entertainment room at the back of the house already had an old Friedrich wall unit. We found Mike, with Guthrie & Sons, to be honest and forthright about the ability of the new unit being able to cool the entire house and his quote was close to the lowest bid. One contractor with the highest bid told us he had lots of success with just one unit cooling a house our size which we find now was not correct. The old Friedrich bit the dust during this time and was not repairable so we asked Mike with Guthrie & Sons to come back and rebid for 2 units instead of one with a dual zone outside unit. The work was scheduled for 2 days and the crew arrived on time and were very professional, competent and courteous. Wayne & Andrew took pains to put on booties and lay down tarps inside the house. The installation and cleanup were perfect. Both units work really well in cooling their respective rooms and with both on the entire house with the exception of the front bedroom stays cool. Everything Mike told us about the units regarding looks, cooling and noise level were exactly right. Paying by check produced a 2% discount and then we received Angie's booklet in the mail after the work was completed. Inside was a $300 off coupon from Guthrie & Sons which they honored. As you can tell this is a first class company. I would certainly recommend Guthrie & Sons to others and would definitely use their services again.

After getting the review from Angies List I called for an appt. An appt was scheduled for a few days out then they called back after a few hours with a same day offer after a cancellation from another job. I appreciated them taking that effort to move up my appt. Wayne showed up on time and was professional in appearance and demeanor. He diagnosed the problem causing the dysfunctional AC (it was a transformer that died) and replaced with a new one from his parts on his truck. He spent over an hour in a very hot attic working to fix the system and maintained a very professional attitude will doing his work. I would call this company for any further work, I was very pleased with the work done.

Bought an Angie's list deal for A/C tune up. They were very professional and knowledgeable. It was nice of them to patiently answer my questions and teach me a few things about my HVAC unit. The outside unit was thoroughly checked and cleaned and each step performed was explained to me. They also inspected the control unit inside the garage and changed out my filter. The service was great! Only thing is I felt the price was a bit high for just inspecting the unit (mine didn't need a refill of the refrigerant).

The tune-up went well and they gave me an honest assessment of how the unit is functioning. They checked the refrigerant and the unit has held up fine since then. It seems like a good price for the amount of work they did, which was about an hour and a half. I followed him around as he worked and he was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions. Very professional and informative.

The previous owner of my house had rented it out for a few years and the general state of most of the home systems had seriously deteriorated (and was done on the cheap). Ben Guthrie helped me bring some much needed fixes to the duct system and replaced some sub-par components that were incorrectly installed in the heating and A/C system. I had priced this work out and Guthrie was the best deal and seemed most experienced. The installer arrived well within the indicated window and was professional. They worked efficiently and cleanly. They even repaired a few wiring issues as part of the job that I had not identified earlier since they were already in the furnace (without adding to the cost). I was very happy with the work.

Thorough inspection, cleaning anbd evaluatiuon of both heating and A/C. Re-charged cooling system and re-evaluated cooling system operation again. . Provided advice on more effective way to set up ducts in the house as well as cleaning A/C components.. A bit difficult to schedule as it was the time iof the year that folks want A/C serviced !

Zach was very professional, courteous, and clean....He completed the job and the dryer now has much better flow... thank You...
