The representative from Gold Coast Flood Restorations arrived at the appointed time, proceeded to measure the moisture content beneath the hardwood floors and taped off the effected area. At first he spoke of fans and dehumidifiers then he graduated to ripping out huge chunks of wall, replacing the floors, and calling out a HAZMAT team. I understand the need to remove base boards and maybe a portion of the wall to allow things to dry out, but the walls only showed moisture on the bottom couple of inches so why would it be necessary to replace large areas of the wall? The flood had only occurred 12 hours before so it was unlikely that mold would be present yet. We wanted to do everything we could to try to dry things out first and then look into replacing floors and treating mold if it was still necessary. When we told him that we were not intending to report this to our insurance co, wanted to approach things one step at a time, and keep costs to a minimum, he lost interest in us. After repeated requests he finally quoted us a price to bring up fans and dehumidifiers that was several hundred dollars above what we could rent them for a mile away. He had not come prepared to begin drying things out right away and could not get get things started until the next day. In the end he left without even giving us a written quote even though we asked for one. I am giving them such a low rating because it was apparent that he was inflating the amount of work to be done and they were only interested in and flood restoration if they could ensure that this job would pay many, many thousand dollars.

We were very pleased with the process and the service. Everyone we dealt with at Gold Coast was very professional and straightforward. They made what could have been a very stressful situation quite tolerable. They recommended an excellent drywall repair man (Keith of KC Drywall). Our house was completely back to normal within 7 days of the leak. We would definitely hire them again.

Gold Coast evaluated the extent of moisture in our kitchen area that had experienced a burst supply line. They took moisture readings, explained their findings and the process of "drying out". We were set up quickly with what was needed. Within a few days they returned to re-evaluate and explain the next steps of restoring our kitchen to usability. Patient and competent in answering questions, Field Mike helped create a calm where there may have been a storm of anxiety. The entire crew at Gold Coast Flood are the best in the business in San Diego. They saved our house, our health, and our bank account. In September of 2014 our HVAC unit flooded water under our flooring and in to some walls. The issue had apparently been happening for some time before we noticed it. We immediately called our insurance and they asked if we had a water mitigation and mold remediation company we preferred. We said no - BIG MISTAKE. They referred us to Code Blue. Code Blue is a call center in Ohio that serves as a middle man to keep costs down for insurance companies and they pawn off the work to local vendors (many of whom are not qualified). The local guys they sent were a joke and attempted to dry everything in place without containment even though there was visible mold on some of the framing around the HVAC closet. After 3 weeks of drying things they said they were done and pulled their equipment even though I kept asking about the mold. They just said don't worry about it. Seriously! My wife and I have a 2 year old whose bedroom is about 10 feet from that closet. The whole thing didn't set right with me so I starting asking other home owners who had gone through similar flood/mold issues and was referred to Gold Coast by the operations manager of the company I work for as he had used them several times on commercial properties and spoke very highly of them. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! From the owner all the way down, these guys were top notch. They immediately acknowledged the first company had screwed up and we had a mold issue. They brought in a testing lab for air quality samples and between the 2 reports helped me make a case with insurance that the Code Blue vendor had made several mistakes by not containing the mold and spreading it because they didn't set up containment. This created a cross contamination issue that affected the entire house leading to a much larger problem. Insurance passed the buck to Code Blue and Gold Coast worked with me the whole time to make sure the parties responsible paid up. Once we fought that battle together, these guys went to work and were total pros. They set up containment, cut back drywall, scrubbed and cleaned, took all of our possessions out of the home and arranged for cleaning and storage of the items, wiped down the entire house, pulled carpet, etc. It was a huge job and they got it done in 2 weeks - less time than the first crew took to screw it all up. On the back end, Code Blue and their vendor tried to back out of paying for the bill they had agreed to initially. Once again though, Gold Coast was in our corner and fought with us for several weeks until Code Blue finally surrendered and paid up. I cannot imagine what would have done without Gold Coast. Our home is back together and better than ever with clean air samples to prove it. Our health, and particularly that of my daughter, is no longer in jeopardy. And lastly, we are not tens of thousands of dollars in debt because Gold Coast worked with us to make sure the right parties were held accountable. Gold Coast was a lone bright spot in an otherwise dreary situation. Should we ever have a flood or mold issue again, my first call will be to Gold Coast and my second call to my insurance company.

I am highly pleased with the service I received from Gold Coast Restoration. The teams were friendly, neat and professional and left my place in great condition. I had such a good experience with them in December that when my condo got ANOTHER leak in January, I called them immediately and they did another excellent job.

Gold Coast was very professional from the first moment. The crew explained what needed to be done and then proceeded to do it. They explained the main steps and kept us updated on what they were doing and why they were doing it. They were very respectful of our home and us while they did their work. Working through a disaster can be very traumatic, the crew at Gold Coast made it less traumatic. I strongly recommend them for any water damage work or mold remediation.

They were punctual, professional anf thorough. The price for the mold abatement was reasonable, but their recommendation for someone to repair the ceiling and wall was way too high, so I used someone else for that part.

Gold Coast was prompt, responsive, and professional in estimating, scheduling, and then proforming the work. Finding out that you have a mold issue is never fun, but Gold Coast made the repair and restoration about as painless as I could have hoped it to be.

We are very glad that we utilized their guidance to direct this project! What amazed us, is that everyone they recommended - were equally 100% reliable and reasonable. There was absolutely no "bait and switch", no confusion. Even the owner, Joe, spent hours with us all day and late into the evening (even outside in the rain in sunny San Diego) to make sure we were taken care of and clearly understood the problem and alternatives.

Flood masters is great! They're responsive, professional, clean, and very good at what they do. We had water damage in our walls and floor, and they were very careful to remove all of the wet material in the best way possible so that it could be more easily repaired. Pat and his crew were excellent. He was reassuring and helpful on the phone and his crew arrived promptly and took care of everything. He even came back early the next morning, a Sunday, to check one of the circuit breakers that I had blown. Joe and crew came back a few days later and removed all the equipment and helped other contractors remove parts of the hardwood floor that were still wet. Mike in the office was equally a pleasure to work with in sorting out paperwork and providing advice. This was my first (and hopefully last) flood event.

The process of getting the quote was fine, but their estimate was much higher than another I received. They might have been trying to overdo it and therefore I didn't find them to be honest.

The entire process for our repair, from diagnosing the standing water problem under the house, to the last patch of wall drying inside the bathroom, took about 2 months, from about mid-May to early July. Gold Coast was amazingly professional, informative, timely, and easy to work with in a terrible situation. From initial contact with Mike, to Kurt taking the lead on getting under the house for all of the cleaning, to Joe stepping in when needed-- we had a great experience. I'll never forget my mom talking to Kurt, with all of his gear on to go under the house to diagnose the problem, and Kurt having a smile on his face & telling her he just plain enjoys this work and being able to help people. I also extremely appreciated that Kurt was willing to explain the science of what was happening and to answer our questions about safety at length. It turns out that the pipes in our 1924 house were probably still the original and had rotted/worn through the bottom. Kurt was extremely patient and willing to make sure we had a completely dry and safe area underneath the house. Mike and Joe were always responsive whenever we had a question about the process or wanted to check in. We had a few issues with some of the companies we were referred to for other parts of the repair process, and we felt that Gold Coast really took steps to deal with the situation and make sure we were taken care of. We felt we were in the best possible hands through the entire process with Gold Coast and we'd recommend them as first-class service to anyone.

Immediate response to my request for service, scheduled visit quickly, and followed up a week later to be sure all was well. Very polite and friendly, yet professional.
