James and his crew did a fantastic job designing and installing my backyard 2 years ago. I knew when it was time to do my front yard this year, I wanted James to do that as well. He listened to my ideas (make my yard look like Ohio in the Fall), good drainage, drought tolerant plants, attract hummingbirds, while sticking with my color selection, installing a split rail fence, I love my yard! I have had neighbors I don't know, from a block away, stop when driving by and I'm in my yard, and tell me how great it looks and they enjoyed watching the progress. His crew showed up when they said they would and each day of work, they cleaned up so the driveway was spotless. If I had another yard, I'd hire Earthwise Industries in a second! Even though the work is completed, as I've had questions come up about plant care, I reach out to James and he is quick to respond with instructions on what to do. I'm thrilled that a friend suggested I hire James a couple years ago, and I'm happy to always share my positive experience and results with others in hope that they do the same.

James and his crew did a fantastic job on our front yard landscape project. We had 1000+ sqft that had been terrorized by gophers, dead grass, and had no irrigation to speak of. He came in, listened to our needs and came up with a great layout full of native, drought-tolerant plants, hardscape, and fruit trees. He and his crew were always on time, finished the project quickly, and cleaned up as they worked. James was attentive and always eager to answer any questions or share his expertise on the plants, etc. We were blown away by the results and already have received several compliments from neighbors that we have the best front yard on the block. Working with James was a pleasure from the beginning. He listened to my ideas, showed up when he said he would, finished faster than he said he would, and did a fantastic job. I have written very few reviews in many years of hiring contractors, but I was motivated this time because he was exceptional in most every way. It has now been a month since the job was completed and we are still thrilled with work. He did both the front and back yards including dirt, sprinklers, plants and lawn. All of his workers were also pleasant and responsive. I highly recommend him and his company to anyone.

The team is exceptional! James is communicative and thorough. He's knowledgable about so much - demolition, hardscaping, lawns, trees, plant species, drainage. He cares about growing food, capturing rainwater, and planting pollinator-friendly plants. It's great to work with someone that's passionate about what's important in landscaping! We love our xeriscaped front/side yards...so beautiful! And, so perfect for the times (California's drought). James and his team were expert at their craft. After a year of having what is supposed to be a somewhat maintenance-free landscape. I have been needing to fight grass and weeds more than ever. I thought the DG would have been set and the accelerator harden the DG and the Rock would have meshed under to control weeds. After a recommendation from James not to place the mesh under DG and Rock proved to be a huge mistake. At this point we are so frustrated we are thinking of redoing or adding to the DG . My front yard has DG which was completed by another company. Has been maintenance-free. And I have no issues. I contacted James and we spoke about my displeasure with the amount of upkeep I still have to do. He mentioned he will try to come to take a look. But never came out. Nice guy but would not recommend

Very Knowledgable about every aspect of landscaping, lighting, design, organic gardening, best use of land, irrigation improvement and running cost reduction. Smart plant selection and variety, and offered a myriad of great suggestions for practical but pleasing design. No waste and use of exising plants and lanscaping were effectively and beautifully repurposed where possible. James and his team work hard and diligently, the end results achieving great value for money. Excellent variety of crew members with different talents, all of whom work well individuallly and as part of the team. James is honorable, totally trustworthy and extremely personable, who will only settle for the best quality of work. We have loved what he and his team have achieved.

It was an absolute pleasure working with James and his hard-working, profession crew last year. They remained flexible with our project/design as it morphed during our extensive yard remodel; and James incorporated so many wonderful design elements as we completed our project. Loved that we incorporated water conservation ideas into our project (sprinklers, graywater system for our clothes washer, drought-tolerant plants, etc.). So happy with our beautiful project! We hired Earthwise Industries to install irrigation, lighting and implement a landscape design for our front and side yard. James Cothrine and his team exceeded our expectations and we could not be happier with the process and results. After interviewing well over half a dozen landscape contractors, we chose James because he took the time to really listen to what we wanted during his initial visit. His bid was competitive with other bids, but we liked that he told us exactly how the process would work, that he would **check-in** with us while the work was being completed and that he would be on-site much of the time working with and leading his team. He and his team (usually 3-4 people) were especially hard working, typically working 8+ hours per day. They cleaned up at the end of each day so there was no dirt or debris left behind. We also ended up installing two water fountains and James arranged for the electrician to install all of the outside wiring. As his company name states, he gave us water saving tips when we discussed the irrigation, suggesting both drip and overhead sprinklers (other landscapers suggested either one or the other). He also advised us on placement of plants to optimize their chances of thriving and convinced us of using a shredded mulch, which we initially did not want, but were glad we did. The mulch not only helps keep the plants and soil hydrated but gives the yard a **finished** appearance. James runs his landscaping business in the most ideal way: 1) Excellent work, 2) Insightful advice, 3) Hands-on approach (not simply sub-contracting the work to less knowledgeable workers), 4) Responsive, 5) Fair prices. We recommend him without reservation.

James and his crew are amazing. They were able to look at our property and see what would work. Their advice was stellar. Plus, they are cognizant about water conservation, using what is already there, and providing excellent advice. They include a follow-up program, which is really important for maintaining what was done. They are reliable, hard workers, and do fantastic work! I highly recommend James and Earthwise Industries.

I had a great experience with Earthwise. James Cothrine reached out to us expediently after we put in a request on HomeAdvisor. He made multiple trips to our home to make sure we had a backyard design that we were going to be happy with. The work itself was on my backyard to remove turf and add in decomposed granite plus a rock river to get a rebate with the water district. It turned out great and we love the plants he chose and the overall design. Even though the job wasn t as large as some of the landscape companies usually want to work with he made ours feel important. I had such a hard time getting another quote from another company since it was only a small part of our backyard but in the end we were very happy with our choice to go with Earthwise!
