 + -1 moreJeff arrived promptly on time. After discussing the issue he informed me of the possible solutions and cost that would be entailed in addressing them. Afterwhich he tested and diagnosed the issue in the circuit breaker. When the lights were back on, he continued to inspect the remaining circuits and tightened the connections in many circuits. He showed me exactly twhat he did and instructed me in handling the problem should it happen again. Since the repair took less time than expected and required no new parts, he offered me th choice to not redeem the coupon ($199) but to pay the lesser amount in cash and either seek a refund or hold on to the coupon for future work if needed. He was courteous, professional, competent and honest. I would reccommend him highly and will certainly call him for electrical issues in my 45 year old house.
Description of Work: Loss of electricity to all lights in Kitchen. Although I had tried resetting the circuit breaker many times. Jeff diagnosed the issue in the circuit breaker box and solved the problem promply. He also worked with my florescent lights to get them operating.

 + 0 moreThe replacing of the light switches were quick and easy. Replacing the control box was more challenging as I knew it would be. After several trips to Home Depot, Jeff came up with a manual control box. Unfortunately, the box failed to operate properly. We discovered this the day after his service call when we put up our Christmas lights. Even though it was a weekend, Jeff responded to my txt and set an appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday, Jeff installed a more sophisticated, digital control box that worked perfectly. Even though this control box was more expensive, he did not charge me for the additional cost. Jeff Draper, owner of Dwelling Electric, was very friendly and professional. Even though he was faced with a challenging problem, he persisted until the job was completed to my satisfaction. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: The job included replacing a couple of light switches with slider switches. In addition, I needed a defective control box replaced that could be programmed to switch on and off two electrical outlets installed under the eves of the house for Christmas lights.

 + -1 moreJeff came to home and installed a new outlet behind my flat screen TV, as well as troubleshooting some ongoing electrical outlet probems. I was very pleased with the quality of work, the speed with which he accompished mulitple assignments, and his personable disposition. I think he really tries to go above and beyond, as evidenced by the fact that he even vacuumed up the mess he made while installing the new outlet! He was finished before the 4 hours were up, and I didn't have any other problems for him to fix.

This was an Angie's special for 4 hours of electrical work at a cost of $199.00. I was contacted by Dwelling Electric to establish the job requirements. I told him I wanted the 6 pot lights install and that I would provide all the materials. He stated that 4 pot lights is the norm for 4 hours of labor. Having other pot lights installed before, I had a very good idea of the time requirements and I told him so. Without going into our back and forth conversations over time requirements, we decided on a not to exceed price. As I said before, the job was completed and was a quality product. It cost me an additional $175.00 for the extra time but this project could have been completed within the first 4 hours. .
Description of Work: Installed six (6) pot lights in single story private home. All materials were supplied by me.

 + -1 moreJeff was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to understand what we wanted and performed all the work in a timely manner. He was able to fix the lighting/electrical on the 2nd floor without having to damage the drywall in that particular room. That was a big help since we didn't have to paint that room. The price was also excellent (promotion) for the work he was doing. We are very happy with our new lighting and the end results.
Description of Work: We hired Dwelling Electric to bring electricity into the Dining Room ceiling since there was no electrical box at that location. We had him install a light fixture into this new box. We also had him rewire the existing light switch so that it controlled the ceiling light fixture instead of the nearby outlet. We also had him do the same thing in a bedroom on the 2nd floor.

Showed him what needed repairing and then he took apart the kitchen ceiling lights and I went to Home Depot for materials while he worked on the other items. When I returned the bathroom switch was changed and he was almost done with the outlet. Then he did the kitchen. My neighbor came over and asked for his help to move a piece of furniture which he willingly did and when he finished my work, he went to her place and fixed her ceiling light at no charge. He is totally awesome. He reaffirms my belief in the goodness of men. He was my hero of the week. Will definitely refer him to my friends.
Description of Work: Jeff changed two ballasts and fluorescent tubes in my kitchen ceiling, Replaced On/Off switch in bathroom and changed a 2 prong outlet to a 3 prong outlet.

Spent a decent amount of time on it but was unable to determine solution. Had him come back for something else and he had asked about the problem. He found the solution and credited back an hour since he felt he did not resolve it the pervious visit (I thought that was excellent of him). Overall good work. NIce professional person. Would hire him again.

He made a point to be very specific what he was doing and how much it would cost. There were no surpises. He encountered a few challenging outlets/switches because of old wiring, short wiring and incorret wiring but he did not charge me more that the original estimate. I think the poor guy stayed much later than he planned but he did it with a smile. We plan to use him again in the near future.
Description of Work: We did the 20 outlets deal for $200 through angies list, then had him come back 2 weeks later to do 44 more outlets/switches.
