This real estate agent is directly responsible for misleading me, and causing me not to be able to buy the home I wanted. She didn't follow the normal operating procedures that other upstanding agents practice.
Description of Work: In my opinion this real estate agent uses discriminatory practices in "choosing" whom to sell a house to. I believe she discriminated against selling me a home based on my being a single female looking to buy in a family neighborhood. My representing agent contacted Michele Engleman, Century 21 Real Estate in San Diego, about a home she listed for sale. Ms. Engleman advised my agent on what price we should offer the seller to be considered. Taking her advisement we offered the price Ms. Engleman suggested her clients would accept. Michele Engleman delayed presenting my written offer to the seller claiming the seller was in an emotionally sensitive condition. Then promised to present my written offer the following morning. My own agent attempted to follow up the next morning with several phone calls; several text messages & emails, all were ignored by Ms. Engleman until several hours later, when Ms. Engleman expressed to my agent that they had accepted a higher offer made that very morning. At no time did agent Michele Engleman contact my agent with any counter-offer, or advisement that she had a full list price offer from another couple. If she had, I would have met the offer. I also would have offered the full list price if given the opportunity. After all my offer was the first written offer submitted, and I offered a price she herself advised me her client would accept! I believe Century 21 San Diego real estate Michele Engleman discriminated against me, didn't offer me a chance to offer the full list price, based on my being a single woman desiring to buy a home in a family neighborhood. In my opinion this practice is completely unethical. This unethical agent directly caused me to loose the home of my dreams.
