 + -1 moreIt went terrible. Michael L. Larson who owns MLLarson Construction, Inc. does window instillations for all the Dixielines in the area and he is a passive/aggressive/ poor communicator. Michael Larson called me three days later and explained and apologized for my experience with the confusion and bidding mistakes. On the phone he seemed very sincere and I really appreciate and am grateful for the phone call. He offered to re-measure and re-bid for the work. There is no harm in making a human mistake. I appreciate people who try, and follow and quot;The Golden Ruleand quot; Thanks again Michael.
Description of Work: Dixieline fouled up my attempt to hire them by taking up my time and resources and energy, ultimately, by omission, let me know they weren't interested in doing a job for me. I have tried unsuccessfully to work with Steve Willis to purchase and install two windows in my master bathroom. He is a nice guy, just trying to do his job. But the contractor he has to work with Michael L. Larson is unprofessional because he doesn't return phone calls, confuses bids (I received the wrong bid, one from another person entirely), and refuses to put in "New Construction Windows" even though I asked repeatedly if they put in New Construction Windows. Why can't they just say "We don't put in "New Construction Window"!!! They are not the only window company in SD! If they had just followed "The Golden Rule" it would have saved me time, resources and energy. Don't bother calling and discussing concerns and issues with the manager... he is apparently a front man who's only interest is protecting his employees. Unless you are interested in another time drain. Andy (the manager) wanted to talk about the other employee who works in windows who is currently distracted by his impending wedding.

Description of Work: I wanted my new cabinets and countertops for my kitchen.No follow through service. I was willing to spend the money. I was told they would call me and I always had to call them. Late for consult and follow up appts. Just blew me off like my business was not important..

 + 0 moreMy painter recommended them. I compared the price with a big box store and they were comparable and they were closer to my house. The shutters were very reasonably priced. It took me forever to make up my mind and they put up with me. I called them ahead of time and they were able to give me a ballpark price so they were responsive. I let the shutters set there for 3 weeks. They called me back really promptly unlike other places that don't answer the phone.
Description of Work: I bought vinyl shutters for the outside of my house from Dixieline Lumber.

 + 1 moreSalespeople are always helpful and attentive. After buying the faucets, discovered they were on sale at another branch, got them at the sale price without any problem from the sales rep.
Description of Work: Replaced medicine cabinets, faucets, and new tub/shower faucets during my remodel of the bathrooms.

custom cabinets
 + -1 moreOverall quality of cabinets is excellent. Design basically good. The salesman made several mistakes in measurement and design that required us to modify cabinets in a less than ideal way. The worst thing was that the salesman recommended an installer who turned out to be a total disaster and who damaged the cabinets and denied his mistakes. Though they made an attempt to mediate, Dixieline took no responsibility for the install. Gary Seavers, the salesman, had the gall to tell me: ''Well, if you turn the lights down and open a bottle of wine, you won't notice.'' After spending more than $20K for the cabinets plus $6K for the sloppy install! His attitude, basically, was that I was too picky. Moral: Never purchase cabinets from a company that does not take full responsiblity for the installation and correcting any measurement issues.
Description of Work: Measured new kitchen, guest bath, and master bath. Designed layout and then ordered and had delivered Decora semi-custom kitchen and bath cabinets.

 + -1 moreTHEY DID ALL THE WORK AND WERE DONE IN A SHORT TIME. THEY ARE GOOD TO WORK WITH AND THE COST WAS GOOD.
Description of Work: WE BOUGHT A PRE-MADE GARAGE FROM THEM AND THEY INSTALLED IT. IT IS A 20X30 AND FOR THE COST WE COULDN'T BEAT IT.
