As we arrived in San Diego, driving from Phoenix, our A/C quit. We located Convoy Auto Repair through Angie's list. They worked us into their schedule for the next day. They couldn't find the cause, but they re-charged the coolant and it appeared to be working fine. Cost was about $140. Shortly after picking up my car the A/C quit, again. The problem was some sort of intermittent. This is one of the worst types of problems to fix, simply because you need the item to fail in order to fix it. Otherwise, you're guessing. Convoy arranged to work on the car again. They spent another full day on it and experienced the A/C failure only once, for a brief period of time. They recommended changing a relay (cost less than $40). They didn't charge any labor costs for the second day of work. During the rest of our stay in San Diego the A/C worked well and Convoy even called us to confirm that everything was still working. I've been back in Phoenix's desert heat for 2 weeks, and we've had no problems.

The air conditioner had stopped putting out cold air due to loss of Freon. They recharged the system and found Freon leaks the hoses ware replaced and the system recharged, problem solved.

The cabin filter is like ten to fifteen dollars and yet they charged me $58 for the part and to install it. The brake fluid flush I guess it's comparable. The drive belt was a little pricey at $142 for two belts. I'm checking that there doing it and so far my car is running fine. Since then I did return and have a second oil change but I'm not having there other recommended work done such as transmission service, or fuel injection service, which I looked up and that's really not that necessary. The struts, it was $1500, just under 1500 dollars $1498 and that might be comparable and so I asked them if they could drive me to work and they said they only have a three mile radius and my work is just 5 miles. I thought very poorly of them, I thought you're losing a 1500 dollar job because you won't go out of your radius.

The a/c does not work as well as it used to. It is better than it was before the repairs but it takes a long time to get cool and does not blow very cold even after it has been running a long time at full blast. I expected much more for such a high price tag.

Great service, friendly, great two year warranty

Better than anticipated. We called and asked for a 50,000 mile service and tune up. Most places will not take my Audi as they are apparently difficult to service. The cost was approx $385. They told us that they were able to accommodate a Saturday service, which we are very appreciate of. They called us and said we needed to replace our power steering fluid and fuel filter, which was at a great price. The tech's and service reps were all very professional and respectful. They offered to give me a ride home, which I didn't need. When I went to pick the car up a couple hours later they gave us the $50 dollar off coupon from Angies list and told us all repairs were guaranteed for 2 years. I will be a repeat customer for sure. Price was fair and service was great! Thank you Convoy Auto!!!!

Made an appt. Had to wait about a half hour for them to start the work. Was finished earlier than expected. Apparently good work. No trouble since. Good attitudes by the staff.

Amazing! For the price of getting the car checked out and getting a service report at a typical dealership, we were able to have out 10 year old Volvo fixed for safety items. The car was rarely used in recent years and we needed to find out what work was needed. Convoy Auto Repair made the diagnosis and repaired - all on a Saturday! We have a few more items to get done, but we are able to use the car without worrying if there are immediate safety issues! Thank you!

Found them through AAA as a recommended mechanic and couldn't be happier with the overall experience of doing business with them. Needed to fix a check engine light, a recent issue with one of my gauges, and get a smog check. I set up a time to take my car in and after I dropped it off in the morning their shuttle van took me back to work (I work in Kearny Mesa). They called me a few hours later and clearly explained what they found and what they believe needed to be done. Their estimate for the part, labor, and smog check was fair so I had them do the work. The replacement part fixed my check engine light and gauge issue, and my car passed smog with flying colors. When I picked up my car we reviewed everything again on paper, which I appreciated. They also did a follow up call a few days later. Car runs great and feel like I just did business with a legitimate company who values their customers. Way to go guys, keep up the great work!

A $300 dollar estimate turned into a $2000 dollar estimate.

Very pleased. We just regret that we didn't find them sooner before we moved from Coronado, CA back to Marietta, GA.

They were excellent, they were able to take me in very quickly, it feel like they did not took advantage of me financially, it was a fair price, they were timely, it didn't take them very long at all to change my breaks. I would recommend that they would actually use this company, I'll go back to them for everything.

I took the car to a few other places that only wanted to repair the air conditioner. These guys were the first ones to tell me that entire air conditioner needed replaced, so I wouldn't have to keep repairing it.

They were great. We were impressed by how long they have been in business and the reviews. For what I am going to have done with the car, the estimate is just about right.

Overall went well. I don't know much about cars as I should so I took my car in for a 90,000 service. The thing about these service is that they don't actually do much as far as service but rather gives the shop a chance to look for issues (which I don't think is an issue by any means) but they desk person told me that my brakes were worn down. I informed him that that was strange since I just had my brakes serviced less than a month ago. So either a) I drive in a manner that wears done the brakes to fast b) midas didnt actually replace them or C) there were measured wrong or I was being lied to. He told me that he is more than certain Midas wouldn't have not replaced the brakes and said that he would have them look at again. The brakes were never again brought up. So I am not sure what the issue was and I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just a bad measurement. Overall the service was good and the shop is kept clean and tidy. I also felt the difference in my car right away. I would recommended them but be careful of the up sells.

Within hours, they performed the diagonstics and found the problem to be a head gasket issue which would cost a couple of thousand to replace. This was the last straw for the Jetta inasmuch as I sunk thousands of dollars replacing everything that failed in the car from transmission to fuel pump, to well, just about everything in the car. Father Joe's is now the proud owner of this technological misfit. The guys at Convoy, and I've used them before (recommended by AAA) are fantastic, honest, and offer a very fair value for services performed.

They were very professional. They called several times as diagnostics were completed. They repaired they problem and gave a printout of issues we would need to address at some point

As a single female it can be hard to find a place to take your car that you can trust. I know very little about cars and have to be able to trust that what is recommended is truly needed. So, I have been taking my car to Convoy Auto Repair since I moved here. The staff and service are outstanding. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and honest about what it takes to keep my car running at its very best. They fully explain each item they recommend and the benefits to me. The owner, David and the staff care about their customers and it shows. I like the free shuttle so I do not have to impose on coworkers to pick me up when I am having my car serviced. I honestly can say they are the best automotive repair shop in San Diego. I have referred family, co-workers and friends to Convoy Auto Repair and they too have been very happy with Convoy Auto Repair.

The forty point inspection was free for me since I have AAA. They are very honest and very helpful. They do not try to pressure me to fix anything that I am not ready to fix unless I absolutely have to.
