Colossus Painting

We have hired Colossus Painting at two different times - first to paint the exterior of our house and later to do the interior. Josh and his crew were great to work with. They are very professional and their work is very high quality. They made sure that we were happy with every detail. We would definitely use them again.

Josh and his team were phenomenal. Our house is approx 1200 sf not a huge house and they spent two days just prepping. Making sure all holes were patched, trim sanded, wood caulked, stucco repaired. Then they took two additional days to paint. We had three different colors and specific instructions and it looks fantastic. Professional and problem solvers, the house looks brand new.

The guy that came to take the estimate was courteous and professional. The workers showed up on time and they were clean and friendly. The did a great job and the detail was good. The workers were courteous and professional as well.

We took 4 bids and went with Colossus Painting because of their price and the fact their license is active AND they carry workers comp. Amy came out and listened to what we wanted and was able to provide their bid at that time. I didn't have to wait for it like a couple others that came to bid. Their workers are professional, pleasant, cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day, answered any questions I had during the process and they were careful of our home & pets. They were not intrusive since I work from home. Amy was there on day one going over everything with her painters, she came back again towards the end of the project to see how things were progressing, and she came on the last day as well to go over everything and see if we were happy with the results. She even gave us a bottle of wine at the end! Nice touch! Amy was quick to respond to any emails I sent her during the work - which is a big plus for me! Also, mid project my husband decided he wanted them to paint our exterior deck. I asked Amy if this could also be done and she wasn't even hesitant. Said of course, we negotiated a fair price for the additional work. It added 1 more day to the project which was fine. Overall we are extremely pleased with the work of Colossus Painting and if need be, we'll use them again for another future project we possibly have coming up. Highly recommend them!

We interviewed several companies, then decided on Colossus based on the professionalism, thoroughness of the work to be performed, and quality of products used. Colossus was not the most, nor the least expensive. In addition to the references they provided, we also had good recommendations from personal acquaintances who used their services. We really appreciated Amy?s help with color samples and finishes so we could see the subtle differences among the limited choices we had due to HOA requirements. We certainly appreciated the swatches of color she provided to be sure we were pleased with the choices. They were flexible when we made some last minute changes. The workers were prompt, courteous, skilled, and tidy. They protected plants and surfaces not to be painted and seemed to take extra care. Amy cmade several visits to check on work progress. We are both very pleased with the work and would use them again.

Amy was very professional and complete in her proposal to paint the house including references. The team from Colossus was prompt, polite, capable and neat. They completed the project on time and cleaned up each day. I would recommend Colossus Painting.

We are very pleased with the work that Josh and his crew did for us. We thought we had our paint colors all picked by ourselves until we tried it on our house the evening before Josh was set to start painting. Josh very patiently went back to the drawing board with us and went way over and above in helping us get colors we loved. Then they flexed with us as we debated what trim to paint what color. Cost wise the were not the lowest bid, nor anywhere close to the highest. We were looking for excellent work at a fair price and feel like we got exactly what we wanted. The workmanship is meticulous; lines are clean. Josh and his crew were always polite and helpful. They were a pleasure to work with and we'd definitely hire them again.

I'm just following up on work that Colossus did on my home back in October. I had a minor issue with the paint in the bathrooms. The paint became sticky overtime. I called and left a message and Amy promptly called me back the next day. She didn't question the problem like most businesses do and make the customer feel bad for complaining. She got right to it, and scheduled someone to come out asap. They re-painted my bathrooms without a fuss, Josh acknowledged that the paint product didn't hold up and apologized as this rarely ever happens. The paint in the rest of my house looks fabulous and everyone says my house looks like a brand new home. They are such a wonderful family company with great employees. I have a baby and feel comfortable leaving the employees in my home while I took the baby out of the house for the day. I've recommended them to others who are extremely happy with their work. I wish nothing but success for them and happy to refer them.

I hired Colossus to paint the entire interior of my house - this included ceilings, walls, woodwork, doors, and even the interior of the garage. Timing was critical as this is a rental and I had a tenant ready to move in. I found the company to be outstanding in the management and completion of the project. Josh walked through the entire house on day one to make sure we were clear on all the work to be accomplished. The crew worked hard, were courteous and professional, and did an outstanding job. Josh was onsite practically everyday to ensure a timely completion - which they did - even though I added some work during the week. I would not even consider another painter after my experience with Colossus. They have a "client for life" with me, and I have already recommended them to a neighbor.

I like the guy who came out, and I think he is the owner. His pricing is reasonable. He is very personable, and he is a nice guy. He told me a couple of places where I could get colors, and I had an overall good impression on him. If I have questions or ideas, he explains them to me. He was great! He even called back like three times. He is very good, and you would obviously knew his craft. I definitely would consider using him in the future.

They came over to do the estimate- we walked through everything, matched paint colors- great communication throughout and they showed up on time the day of and got to work!

Colossus Painting did a really nice job. They cleaned up very well and they were courteous.

.They were very prompt with the estimate and it was detailed. It was in October. We were moving and we decided to sell the house as its and let the buyer deal with the painting of the house. I can't grade them on their work as we did not end up using them. They were pofessioinal.

A very good company. The work was well done, they were very prompt and professional. Their pricing was very competitive and they were easy to work with. They were very prompt in their follow up for some touch up. Will use them again for future projects.

They did good. What I liked about them is that they gave me the bid in a pretty timely manner. They did come out when they said they were going to come out. They were very kind. Their bid was just priced higher. They answered their phone every time I called.

Employees at Colossus obviously take great pride in their work. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I interviewed several companies and decided on Colossus based on Josh's knowledge and attention to detail during the estimate walk-around. Colossus' estimate was in the upper range of those received, but they also itemized the impressive prep-work they would perform. This was critical as our house is an English Tudor style and thus has a lot of exposed wood trim that required attention. After receiving estimate and coordinating dates, Colossus started on time each and every day. The workers were very polite, considerate, and neat. We had two workers the first week as they power-washed the entire house and then patched, prepaired, and caulked all the wood trim (they used over 100 tubes of caulk on this house!!!). During the walk-around, Josh suggested completely priming and painting the wood trim as that would provide the best protection, but we wanted to retain some of the original rustic look so we opted for a full-body (pigmented) stain for the wood trim. Although this removed the need to sand the trim, it did require a much longer drying time before they could tape off the trim and paint the stucco walls between all the wood. It was at this time that the full crew showed up! Nine workers decended on our house around day 5 and things really started to happen. Up to now, the workers had been hand painting all the wood trim (mahogany brown) as well as the stucco walls (marshmellow white) since the trim was still too wet to tape off. But with time and hot days, the entire crew was able to complete the work within another 7 days. All the trim was hand painted, the eaves and walls were sprayed. So a total of around 13 days seems like a lot, but this is a very large 2 story Tudor house. Also included was an approx 75' retaining wall, exterior built-in Bar-B-Que, and pergola over back patio. My wife and I were very happy with the results. The trim is sealed, sealed, sealed and the white walls are great. There was no trash or spilt paint around the house. I did find one small area that needed a touch up a week later (after I paid in full!) and Colossus was very responsive to getting some guys over to address my issues immediately. Very impressive company, Amy was awesome and the workers were responsible, neat, courteous and timely. Could not ask for a better outcome. Will use again, in ten years!

They did a fabulous job. Everything was clean and neat. They were nice people and easy to do business with. They were willing to do the small job. It took a whole day. They used a heavy duty stripper and a sort of solvent to really get it all off and then they did a little scraping. It was amazing. They really knew how to do it. They protected the carpet and the wall that had Venetian plaster. I was totally impressed. They were a nice young couple and the owner and his wife came by while the worker was here. They were a lovely couple. I talked to them about doing a finish on it and he was straight with me. He said it would probably cost a lot of money and I would have to spend a lot of time with their guy telling them what I wanted and then I might not like it. I have a friend that is an artist and he said I would be better off to have her do it. I appreciated his honesty. The price was very fair.

The work was superb, but most of all is their professionalism. Amy Berner is a genuine person who is concerned that her company does right by it's customers. During the work, my husband was admitted to the hospital and she made sure that everything was completed on time prior to his discharge. She coordinated with the house cleaners to assure they were ready to come in to clean the house after the project. Removing popcorn celing can be a mess, but our house was clean and ready for us to move in. I would recommend Colossus whole heartedly.

They used high quality products, and I liked that they are a local, small, and family owned business.

Benjamin arrived for the power washing on time and got right to work. Noel and he arrived the next day to begin taping off and spray painting. Their supervisor, Al Hernandez, stopped by several times throughout the painting sessions. We were also in touch with both Josh and Amy by phone and email. It's a good company to deal with; everyone seems knowlegeable and pleasant to deal with.

.Both Josh and the design expert knew exactly how to achieve the look we were hoping for. From the first consultation to the final walk through, the entire process was beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend Colossus Painting to anyone looking for a fair price, excellent customer service and people who take pride in their work.

This is a family business with their own permanent employees. Owner shows up and keeps track of things, wife handles communications and apporintments, PLUS they have a project manager who brings materials and troubleshoots every day. This man is so nice and so helpful that I would hire them again just because of him. No kidding. This is a quality company and there are no language problems when communicating with the employees.Complaints? Well, they did take significantly longer than expected, six days instead of three. It didn't increase the price but the mess and disruption was trying on the family. The skilled work on crown moldings were done by maticulous workers who took the time it needed to do a good job. Fair tradeoff, I guess. The owner adjusted the price because of the large number of hours spent and not expected. They will be my first call next time I need painting.

I contacted ColossusPainting to get an estimate on painting the exterior of my home. Josh was on time for our appointment, and looked at the job in order to give me an estimate. During that time, he asked what i wanted and made recommendations regarding prep work, colors, quality of paint, etc. Compared to the other painters, he was the most thorough. When the estimate came in, I was pleased--I was getting more quality and prep work than the others for about the same price. While the painters were at my home, they arrived on time, were careful with my landscaping, and cleaned up after themselves. Josh came by to check on the work and make sure I was happy--which I was.

The prep work and painting went great. Colossus' cheerful painter did an excellent, conscientious job. He finished in a single long day, with no mess or problems whatsoever. He somehow managed to hide a long old crack in our ceiling that we doubted could be fixed, put on two coats walls and ceiling. The final results were terrific, totally transformed our tired-looking old living room. The carpenter was supposed to arrive the next day but was somehow delayed and didn't show up as scheduled until another day later. He too did an excellent job but ran out of crown molding after the 2nd day. Josh was extremely apologetic, said the molding supply store had promised it had an adequate supply but ran out somehow. He told us the wood wouldn't be in until a few days later. It wouldn't have been much of an issue but we had to contend with having our living room torn up for more than a week, instead of 2-3 days, which was an significant inconvenience. Then, when the molding arrived at the store, the carpenter inexplicably didn't show up for 2 more days after that; why was a mystery, or maybe miscommunication. Finally, he arrived, installed the new molding baseboard and casing, which Josh had already stained himself, and finished the job. Everything looked really great, very professional, no corners cut. Everything was cleaned up and put back in order. No complaints on the finished product. On the downside, our house was in disarray for 9 days, about a week longer than we planned. Imagine my surprise when Josh handed me a bill that had been marked from $1500 to zero. That's right, $0, nada, zip, nothin'. Josh insisted that because of our inconvenience and the mixups, which wasn't even his fault, that he wasn't going to charge me! It took me a minute to figure out what he was saying. I'd expected, sure, maybe a 10% discount or something, hardly being comped for the whole job! Needless to say, I was floored and actually tried to talk Josh into accepting a reasonable payment, but he flatly refused, saying when he tells a customer a job will take x days, that's what it should be. So we basically got the whole job for free--How 'bout that? What a professional (if not profitable) thing to do??? Anyway, my wife and I agreed that we wanted to at least pay for the supplies used on our job, so we sent Josh $500. We used our unexpected savings to install new blinds, which look great with the new paint job. Pretty great company. Yeah, I'd recommend this company. Already have, in fact.
